"Discusses EU transport policy and approaches to planning and implementation of European corridors across multiple territorial governances Examines the impacts of current development projects from policy, procedural, technological and environmental standpoints Illuminates lessons learned from local-regional projects, in order to lay out new and re-defined planning aims and tools Based on the work of Poly5, or the Mediterranean Corridor Mega-Transport Infrastructure Project, this ground-breaking reference explains how and why traditional top-down government-defined transport planning policies are failing, due to their tendency to eschew acknowledgement of profoundly multifarious local and regional issues. The authors use cognitive reports from the Mediterranean Corridor experience as a learning platform, unpacking the tangled sources of the challenges faced to find firm ground from which to embark upon future projects. They propose the replacement of the current fragmented and unbalanced implementation efforts across various territories with a bottom-up, holistic, inclusive approach in which individual territories and regions have buy-in from the outset. This ensures that territories have a chance to bring their strengths to bear on broader infrastructural planning, benefit from an ongoing communication channel to report and tackle difficulties, and support clear, strategic directives to drive sustainable future growth of mega-transport systems."

"Infrastructure plays an important role to support the continued long-term development in order to increase economic growth. From the results of the World Economic Forum (WEF) in 2013 brought exciting news for Indonesia. One of the main programs of Mega Projects in the Infrastructure Master Plan for the Acceleration and Expansion of Indonesian Economic Development (MP3EI) 2011-2025 is the Sunda Strait Bridge (SSB) or Strategic Infrastructure and Regional Sunda Strait. The SSB will connect the islands of Sumatra and Java with a bridge at a length of ± 30 kilometers. The SBB is one of the mega infrastructure projects which is estimated to involve a total investment of US$25 Billion. This research establishes the approach to forecast demand in the case of conceptual design. The SSB is associated with innovations to determine the functions using value engineering methods. The approach involves forecasting demand with a System Dynamics simulation model that could provide a reliable estimate and generate scenarios to compare the financial feasibility of the project before and after the process involving innovation of project functions. Analysis involving demand forecasting with the System Dynamics Approach has confirmed that the Sunda Strait Bridge development with additional functions would increase the revenues of the overall project up to US$61.59 Million, in order to obtain an increased Internal Rate of Return (IRR) of the overall project up to 7.56% with a positive Net Present Value (NPV)."

"ABSTRACT

ABSTRACT
Indonesia has the big potential to grow rapidly due to the demographic bonus factor in 2045. These developments very closely related to economic growth. But, due to the fact that Indonesia is an archipelagic country, the division of development areas into six corridors, namely Sumatra, Java, Kalimantan, Sulawesi, Bali Nusa Tenggara and Papua Maluku Islands that has been implemented in the Masterplan for Acceleration and Expansion of Indonesia rsquo s Economic Development MP3EI became the best solution. One of the most important factors that contribute to country rsquo s economic growth, is the industrial sector support. To make an equitable that industrial development, it rsquo s necessary to create a development theme in each corridor through several stages of analysis that generated 1 Sumatra as National Plantation and Processing Industry Corridor, 2 Java as Cyber Technology Innovation and Service Center Corridor, 3 Kalimantan as National Energy Reserves and Processing Corridor, 4 Sulawesi as National Aquaculture and Processing Industry Corridor, 5 Bali Nusa Tenggara as National Ecotourism Center Corridor, 6 Papua Maluku Islands as National Ore Mining and Processing Corridor. However, for sustainable industrial development, infrastructure development is needed as a development catalyst. To enlarge the impact of the industry 39 s development on economic growth, it takes an unusual infrastructure. That is smart infrastructure that has some principal if applied in industrial sector, such as sustainable, integrated, smart energy and adaptive, that were designed by using benchmarking modification, that need investment cost about IDR. 559,675,115,933,400.00. That development plan need to be analyzed to make a priority plan based on three indicators, such as time, cost and development impact which will certainly be compared with the long term development plan of core infrastructure in the form of road, rail, port, airport, electricity, and ICT."

"An effective and real-time traffic information network is highly important and could contribute to decreasing traffic volume and costs by reducing fuel consumption and saving time for drivers in reaching their destinations. This study provides an extensive analysis regarding the drivers? acceptance levels of the current implementation of the Intelligent Transport System (ITS) in Kuala Lumpur. A proposed model from the literature review based on the known Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) is introduced. The ITS system characteristics, information quality, system quality, and service quality were investigated as external variables. The resulting analysis showed that information quality is the highest influential factor followed by system quality. The results also revealed that service quality had no effect on acceptance levels."

The relationship between transport infrastructure and economic growth has attracted many researchers, including in Indonesia. However, all of these studies show quite mixed results depending on the approach used, the study's location, and the time studied.
This study uses both time-series data analysis and panel data analysis to investigate the relationship between economic growth and three transport infrastructure types. By using time-series data analysis, by employing VAR/VECM, this study concludes that there is a unidirectional relationship from economic growth to the growth in road infrastructure, not vice versa, while the relationships of per capita economic growth with the growth in air and sea transport infrastructure are not significant. A similar result also has been found using panel FEM with robust standard errors. All the growths in three types of infrastructure have no significant effect on per capita economic growth. Similarly, the effects of the level of both road transportation infrastructure and sea transportation infrastructure on economic growth are also not significant. However, the effect of the level of air transportation infrastructure is significant and negative.
Furthermore, in contrast with the effect of the growth rate of transport infrastructure on economic growth, the effect of growth in gross capital formation per capita, as a proxy of infrastructure investment, is positive and significant in all equations using FEM with robust standard errors. This shows that capital investment plays an essential role in Indonesias economy and might confirm that the growth in infrastructure investment increases the demand for intermediate goods and labours, which can stimulate a multiplier effect in the economy.

Indonesia has a huge potential to lead ASEAN market. But it is constrained by inadequate infrastructure condition, especially in transport sector. To overcome the infrastructure constraints, CSID cooperate with Saatnyadidengar.org, conduct an online survey that was distributed to all region of Indonesia. The survey shows public opinion about the infrastructure development priorities, as well as the problems and the proposed solutions. This research aims to identify the problems of transport infrastructure and solutions based on the results of the online survey. This study uses content analysis method to determine the problems of transport infrastructure and solutions. The result is traffic congestion remains a major issue, followed by the lack of transport safety level, and lack of access to the inter-regional.
