"[ABSTRAKTesis ini membahas subordinasi tokoh utama perempuan di dalam novel Burung-Burung Rantau (1992) karya Y. B. Mangunwijaya dengan mencermati narasi danfokalisasi. Pencermatan terhadap narasi dilakukan dengan menggunakan tekniknaratif yang dikemukakan Genette (1980) dan telaah terhadap fokalisasi dilakukandengan pendekatan fokalisasi Kenan (2003). Narator dan fokalisator tampakmensubordinasi tokoh utama perempuan dalam aspek tubuh dan seksualitas,pernikahan, dan pendidikan terkait dengan isu gender. Dengan mengkaji diksiyang digunakan fokalisator dalam pencermatannya, makna diksi ternyata jugamensubordinasi tokoh utama.

ABSTRACTThis thesis presents the subordination of the heroine of Burung-Burung Rantau(1992) by Y. B. Mangunwijaya by observing narration and focalization. Analysisof the narration is done by using the narrative techniques proposed by Genette(1980) and study of focalization is conducted by using the focalization by Kenan(2003). Narrator and focalizator subordinate the heroine in the aspect of the bodyand sexuality, marriage, and education related to gender issues. "[ABSTRAKTesis ini membahas rekonstruksi identitas Minangkabau dalam narasi Persiden karya Wisran Hadi. Tujuannya adalah memaparkan gejala-gejala identitas melalui cara narator membingkai narasinya dan menyajikannya kepada penerima cerita. Dari gejala-gejala tersebut, dapat dijabarkan penanda Rumah Bagonjong yang didesak oleh ruang kota. Dari penelitian ini dapat diperoleh gejala tegangan antara ruang kota yang ditandai dengan Simpang Persiden dan ruang tradisional yang ditandai dengan keberadaan Rumah Bagonjong. Tegangan tersebut memunculkan negosiasi yang tidak diberi penyelesaian oleh Narator. Pada akhirnya, negosiasi direspons oleh Wisran Hadi dengan menghadirkan outer space yang dilihat dari pergerakan tokoh menjauh dari ruang Persiden. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa rekonstruksi identitas Minangkabau belum terjadi karena perubahan identitas itu masih dinegosiasikan.

ABSTRACTThis thesis is discussing Minangkabau's identities reconstruction in Wisran Hadi's work, Persiden. The aim of this thesis is to explain the identity phenomenon seen from the way the author wrapping the narration and presenting it to the readers. From these phenomenon, we can see that Bagonjong's house existence is being pushed by the city. The thesis found there is a clash between the urban space represented by Simpang Persiden and traditional space represented with the existence of Bagonjong house. Moreover, the clash between spaces raises endless negotiation voiced by the Narrator. Thus, the author respond to the endless negotiation by presenting outer space which represented by the character moving away from Persiden. In conclusion, Minangkabau?s identity reconstruction is never take place due to the endless and unfinished negotiation, This thesis is discussing Minangkabau's identities reconstruction in Wisran Hadi's work, Persiden. "Penelitian ini membahas konflik batin pada tokoh Muhammad Ayyas dalam novel Bumi Cinta karya Habiburrahman El Shirazy dengan menggunakan pendekatan psikologi sastra. Novel Bumi Cinta mengandung unsur nilai dan norma Islam di dalamnya. Setiap tempat memiliki nilai dan normanya masing-masing. Perbedaan nilai dan norma di suatu tempat bisa saja bertentangan dengan tempat yang lainnya. Dalam novel Bumi Cinta tokoh Ayyas yang memiliki latar nilai dan norma Islam menghadapi perbedaan nilai dan norma di Rusia yang sangat bertentangan dengan dirinya. Nilai dan norma yang bertentangan ini mengakibatkan munculnya konflik batin di dalam diri Muhammad Ayyas. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif dan menggunakan pendekatan psikologi sastra. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa Ayyas mengalami dilema dalam pertemanan, mencari tempat tinggal, beribadah, dan percintaan. Hal tersebut karena setiap keputusan yang Ayyas ambil selalu berlandaskan nilai dan norma Islam serta logika berpikirnya.

This study discusses about inner conflict Muhammad Ayyas character in the novel Bumi Cinta by Habiburrahman El Shirazy using a psychology literary approach. Novel Bumi Cinta has Islam norms and value. Each place has its own norms and values. This difference can be contradicting between others. In novel Bumi Cinta, Muhammad Ayyas has a problem because he has a different norms and values with surroundings. Contradicting value and norms makes inner conclict for Muhammad Ayyas. This research tries to describe inner conflict in him and describe Muhammad Ayyas response when he deals with inncer conflict. This study used a qualitative descriptive method and analyzed the novel based on a psychology literary approach. The result showed Muhammad Ayyas facing a dilemma about friendship, looking for a place, worship, and love. Ayyas decision always based on Islam norms and values and his logic."

"Skripsi ini membahas tentang citra diri perempuan dalam novel “Love In The Kingdom of Oil” karya Nawal el Sadaawi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan citra diri perempuan dalam novel dari aspek fisik, psikis, dan sosial masyarakat. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan struktural untuk menganalisis unsur intrinsik dalam novel. Unsur intrinsik ini menjadi dasar dalam analisis citra diri perempuan. Kesimpulan dari analisis tersebut adalah terdapat korelasi antara unsur intrinsik tema, tokoh dan penokohan, latar, dan amanat dengan penggambaran citra perempuan dalam novel tersebut.

This thesis discusses about women self image in the novel “Love In The Kingdom of Oil” by Nawal el Sadaawi. The purpose of this study to describe about women self image in the novel from the physical aspect, psychological aspect, and social aspect. This research use a structural approach to analyze the intrinsic unsure of the novel. The intrinsic elements of the basis for the analyze of the woman self image. The conclusion of this analysis is that there is a correlation between theme, character and characterization, setting, and moral with describtion of women self image in that novel."
