"ABSTRAKSkripsi ini membahas sebuah cerpen Kisah Desa Pohon Murbei karya Zhu Xiaoping melalui pendekatan intrinsik dan ekstrinsik. Pengkajian intrinsik membahas mengenai tokoh dan penokohan, latar waktu dan latar tempat. Pengkajian ekstrinsik menghubungkan antara kehidupan petani Cina yang ada di dalam cerita dengan kondisi riil petani. Analisis tersebut bertujuan untuk memaparkan kegiatan yang dilakukan tokoh ldquo;aku rdquo; selama berada di Desa Pohon Murbei dan memaparkan pemahaman tokoh ldquo;aku rdquo; mengenai kehidupan petani, desa, dan tokoh Li Jindou. Kesimpulan yang didapatkan menunjukkan bahwa selama berada di Desa Pohon Murbei dan berinteraksi dengan penduduk desa, tokoh ldquo;aku rdquo; mendapatkan pemahaman mengenai Li Jindou dan kehidupan petani di desa yang sesungguhnya.

ABSTRAKThis thesis discusses a short story of Mulberry Tree Village by Zhu Xiaoping through intrinsic and extrinsic approaches. Intrinsic review discusses characters and characterizations, setting of place and time. Extrinsic assessment links the life of Chinese farmers in the story to the real condition of farmers. The analysis aims to describe the activities of the I figure during his stay in the Mulberry Tree Village and describes the I understanding of the life of the peasants, village, and Li Jindou. The conclusions show that while in the Mulberry Tree Village and interacting with the villagers, the I figure gained an understanding of Li Jindou and the peasant life in the real village."

"Cerpen Shigu (事故) atau Kecelakaan adalah cerpen yang ditulis oleh Murong Xuecun pada tahun 2012. Isi dari cerpen ini menceritakan peristiwa kecelakaan yang terjadi antara Pengacara dan Petani Tua di jalan, dan juga hadirnya seorang polisi untuk penyelesaian masalah. Beberapa Peneliti pernah melakukan kajian atas cerpen ini, fokus pembahasan mereka terletak pada salah satu tokoh dalam cerpen saja dan juga latar peristiwa yang dianggap mirip dengan kasus yang pernah terjadi di Cina pada tahun 2010. Cerpen ini meski singkat, menghadirkan alur cerita dari setiap tokoh yang terlibat peristiwa kecelakaan tersebut. Gambaran tokoh dalam berlalu lintas dan sikapnya, berikut kehadiran polisi dalam menangani kejadian disajikan cukup detil oleh pengarangnya. Poin-poin ini justru belum menjadi perhatian dari penelitian terdahulu. Dengan menggunakan pendekatan instrinsik didapat kesimpulan bahwa semua tokoh yang hadir dalam peristiwa kecelakaan tersebut masing-masing memiliki kesalahan, pengarang sebagai orang yang cukup paham pada masalah hukum, nampaknya menuliskan cerpen ini sebagai bentuk kepeduliannya terhadap masyarakat dan tindak berlalu lintas.

The short story Shigu (事故) or The Accident is a short story written by Murong Xuecun in 2012. The contents of this short story tell about an accident that happened between Lawyer and Old Farmer on the road, and also the presence of a policeman to solve the problem. Several researchers have conducted studies on this short story, the focus of their discussion lies on one of the characters in the short story and also the background of events that are considered similar to the case that occurred in China in 2010. This short story, although short, presents the storyline of each character who involved in the accident. The description of the character in traffic and their attitude, along with the presence of the police in handling the incident, is presented in sufficient detail by the author. These points have not been the concern of previous studies. By using the intrinsic approach, it can be concluded that all the characters present at the accident each had mistakes, the author as a person who is quite knowledgeable about legal issues, seems to write this short story as a form of concern for the community and traffic acts."

"Posisi Terbalik Daoli (倒立) adalah sebuah cerpen karya Mo Yan. Cerpen ini bercerita tentang acara reuni yang dihadiri oleh tujuh orang teman SMA. Mereka mengadakan reuni setelah 20 tahun tidak bertemu. Reuni diadakan oleh Sun Dasheng di sebuah restoran Barat. Dari cerpen dapat terlihat perbandingan kondisi beberapa tokoh saat masa SMA dengan masa kini. Dari beberapa penelitian terdahulu, dinyatakan bahwa cerpen ini mengungkapkan distorsi sifat manusia yang dapat dilihat dari sikap para tokoh saat reuni berlangsung. Setelah membaca berulang cerpen maka saya mendapati bahwa perbandingan perbedaan para tokoh saat SMA dengan saat reuni dan latar waktu cerpen merupakan unsur penting yang belum dikaji oleh penelitian terdahulu. Penelitian ini utamanya membedah cerpen secara intrinsik. Kesimpulan yang didapatkan dari penelitian ini adalah judul Daoli (倒立) memiliki makna posisi terbalik. Posisi terbalik tersebut dapat dilihat dari kedudukan yang dimiliki Sun Dasheng dan tokoh lainnya saat reuni berlangsung. Kondisi sosial yang melatarbelakangi cerpen ini adalah perubahan yang dialami Cina dari masa Revolusi Kebudayaan ke Reformasi dan Keterbukaan. Revolusi Kebudayaan dan Reformasi & Keterbukaan memunculkan dua keadaan untuk Cina, yaitu keadaan baik dan kurang baik.

Reverse Position Daoli (倒立) is a short story by Mo Yan. This short story is about a reunion event seven high school friends attended. They held a reunion after 20 years of not seeing each other. Sun Dasheng held the reunion at a Western restaurant. From the short story, one can see a comparison of the conditions of some of the characters in high school with the present. Several previous studies stated that this short story reveals a distortion of human nature, which can be seen from the characters' attitudes during the reunion. After reading the short story repeatedly, I found that comparing the differences between the characters in high school with the reunion and the time setting of the short story is an important element that has not been studied by previous research. This research primarily dissects short stories intrinsically. The conclusion obtained from this study is that the title Daoli (倒立) has the meaning of a reversed position. This reversed position can be seen from the positions Sun Dasheng and other figures held during the reunion. The social condition behind this short story is China's change in social situations from the Cultural Revolution to Economic Reform. The Cultural Revolution and Economic Reform created two conditions for China: the good and the bad."

"Artikel ini berisi tentang analisis tokoh dan penokohan dalam cerpen Месть/Dendam dalam kumpulan cerpen Жила-была женщина которая хотела убить ребенка своей соседки/Alkisah Seorang Perempuan yang Mencoba Membunuh Bayi Tetangganya karya Lyudmila Petrushevskaya yaitu Raya dan Zina. Metode yang digunakan untuk meneliti dalam artikel ini adalah metode deskriptif-analitis dengan penerapan teori penokohan dan pendekatan psikologi sastra. Hasil penelitan menjelaskan bahwa keseluruhan tema cerita pendek ini adalah tentang iri dengki dan pembalasan dendam dengan sisi psikologis tokoh yang berbeda-beda. Baik tokoh Raya maupun Zina memiliki watak yang berbeda dan memiliki alasan psikologis masing-masing dalam perilaku mereka, yaitu Raya yang berbuat jahat karena merasa iri kepada Zina dan Zina yang membalas perbuatan Raya dengan diam-diam. Tokoh Raya dapat diklasifikasikan sebagai tokoh atasan dan antagonis, sedangkan tokoh Zina adalah tokoh bawahan dan protagonis.

This article contains the character and characterization analysis of the short story Месть/Dendam in the short stories collection Жила-была женщина которая хотела убить ребенка своей соседки/Once a Woman Tried to Kill Her Neighbor's Baby by Lyudmila Petrushevskaya, namely Raya and Zina. The method used to research in this article is a descriptive-analytical method with the application of characterization theory and a literary psychology approach. The results of the research explain that the overall theme of this short story is about envy and revenge with different psychological sides of the characters. Both Raya and Zina have different characters and have psychological reasons for their behavior, Raya who does evil because she feels jealous of Zina and Zina who secretly repays Raya's actions. Raya's character can be classified as a superior and antagonist character, while Zina's character is a subordinate character and protagonist."

"Cerpen Ciuman Pertama (初吻) karya Zhang Xianliang adalah cerpen yang mengisahkan berpindahnya tokoh “aku” ke kota baru, yang membuatnya berkenalan dengan seorang gadis, dan menjadi teman hanya dalam waktu yang singkat. Beberapa penelitian terdahulu mengkaji Ciuman Pertama melalui gambaran kecantikan tokoh “gadis”, kekuatan narasi dalam cerpen maupun aspek “Oedipus kompleks” tokoh “Aku”. Penelitian ini mengungkap bahwa sudut pandang tokoh “Aku” serta latar tempat, waktu dan peristiwa sebagai aspek penting dalam mengungkap persoalan yang diangkat dalam cerpen. Dengan demikian, penelitian dilakukan dengan pendekatan intrinsik melaluiunsur yang ada dalam karya sastra. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini yaitu walaupun judul cerpen adalah Ciuman Pertama, namun narasi yang muncul dari sudut pandang tokoh “Aku” membuat pembaca menemukan sisi lain bahwa kondisi politik dan Perang Saudara di Cina pada 1945-1949 yang secara tak langsung telah membuat pertemanan tokoh “Aku” dan tokoh “Gadis” nantinya tidak dapat berlangsung lama karena mere harus berpisah tempat tinggal.

Some previous studies have analyzed the "First Kiss" through the depiction of the girl's beauty, the narrative power in the story, and the "Oedipus complex" aspect of the protagonist. These studies reveal that the perspective of the protagonist and the background of the setting, time, and events are crucial aspects in unraveling the issues raised in the story. Thus, this research is conducted with an intrinsic approach by examining the elements present in the literary work. The conclusion of this study is that despite the title being "First Kiss," the narrative from the protagonist's perspective allows readers to discover another aspect: the political situation and the Chinese Civil War during 1945-1949, which indirectly led to the short-lived friendship between the protagonist and the girl, as they had to be separated."

Translation is not only a process of transferring one text to a different language, but it is "rendering the meaning of a text into another language in the way that the author intended the text" (Newmark in Haque, 2012). In fulfilling the function of translation, then, is a difficult one, especially in the field of literary. One publisher who has translated classic literary into Indonesian is Fiksi Lotus with one of its prose "Charles" by Shirley Jackson. Similar to her other works, "Charles" is a prose which offers a twist at the end, and this is achieved with the help of foreshadowing through the main character Laurie. However, along the translation, there seems to be a difference with the source text, whether it is the deep or surface meaning. Thus, an analysis of the translation of the short story, specifically of the characterization of Laurie depicted through his speech, action, and direct description in the Indonesian version of the story Charles by understanding both the propositional and expressive meaning, is needed in order to see whether it has fulfilled the intended message which is being conveyed by the source text."
