""Providing the world's growing population with its increasing demands for energy is a major challenge for science, business and society alike. Energy can be generated from many sources, but not all sources are suitable for every application. Much of today's technology has been built on solid, liquid and gaseous fuels derived from fossil sources. However, the supply of these is finite and their combustion produces carbon dioxide, one of the gases responsible for global warming. Therefore, alternative sources of energy are required which are renewable, sustainable and carbon neutral.".
"This textbook explores the production of biofuels as alternatives to fossil fuels, focusing on the technological issues that need to be addressed for any new fuel source. Each type of biofuel currently in production is considered in detail, covering the benefits and problems with production and use and the potential for biological material to provide sufficient energy for the world's population - the principles on which future fuel development are based."--BOOK JACKET.

Research and Production Management of Ventilator Transport Covent 20 Project: From Idea to Commercialization
A ventilator is a medical device that gives air flow (ventilation) and controls a patient’s breathing pattern based on a pneumatic system. The device was invented during the covid-19 pandemic in 2020 named COVENT-20 (Covid Ventilator 2020). This device is designed to be easy to transport and suitable for emergencies. The advantages of COVENT-20 is that it has two operation mode: (1) CPAP (continuous positive airway pressure), which works during the patient’s conscious state, supporting the lungs’ oxygenation, and (2) CMV (continuous mandatory ventilation) which works during the patient’s unconscious or difficult to breathe state and control the breathing function system. Both modes can be used at home or during mobility (in an ambulance) but not in the isolation room. The research team and developer of Ventilator UI, which I lead, are a collaboration of the researcher at the Faculty of Engineering Universitas Indonesia (FTUI) and Faculty of Medicine Universitas Indonesia (FKUI), Cipto Mangunkusuomo National Central General Hospital (RSCM), Persahabatan Central General Hospital (RSUP), Electromedical Engineering Study Program of Politeknik Kesehatan Kementerian Kesehatan Jakarta II, and Alumni association of FTUI (ILUNI FTUI).

The upstream oil and gas industries in Indonesia is operated under the term of Production Sharing Contracts PSC , which for the commercial aspects, Government entitlement shall be conducted elect to take inkind or elect not to take inkind. Analysis of revenue optimization on commercialization of crude oil lifting using linear programming methods, and the data simulation and process is using POM QM V.3 for windows software. It also conducted a sensitivity analysis of the components of the lifting revenue, entitlement and the commercialization mechanism. The sensitivity of lifting volume to total revenue on elect not to take inkind lifting mechanism resulted in higher than total revenue than elect to take inkind lifting mechanism. This is due to the value of premium sales on commercial contracts."

"Nowadays, the ready-mixed concrete (RMC) industry plays an important role in construction projects, since it has become one of the mechanisms in construction works and it has become more widely used than in the past. Increasing efficiency is focused on in order to be competitive in business. Therefore, this study aims to increase efficiency of the delivery management system by using the modeling of production planning and management of daily scheduling and dispatching of ready-mixed concrete trucks in order to solve the bottleneck problems of production, which are consequently affecting the RMC delivery process .In fact, the capacity of ready-mixed concrete machines seems to be a limitation, since concrete can only be mixed and then delivered in batches, one vehicle at a time. Earliest Due Date (EDD) and First-Come, First-Served (FCFS) are two techniques of priority rules used for RMC scheduling in providing more precision and accuracy of related inputs which can be used in order improve efficiency of the entire RMC process. In the model, factors affecting the RMC delivery process, such as distances, travel speed and travel times are determined by using GIS–Geographic Information Systems software (ArcGIS). The mapping data is also input into the construction site data, which then builds a model based on priority rules to determine the production and dispatching schedule. Preliminary results from the model indicated that delivery delays can be reduced, in addition to improving daily scheduling and reducing planning time. Moreover, the Single Machine-Multiple Sites model was applied to a concrete truck freight management company that had only one manufacturing machine and it had to deliver to several construction sites in various urban areas. By improving efficiency, by optimizing delivery times and by reducing the cost of waiting time at various sites, this PDRMC model could cut operating costs and increase the company’s revenue because there will be time for more orders."

"Along with the concept of behavioral economics, which is the combination of psychology and economics to investigate what happens in markets, this study examine the materialistic attitudes of students across a wide age span and susceptibility to peer group influence. . The design was used to test the variables of age ,susceptibility to influence (friends) and materialism. These findings appear to support the hypothesis that relationship between materialisn and susceptibility to peer influence was positive in nature. It means that students who were more susceptible to influence may also hold more materialistic values"

An increasing in global market competition forced PGT Sapuran to increase its production eficiency especially in the use of their resource. The main criteria is measured by the number of lost production, wich is defined as the difference between actual total raw material used and the finish good result in a day. As increasing in lost production means lossing more in raw material, it takes effect in reducing the company?s profit. There for an effort to control and minimize lost production number is importantly needed.
This paper focused on finding solutions to reduce the number of lost production using Six Sigma methodology. By following the methodology (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control), this paper seeks for the root caused of lost production and then find the possible solution.
As the result of the research, the performance of PGT Sapuran is in 2.3 sigma level, wich is far from the standard level performance. The main caused is the material is trown away along with water and waste, the raw material contains lot of waste, and last is leak in pipe. As solution, PGT Sapuran need to do some efforts to increase and maintain its process capability.
