"In Indonesia, socioeconomic status is one of the key factors in determining marriage age and partner choice. Adults and yoult alike view religious and adat values as the “fortress” or fifter countering all of society’s ills, including hedonism, cosumerism and exploitation. Problematically however, the values associated with the complexities of contemporary social life. The increasing liberalisation of attitudes towards sexuality in popular culture, throuht access to digital media and virtual technologies and among peers, positions youth in an incredibly vulnerable position, one which requires them to have the tools to critique what they experience and to protect thenselves against risks. In effect, this means an increase in the number of dispenstaion request, greater scope for their abuse by local officials and a increase in the number of abortions"

"Forest destruction in Indonesia has become a very serious problem and global concern. Eco-labels aim to combat illegal logging, illegal trading, and forest conversion. Eco-labeling in the furniture industry is slower in Indonesia than in competing countries such as China and Vietnam, where China has reached more than 1000 Chain of Custody (CoC) certification industrial units and Vietnam 238 units, while Indonesia has achieved only 78 units. But eco-labeling is perceived as a pressure on the international trade of the furniture industry. This study examines how the furniture industry in Central Java and Yogyakarta understands eco-labeling and what efforts the industry is making. Eco-labeling has a positive impact on the industrial environment and sustainable forestry, and it increases credibility/corporate image, market share, and profit. But not all buyers demand eco-labeling, so some companies deal with eco-labeling either by applying for certification or by looking for buyers that do not require the eco-label. Buyers who do not require the eco-label result in companies having less motivation to seek CoC certification. Other views about eco-labeling in the industry are also counterproductive, producing further obstacles to eco-label certification. Eco-labeling is often understood as unfair competition from developed countries, implemented as a barrier to entry into trade, and as inconsistent with The General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade (GATT)/The World Trade Organization (WTO). Eco-labeling is often considered a new form of colonialism rather than an instrument of environmental management."

ABSTRACT
The measure of a sucessful communication of cultural values in city branding is the level of people rsquo s understanding of the message conveyed by the logo design. This research aims at exploring people rsquo s understanding of Yogyakarta rsquo s cultural values communicated through Yogyakarta rsquo s 2015 Logotype. Qualitative method is employed for this research and data are gathered through literature review and interviews. This study reveals that people rsquo s understanding of the cultural values in the visual concept of Yogyakarta rsquo s logotype is lacking. This is due to lack of knowledge about the changes in the logotype, problems related to the publication and dissemination of the logotype, and people rsquo s differing perceptions about cultural values. The lack of knowledge about the logotype is resulted from low level of awareness about the evolvement of the City of Yogyakarta rsquo s brand since 2001 until 2015. The lack of publication and dissemination of Yogyakarta rsquo s logotype to provide visual understanding of the logotype contributes to this lack of awareness. Furthermore, it rsquo s also a case of incompatibility between the messages that the City Branding Council tries to convey and the people rsquo s understanding of Yogyakarta rsquo s cultural values. This research concludes by providing recommendations on how some visual parts of the logotype should and could be modified to better represent Yogyakarta rsquo s cultural values based on the analysis provided by this study.

Urban workers will preferably choose to live in areas that can provide greater job opportunities than their previous home areas. Based on the experience of mobile workers, location and job stability are the main factors they consider when choosing a house. Workers who live temporarily will find a lot of instability and insecurity while living, thus they will form a temporary bond to be able to meet their needs. This bond is described by the concept of disposable ties, which act as a substitute for the low sense of community belonging possessed by workers. The formation of disposable ties will affect the meaning of home for urban workers. The connection will be seen in a theoretical review and case study analysis of an urban village in Jakarta, which is often chosen as an alternative living place for workers. Home for urban workers is a temporary shelter, but with the existence of disposable ties, home can also be interpreted as a place that can provide their needs through community ties, despite all the limitations that workers have."
