Namun, dalam konteks era kesetaraan gender, fokus penelitian semakin tertuju pada analisis humor, terutama humor seksis yang menjadi sorotan kritis. Teori humor Henri Bergson, yang menekankan mekanisme sebagai sumber komik, telah menjadi dasar banyak penelitian, tetapi aplikasinya pada humor seksis memunculkan pertanyaan relevansi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkritik teori Bergson melalui lensa humor seksis, menyoroti aspek-aspek yang tidak diakomodasi. Dengan membuka diskusi tentang relevansi teori ini terhadap isu-isu gender dan kekuasaan, penelitian ini secara khusus mengeksplorasi tujuan untuk memahami ketidakmampuan teori dalam menghadapi humor seksis, berkontribusi pada pemahaman yang lebih mendalam tentang hubungan kompleks antara humor, gender, dan kekuasaan dalam masyarakat.

The phenomenon of humour has long been at the centre of cross-field research as a human expression and a means of communication rich in meaning. However, in the context of the era of gender equality, the focus of research is increasingly on the analysis of humour, especially sexist humour, which has come under critical scrutiny. Henri Bergson's theory of humour, which emphasizes mechanism as a source of comic relief, has been the basis of many studies, but its application to sexist humour raises questions of relevance. This study aims to critique Bergson's theory through the lens of sexist humour, highlighting aspects that are not accommodated. By opening a discussion on the theory's relevance to issues of gender and power, this research specifically explores the goal of understanding the theory's inability to deal with sexist humour, contributing to a deeper understanding of the complex relationship between humour, gender, and power in society."

"Skripsi ini membahas mengenai manusia sebagai makhluk unik yang berada di antara elan vital dan materi. Manusia memiliki kodrat untuk selalu menuju _lan vital yang merupakan jalan menuju kebebasan. Akan tetapi, ketidakwaspadaan dapat menyebabkan manusia tergelincir menuju materi. Ketergelinciran ini disebut dengan komik. Pada situasi dan kondisi komik, manusia kehilangan kebebasannya. Segala geraknya terdeterminasi dan terlihat seperti mesin yang bergerak mekanis dan otomatis. Di dalam masyarakat situasi komik dianggap sebagai ancaman. Ketidakmampuan untuk beradaptasi menyebabkan seseorang menjadi komik. Hukuman bagi seseorang yang berlaku komik adalah dengan ditertawakan.

This essay discusses about man as unique creatures existing between the elan vital and the matter. Naturally, man always toward to _lan vital which is the road to freedom. However, incautiousness can slip him to the matter. This loseness is called with comic. In the comic situations and conditions, man loss his freedom. Their movements are determined and looked like the engine moving automatically and mechanically. In society, comic situation is seen as a threat. Inability to adapt can cause someone to be comic. The punishment for someone who act comically is being laugh."
