Kondisi keadaan pada saat ini, dengan teknologi broadband wireless yang ada dapat memberikan suatu cakupan area yang luas serta mampu dalam layanan data berkecepatan tinggi yang mengaplikaslkan multimedia.
Salah salu upaya untuk menyediakan jasa layanan data berkecepatan tinggi adalah dengan melakukan teknik diversitas Dimana dalam hal ini adalah teknik diversitas yang dilakukan adalah teknik divertisitas ruang (Space diversity technique).
Dalam tesis ini dilakukan simulasl teknik Space Time Block Coding (STBC) dan Space Frequency Block Coding (SFBC). Simulasi yang dilakukan adalah dengan memakai teknik pemancar tunggal clan pemancar ganda serta teknik penerima tunggal dan ganda.
Hasil pengujian menunjukkan bahwa teknik space time coding dan space frequency block coding dengan memakai teknik pemancar dan penerima ganda memiliki perfomansi yang balk dibandinkan memakai teknik pemancar tunggal penerima ganda atau sebaliknya.

One of the main challenge in telecommunication is to provide high speed data services. ln this recent condition, the broadband wireless technology could provide high scope coverage area and able to provide high speed data services using multimedia applications.
One of the efforts to proved high speed data services is to diversity technique, which means that we use space diversity technique.
ln this theses, we would use technique simulation space time block coding (STBC) and space frequency block coding (SFBC). ln this simulation we use single transmitter technique and multiple transmitter technique; we also use single receiver and multiple receiver technique.
This test result showed that using double transmitter and receiver technique in space time block coding technique and space frequency block coding will have a better performance compare to using single transmitter technique multiple receiver or on the contrary."

"Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) adalah salah satu kasus penggunaan populer di 5G, yang diharapkan dapat menggantikan layanan internet konvensional. Namun, implementasi jaringan telekomunikasi membutuhkan modal besar, sehingga harus dilakukan secara hati-hati untuk meminimalkan resiko. Secara umum, investasi jaringan dinilai dengan metode Net Present Value (NPV) standar. Ketika NPV positif, maka infrastruktur tersebut menguntungkan. Namun, NPV mungkin tidak akan seperti yang diharapkan karena ketidakpastian di masa depan. Salah satunya adalah jumlah pelanggan. Penelitian ini mengusulkan penggunaan Real Option (RO) dengan metode decision tree dan model Black Scholes untuk menganalisis implementasi jaringan FWA di kawasan urban. Dari hasil penelitian, metode NPV standar menghasilkan Expected NPV positif sebesar IDR 2.297.625.000. Namun, terdapat resiko sebesar 33% bahwa NPV akan menjadi IDR -6.093.690.000. Dengan menggunakan decision tree, memiliki pilihan untuk menunda pembangunan FWA selama satu sampai tiga tahun pembangunan FWA dapat dibatalkan apabila menghasilkan NPV negatif dan semua nilai ENPV yang lebih besar daripada tanpa pilihan untuk menunda pembangunan dimana penundaan pembaangunan FWA paling baik dengan pilihan menunda selama satu tahun. Nilai ENPV apabila terdapat pilihan untuk menunda pembangunan FWA yakni IDR 3.750.570.000 ketika menunda selama satu tahun, IDR 3.252.630.000 ketika menunda selama dua tahun, dan IDR 2.825.565.000 ketika menunda selama tiga tahun. Hasil dari metode model Black Scholes juga memiliki nilai ENPV yang lebih besar dari pada tidak memiliki pilihan untuk menunda pembangunan FWA dimana nilai ENPV paling besar apabila pembangunan dapat ditunda selama tiga tahun. Nilai ENPV dari model Black Scholes yakni: IDR 3.310.020.000 untuk penundaan pembangunan selama satu tahun, IDR 3.191.115.150 untuk penundaan pembangunan selama dua tahun, dan IDR 4.654.239.750 untuk penundaan pembangunan selama tiga tahun

Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) is one of the popular use cases in 5G, which is expected to replace conventional internet services. However, the implementation of telecommunications networks requires large capital, so it must be done carefully to minimize risks. In general, network investments are valued by the standard Net Present Value (NPV) method. When the NPV is positive, the infrastructure is profitable. However, the NPV may not be as expected due to future uncertainties. One of them is the number of customers. This study proposes the use of Real Option (RO) with the decision tree method and the Black Scholes model to analyze the implementation of the FWA network in urban areas. From the research results, the standard NPV method produces a positive Expected NPV of IDR 2,297,625,000. However, there is a 33% risk that the NPV will be IDR -6,093,690,000. By using the decision tree, having the option to delay the construction of the FWA for one to three years, the construction of the FWA can be canceled if it produces a negative NPV and still result all ENPV values are greater than without the option to postpone the construction where delaying the construction of the FWA is best with the option of delaying for one year. The ENPV value if there is an option to postpone the construction of the FWA is IDR 3,750,570,000 when delaying for one year, IDR 3,252,630,000 when delaying for two years, and IDR 2,825,565,000 when delaying for three years. The results of the Black Scholes model method also have a greater ENPV value than not having the option of delaying the construction of the FWA where the ENPV value is greatest if the construction can be delayed for three years. The ENPV values of the Black Scholes model are: IDR 3,310,020,000 for a one-year implementation delay, IDR 3,191,115,150 for a two-year implementation delay, and IDR 4,654,239,750 for a three-year implementation delay."

"Tugas akhir ini bertujuan untuk membandingkan Bluetooth dan Zigbee dari segi kinerja mereka, apakah mereka adalah pelengkap atau pesaing satu sama lain. Pada penelitian ini, penulis menggunakan metode studi literatur untuk menganalisis kinerja Bluetooth karena sudah banyaknya sumber-sumber mengenai kinerja Bluetooth yang tersedia. Sedangkan untuk menganalisis kinerja Zigbee, penulis menggunakan simulasi dengan Network Simulator versi 2 dan dilengkapi dengan studi literatur. Laporan ini juga dilengkapi dengan rekomendasi area aplikasi bagi Bluetooth dan Zigbee serta ditutup dengan posisi Zigbee dan Bluetooth dalam Wireless Personal Area Network. Adanya standardisasi, hemat tenaga, dan murah mendukung Zigbee menempatkan diri sebagai salah satu teknologi Wireless Personal Area Network yang diperhitungkan. Besar kemungkinan di masa mendatang, konsumer akan merujuk kepada Zigbee sebagaimana sekarang mereka merujuk pada Bluetooth.

The focus of this study is to compare the performance of Zigbee and Bluetooth, whether they are complementary or competing technologies. Literature study method is used to analyze the performance of Bluetooth regarding the large amount of available Bluetooth resources. A simulative investigation had been conducted to analyze the performance of Zigbee by using Network Simulator version 2, supported with literature study. This report also includes the application areas of Zigbee and Bluetooth and is concluded by stating the position of Zigbee and Bluetooth in WPAN. Standardization, low power, and low cost have placed Zigbee as a competitive technology. Consumers may someday refer to Zigbee the way they now refer to Bluetooth."

"Makalah ini menampilkan suatu kajian ekonomis terhadap transmisi nirkabel bagi telepon pedesaan yang dititik beratkan pada Rural Overlay Network (RONET) sebagai telepon 'tetap" (fixed wireless) dibandingkan dengan central lokal kabel (wireline), Public Switched Telepohone Network (PSTN). Makalah ini juga mengangkat masalah pelayanan universal dan menampilkan suatu analisis terhadap wireless yang bisa menjadi pemain yang layak secara ekonomi (viable) di lingkungan pedesaan. Pendekatan penelitian yang dilakukan adalah dengan menggabungkan beberapa bidang yang berbeda dan memperlihatkan bahwa wireless bisa diaplikasikan sebagai penyelenggara pelayanan universal di daerah pedesaan. Selain makalah ini juga membahas beberapa masalah kebijakan yang berhubungan dengan cara terbaik menangani masalah pelayanan universal dan sejauh mana permintaan sosial dapat dipenuhi.
Dengan dikeluarkannya Undang-undang No. 36 tahun 1999 tentang Telekomunikasi dan Peraturan Pemerintah No. 52 tahun 2000 tentang Penyelenggaraan Telekomunikasi, telah melahirkan suatu lingkungan kompetisi yang selanjutnya mengarah pada perebutan pasar potensial yang berada di daerah urban. Lingkungan kompetisi ini telah mengurangi kewajiban PT. Telkom sebagai perusahaan manopoli dari tanggung jawab terhadap pelayanan universal (KPU) sebagai kompensasi monopolinya. oleh karena itu perlu diupayakan suatu alternatif pengembangan jaringan telekomunikasi di daerah rural sebagai implementasi kewajihan pelayanan universal.
Sesuai dengan kondisi riil dari daerah rural seperti jumlah dan sebaran penduduk, topologi geografis serta kegiatan ekonominya. teknologi wireless merupakan suatu pilihan yang tepat. Selain aspek teknologi yang sesuai, penyelenggaraan telekomunikasi rural agar tetap menarik bagi para investor juga perlu memperhatikan aspek regulasi yang mendukung, skema-skema pembiayaan dan subsidi serta tahap-tahap operasionalnya (dari akses universal ke layanan universal).
Untuk lebih riil-nya pembahasan tentang aplikasi telekamunikasi rural berbasis wireless, makalah ini menampilkan suatu studi kasus di Kec. Lengayang, Kab. Pesisir Selalan, Propinsi Sumatera Barat. Pendekatan yang dilakukan dalam pembahasan studi kasus ini adalah suatu rencana bisnis yang mengemukakan sejumlah skenario seperti skenario investasi, skenario operasional, skenario penetapan harga dan tariff, skenario penetapan subsidi pengembangan, skenario perencanaan bisnis.

This paper presents a study of the economics viability of wireless transport focusing on Rural Overlay Network (RONET) as fixed wireless compared to the wire line local exchange, namely the Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN). The paper also addresses the issues of universal service and presents an analysis of how wireless may be a viable player in that environment. The paper combines the approaches from several different fields and demonstrates that wireless has applications as a provider of universal services in rural areas. The paper also develops several policy issues as to how best to deal with the issue of universal services and also addresses the issue of how far that social demand should be extended.
The regulation No. 36/1999 on Telecommunications and the government regulation No. 5212000 an the telecommunication operation, has emerged a competitive environment which is leading to urban potential market. The competitive environment has decreased the obligation for PT Telkom as monopoly from responsibilities to develop network in rural areas as universal service obligation (USO). An alternative for rural telecommunication development, therefore, is required to implement in fulfilling the universal service obligation.
In accordance with the real situation in rural areas such as the number of population, the density, and geographic topologies, as well as economic activities, the wireless technology has fallen to be the right choice to implement. To make rural telecommunication attractive for investors, other aspects to take into consideration besides technology aspect in providing rural services are conducive regulations, financial and subsidy schemes as well as operational steps (for example, fromUniversal Access to Universal Service).
For the real descriptions, the paper represent a case study on wireless based telecommunication in Kecamatan Lengayang, Kab. Pesisir Selatan, West Sumatra Province. The approach used in discussing the study case is a business planning which brings out a number of scenarios such as investment, operational, price and tariff selling, and development subsidy allocating as well as business plan scenarios.

"Untuk pengiriman informasi yang bersifat rahasia diperlukan jaringan yang memiliki tingkat keamanan yang cukup tinggi, salah satu caranya dengan membangun Virtual Private Network (VPN). Pada teknologi VPN, aliran data di enkripsi untuk membungkus protokol-protokol jaringan serta dapat mengamankan jalur yang digunakan. Pada skripsi ini akan dibuat sistem bernama Hybrid VPN yang dirancang untuk menciptakan sebuah jaringan dengan tingkat keamanan cukup tinggi dengan menggabungkan dua buah metode VPN yang memiliki kelemahan dan kelebihan masing-masing. Untuk mengetahui performansi dari jaringan ini akan diukur beberapa parameter Quality of Service (QoS) untuk video streaming seperti throughput, delay, jitter, dan packet loss. Hasil Pengukuran membuktikan bahwa jaringan Hybrid VPN memiliki standar QoS yang baik untuk video dengan bitrate 1200 Kbps dengan nilai throughput sebesar 873.92 Kbps, Delay sebesar 40.51 ms, Jitter sebesar 59.62 ms, dan Packet Loss sebesar 12.62%.

For delivering some confidential information, network must have a high level of security, such as implementing a Virtual Private Network (VPN). On VPN technology, the flow of data is encrypted to encapsulate network protocols and can be used to securing the path. A system called Hybrid VPN is designed to create a network with a high level of security by combining two methods of VPN that has the advantages and disadvantages each other. To determine the performance of these networks, it will be measured several parameters of Quality of Service (QoS) for video streaming such as throughput, delay, jitter, and packet loss. The results prove that the network with a Hybrid VPN has a good QoS for video streaming on 1200 Kbps of video bitrate with 873.92 Kbps of throughput, 40.51 ms of Delay, 59.62 ms of Jitter and 12.62% of Packet Loss."

"Jaringan mobile ad hoc adalah jaringan wireless yang terdiri dari node-node bergerak yang berkomunikasi tanpa melalui access point atau pun server. Kinerja protokol dan aplikasi MANET sangat dipengaruhi oleh frekuensi perubahan topologi jaringan dan model mobilitas yang berbeda yang dapat menyebabkan rute terputus karena node keluar dari jangkauan sinyal transmisi. Penerapan algoritma clustering dapat mengatasi kekurangan pada MANET seperti skalabilitas, keterbatasan sumber daya serta topologi yang dinamis.
Skripsi ini menggunakan algoritma DMP, sebuah algoritma clustering yang dapat beradaptasi dengan cepat terhadap perubahan topologi dan mengurangi pemilihan ulang cluster head sehingga stabilitas jaringan cluster dapat tercapai. Skripsi ini menganalisis perbandingan kinerja beberapa model mobilitas node terhadap stabilitas jaringan dan konsumsi energi pada MANET dengan algoritma clustering DMP. Stabilitas jaringan dinilai berdasarkan rata-rata jumlah cluster terhadap kecepatan maksimum node dan lama waktu simulasi, rata-rata jumlah anggota cluster terhadap kecepatan maksimum node dan waktu simulasi serta konsumsi energi terhadap waktu simulasi. Penelitian dilakukan menggunakan simulasi Network Simulator 2 (NS-2) versi 2.29 dan Bonnmotion versi 2.0 sebagai generator skenario mobilitasnya. Simulasi dijalankan pada sistem operasi Linux Ubuntu 12.04 LTS.
Dari hasil simulasi didapatkan bahwa model mobilitas RWP lebih stabil dari segi jumlah cluster untuk jumlah node 10, 40, dan 100 secara berturut-turut 5-6, 11-14,19-20 cluster. Dari segi jumlah anggota cluster, kestabilan jumlah anggota cluster menurun untuk ketiga model mobilitas. Dari segi total konsumsi energi, model mobilitas RWP lebih hemat dengan rata-rata total konsumsi energi pada jumlah node 10, 40 dan 100 secara berturut-turut 20, 43 dan 138 Joule.

Mobile ad hoc network is a wireless network which consists of mobile nodes that communicate without access point or server. Performance of MANET protocols and applications is strongly influenced by the frequency of changes in the network topology and the different mobility models that may lead to broken link because the nodes are out of signal transmission range. Implementation of clustering algorithms can solve the problems on MANET such as scalability, lack of resources and dynamic topology. In this work we use DMP algorithm, a clustering algorithm that can adapt quickly to the changes in topology and reduces re-election of the cluster head, so that stability of the cluster network can be achieved.
This work analyzes the performance comparison of several node mobility models to the network stability and energy consumption in MANET with DMP clustering algorithm. Network stability is assessed based on the average number of cluster to the maximum speed of the node and to the duration of the simulation, the average number of cluster member to the maximum speed of the node and to the duration of the simulation and the average number of energy consumption to the duration of the simulation. The study was conducted using simulation of Network Simulator 2 (NS-2) version 2.29 and Bonnmotion version 2.0 as mobility scenario generator. The simulation is run on Linux Ubuntu 12.04 LTS operating system.
The simulation results shows that Random Waypoint mobility model is more stable in terms of cluster number for number of nodes 10, 40, and 100 respectively 5-6, 11-14,19-20 cluster. In terms of the number of cluster member , the stability number of cluster member decreases for all three mobility models. In terms of total energy consumption, Random Waypoint mobility model is more efficient to the average total energy consumption for the number of nodes of 10, 40 and 100 respectively 20, 43 and 138 Joule.
