"The Proper Pirate: Robert Louis Stevensons Quest for Identity explores the nineteenth-century author Robert Louis Stevensons psychological journey from a constricted and religious family of Scottish engineers to a life of imagination and adventure that culminated in the South Seas island of Samoa. Drawing on contemporary theories of identity development, the author traces how Stevenson overcame Victorian dualities of piety versus passion in his personal life and artistic works, gradually edging toward a more modernist and complicated moral vision. This first full-length psychobiographical analysis of Stevenson follows the trajectory of his life, while highlighting how key memories and conflicts within his personality shaped the narrative structure and themes of his most celebrated works, Treasure Island, A Childs Garden of Verses, Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, and Kidnapped. Stevensons relationships to his parents, wife, Fanny, and circle of intimate friends also play a prominent role in this investigation of his emerging identity and artistic work. Drawing on Stevensons extensive volumes of correspondence, personal memoirs, essays, novels, stories, and poems, as well as historical documents, multiple biographies, and critical studies, the author uses his background as a clinical psychologist and researcher in personality science to provide new insights into Stevensons psychological development. "Around the turn of the nineteenth century, the northwestern littoral of India, largely comprising of Gujarat, Kathiawad, Cutch, and Sind, was battered by piratical raids. These attacks disrupted coastal trade and embarrassed the English East India Company by defying the very boundaries of law and sovereignty that the Company was trying to impose. Who were these pirates whom the Company described as small-time crooks habituated to a life of raiding and thieving? How did they perceive themselves? What did they mean when they insisted that theft was their livelihood and that it enjoyed the sanction of God? Exploring the phenomenon and politics of predation in the region, Lakshmi Subramanian teases out a material history of piracy, locating its antecedents, its social context, and its ramifications, during a crucial period of political turbulence marked by global expansion of commercial exchanges headed by the Company. She investigates the fissures within the colonial project of law and anti-piracy regulations and, through the lens of maritime politics, unravels the skeins of a distinct mode of subaltern protest. "Berkembangnya teknologi yang dapat digenggam ditangan masyarakat membuat banyak keuntungan dan kerugian. Salah satu keuntungannya adalah semakin mudahnya mendapatkan barang yang diinginkan oleh konsumen. Akan tetapi, hal tersebut juga berlaku kepada barang-barang yang seharusnya dibeli secara legal, bisa didapatkan secara ilegal melalui pengunduhan melalui sumber yang tidak dibawah ranah hukum, khususnya musik. Skripsi ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh faktor-faktor yang dapat mempengaruhi niat untuk melakukan pembajakan musik dalam kalangan masyarakat yang beragama Islam. Peneliti menggunakan metode Structural Equation Modelling Partial Least Square untuk menganalisis pengaruh masing-masing variabel independen terhadap niat untuk melakukan pembajakan musik. Religiusitas tidak ditemukan untuk mempengaruhi niat untuk tidak membajak. Akan tetapi, Obligasi Moral, Tekanan Normatif, Willingness to Pay, Tekanan Meniru, dan sikap berpengaruh secara signifikan terhadap niat untuk tidak membajak. Penelitian ini mempunyai implikasi untuk pemerintah yang ingin mengurangi pembajakan media digital di Indonesia khususnya musik serta industri media digital.

The advancement of technology that can be held by the hands of all classes of people can make some benefits and drawbacks. One of the benefits is the ease of procurement of goods. Although, it is also applicable to goods that should have been bought legally, where can be procured illegaly through ilegal downloading, especially music. This paper aims to analyze the effects of the factors that can affect intention to pirate music in the moslem population. The researcher uses SEM PLS as his method to analyze the effects to no pirate music. The study has found that religiosity has no effect to intention, but Moral Obligation, Normative Pressure, Willingness to pay, Mimetic Pressure, and Attitude significantly affects intention to not pirate. This research has implications to governments who wanted to reduce digital piracy especially in Indonesia also Digital media industry, both Halal and the industry as a large."
