"Sejak tahun 2007 materi Information Literacy (IL) terintegrasi dalam program Orientasi Belajar Mahasiswa (OBM) Universitas Indonesia. Dalam kegiatan ini, pustakawan berperan sebagai instruktur yang menyampaikan materi IL atau literasi informasi. Permasalahan dalam penelitian ini berfokus pada bagaimana ketrampilan instruktur literasi informasi OBM 2007 dalam penguasaan maupun penyampaian materi literasi informasi. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan desain deskriptif. Konsep literasi informasi mengacu pada Information Literacy Competency Standard for Higher Education yang dikeluarkan ACRL, kajian Webb dan Powis untuk konsep pengajaran, dan kajian Palan untuk menentukan tingkat kompetensi kerja.Dari analisis hasil wawancara, disimpulkan bahwa: 1) pemahaman informan terhadap konsep literasi informasi tergolong cakap (proficient); 2) dalam penguasaan literasi informasi ada tiga golongan yaitu pembelajar (learner), cakap (proficient), dan mahir (professional); 3) kemampuan informan dalam menyampaikan materi tergolong cakap (proficient). Sedangkan faktor-faktor yang memengaruhi penguasaan literasi informasi adalah pendidikan, pengalaman kerja dan pelatihan. Hasil penelitian menyarankan Perpustakaan UI menyediakan berbagai program pelatihan dalam mempersiapkan pustakawan menjadi instruktur yang efektif. Materi dalam pelatihan mencakup teori dan praktik tentang literasi informasi dan pelatihan presentasi. Pelatihan diberikan berdasarkan pada tingkat ketrampilan pustakawan.

Since 1997, Information Literacy (IL) has been integrated to the Student Learning Orientation Program of the University of Indonesia. In this program, the librarians have the role as the instructor in delivering the IL material. The focus of this research is to explore the skill of information literacy?s instructors and their ability to teach was delivered on the 2007 program. This research is a qualitative research with descriptive design. The concept of information literacy referred to Information Literacy Competency Standard for Higher Education from ACRL, the study of Webb and Powis on teaching concept, and Palan?s study on determining the competency level.The result of the interview?s analysis concludes that: 1) the interviewees? Understanding on the concept of information literacy is at the proficient level; 2) in regards to the level of information literacy knowledge, there are three types of instructors: learner, proficient, and professional; 3) the ability of instructors in teaching delivering the program is quiet proficient. The result of the research also shows that the factors affecting the ability in majoring the information literacy are: education, working experience and training. The result of this research suggests that The Library of the University of Indonesia should provide various training programs in preparing the librarians to be the effective instructors. The subjects that should be given in the training consist of theories and practical guides on information literacy and how to present them. The training will be given based on the librarians? skill level."

"Skripsi ini meneliti tentang kemampuan literasi informasi mahasiswa Fakultas Ilmu Pengetahuan Budaya Universitas Indonesia (FIB UI) Angkatan 2012 dalam kegiatan perkuliahan sehari-hari. Literasi informasi adalah kemampuan untuk menemukan, mengevaluasi dan menggunakan informasi secara efektif. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada bulan Maret-Mei tahun 2013. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode pengambilan data berupa kuesioner yang dibuat berdasarkan model literasi informasi The Big6 yang disusun oleh Eisenberg. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah bahwa mahasiswa FIB UI angkatan 2012 telah melakukan keenam tahapan The Big6 antara lain : berdiskusi dengan orang lain dalam penentuan topik, lebih memilih menggunakan search engine dalam menemukan informasi, menggunakan strategi pencarian sederhana dalam menemukan informasi dan mereka menggunakan aturan pengutipan dalam menggunakan sumber informasi.

This thesis examines the information literacy skills of undergraduate students in daily lectures activities. This thesis uses a quantitative approach, which using questionnaire for data collection. The questionnaire was made based on The Big 6 Information Literacy Models which developed by Eisenberg. The conclusion of this research is that students are rarely use the library in information literacy steps."

"What would a synthetic theory of digital, media and information Literacy (DMIL) look like? Radical information literacy presents, for the first time, a theory of DMIL that synthesises the diversity of perspectives and positions on DMIL, both in the classroom and the workplace, and within the informal learning processes of society. This title is based on original analysis of how decisions are made about the relevance of information and the other resources used in learning, showing how society has privileged objective approaches (used in rule-based decision making) to the detriment of subjective and intersubjective perspectives which promote individual and community contexts. The book goes on to analyse the academic and popular DMIL literature, showing how the field may have been, consciously or unwittingly, complicit in the ‘objectification’ of learning and the disempowerment of individuals and communities. Alternative ways of conceiving the subject are then presented, towards a reversal of these trends."

"Skripsi ini membahas tentang literasi informasi mahasiswa internasional pada Program BIPA di Fakultas Ilmu Pengetahuan Budaya Universitas Indonesia. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian studi kasus dengan pendekatan penelitian kualitatif. Informan dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 6 orang mahasiswa BIPA yang dipilih dengan metode random sampling untuk diwawancara dengan pertanyaan yang merujuk pada teori literasi informasi Big6 yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini. Penelitian dilakukan dengan menganalisis kemampuan literasi informasi informan dengan 6 tahap Big6 yaitu, definisitugas, strategi penelusuran informasi, lokasi dan akses, penggunaan informasi, sintesis, serta evaluasi. Penelitian ini menunjukkan hasil bahwa mahasiswa internasional program BIPA di FIB UI melakukan tahapan literasi informasi tanpa mereka sadari untuk memenuhi kebutuhan informasi yang timbul dari luar perkuliahan yaitu, kebutuhan informasi dasar, informasi tentang pekerjaan masing-masing, informasi tentang perbedaan bahasa kosakata dan informasi tentang hobi masing-masing informan. Hasil penelitian juga menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan literasi informasi setiap mahasiswa BIPA yang dipengaruhi oleh kemampuan Bahasa Indonesia informan, latar belakang kemampuan/pengalaman Bahasa Indonesia informan sebelum tinggal di Indonesia sebelum menjadi mahasiswa BIPA, dan lama tinggal di Indonesia.

This research aims to analyze information literacy skill of Bahasa Indonesia bagi Penutur Asing BIPA students at Universitas Indonesia in accordance with their foreign language learning need, Bahasa. Einsberg 2004 asserted that information literacy skill is important in foreign language learning. This can be seen from the purpose of foreign language learning comprising of communication, culture, relation, comparison and community which increases the need of information literacy learning to overcome the problems concerning the learning. In order to support the need, the collaboration between information literacy and the use of Bahasa by BIPA students is necessary. Lecture curricula for foreign students would be more up to date if it is adjusted to information need of the students. BIPA students are foreign students who study Indonesian language as their foreign language or it can be called as Indonesian as Foreign Language IFL. Information literacy skill of BIPA students will be analyzed using Big6, consisting of problem defining stage, information finding strategy, location and access, information use, synthesis and evaluation. This research is using qualitative approach with case study method. Data for this research is collected through interviews, observation and literature study. Research informants were 6 six people selected using random sampling. They consisted of two students from South Korea and one student from Slovakia, Japan, Netherland and Vietnam. Most existing researches discuss English as foreign language second language EFL ESL, but no research on information literacy related to Indonesian as foreign language second language. Therefore, this research is going to fill the gap between the previously conducted researches on information literacy related to language skill."

"Penelitian ini mengkaji penerapan literasi informasi oleh mahasiswa pascasarjana program studi Ilmu Perpustakaan Universitas Indonesia. Mahasiswa ini seharusnya memiliki kemampuan literasi informasi yang baik. Dalam penelitian ini fokus kajian lebih ditekankan pada kemampuan mahasiswa dalam menelusur informasi menggunakan fasilitas internet. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif. Model Empowering 8 digunakan sebagai metode dan menguji penerapan literasi informasi. Model Empowering 8 terdiri dari identifikasi, eksplorasi, seleksi, organisasi, menciptakan, presentasi, penilaian dan penerapan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa mahasiswa pascasarjana Program Studi Ilmu Perpustakaan Universitas Indonesia melakukan penerapan literasi informasi hanya beberapa tahap di Model Empowering 8. Namun tidak semua tahapan tersebut dilakukan, seperti tahapan yang termasuk pada bagian identifikasi, menciptakan, presentasi, dan penilaian.

The focus of this study is about information literacy application for postgraduate student of Library and Information Science, University of Indonesia batch 2013. The informant must have a good information literacy skill. Information literacy we talks about in this research related with internet. This study emphasize in the postgraduate student information literacy skill using internet. This is a qualitative research with descriptive methods. The analysis of this study is based on Empowering 8 model which consist of identification, exploration, selection, organization, creation, presentation, assess, and application. The result of this research suggests that the postgraduate student of Library and Information Science apply some of the steps of Empowering 8 model. The steps that are not being applied areidentification, creation, presentation, and assess."

"Skripsi ini membahas tentang kemampuan literasi informasi mahasiswa tingkat akhir Sekolah Tinggi Ilmu Ekonomi Indonesia Banking School. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengetahui kemampuan literasi informasi mahasiswa tingkat akhir STIE IBS. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan menggunakan metode studi kasus. Hasil penelitian ini memperlihatkan masih terdapat indikator ACRL Information Literacy Standard for Higher Education yang belum terpenuhi oleh mahasiswa tingkat akhir STIE IBS. Penelitian ini menyarankan STIE IBS untuk mengadakan program pelatihan literasi informasi untuk mahasiswanya.

This paper discusses about information literacy skills of final years students of Sekolah Tinggi Ilmu Ekonomi Indonesia Banking School (STIE IBS). The purpose of this research is to identify information literacy skill of final years students of STIE IBS and to identify of implementation of information literacy to support their course. This study is a qualitative research using case study design.

The results showed there are indicators of ACRL Information Literacy Standard for Higher Education that has not been met by the final year students of STIE IBS. This study suggests STIE IBS to create information literacy training for students."

"Skripsi ini mengenai keyakinan Mahasiswa Fakultas Ilmu Pengetahuan Budaya Universitas Indonesia angkatan 2014 dalam memecahkan seluruh masalah informasi. Penelitian kuantitatif dengan desain penelitian deskriptif ini menggunakan pendekatan survei deskriptif yang menguraikan tentang kategori keyaninan mahasiswa terhadap kemampuan literasi informasi mereka. Kuesioner untuk pengumpulan data menggunakan model Information Literacy Self Efficacy Scale yang diciptakan oleh Kurbanoglu, Akkoyunlu, dan Umay 2006 dan melibatkan 91 responden mahasiswa FIB UI 2014 yang sedang mengerjakan tugas akhir menggunakan teknik convenience sampling. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa secara keseluruhan mahasiswa memiliki efikasi diri literasi informasi dengan total skor rata-rata 71.06 yang tergolong tinggi. Secara terinci, efikasi mahasiswa dalam mendefinisikan kebutuhan informasi mencapai 74.29 tinggi, menilai dan memahami informasi mencapai 72.35 tinggi, menginterpretasikan, mensintesa, dan menggunakan informasi mencapai 71.21 tinggi, mengkomunikasikan informasi mencapai 70.61 tinggi, mengevaluasi hasil dan proses mencapai 70.45 tinggi, menentukan lokasi dan mengakses sumber-sumber informasi mencapai 69.38 tinggi , serta memprakarsai strategi pencarian mencapai 69.12 tinggi.

This thesis aims to study the belief of student from Faculty of Humanities Universitas Indonesia class of 2014 in solving problems regarding information. This research is a quantitative research with descriptive research design using descriptive survey approach that describes the category of students belief towards their information literacy ability. The questionnaire for data collection that used in this research is the Information Literacy Self Efficacy Scale model created by Kurbanoglu, Akkoyunlu and Umay 2006 and involving 91 FIB UI 2014 student respondents who are working on their thesis using convenience sampling technique.

The results showed that overall students have self efficacy information literacy with a total score of 71.06 average which is high. In detail, the efficacy of students in defining information needs reaches 74.29 high, assessing and comprehending information reaches 72.35 high, interpreting, synthesizing, and using information reaches 71.21 high, communicating information reaches 70.61 high evaluating the product and process reaches 70.45 high, locating and accessing information sources reaches 69.38 high, and initiating search strategy reaches 69.12 high."
