"This paper is a summary of methods used in teaching listening by utilizing listening strategies to promote the listening comprehension of Japanese students studying the Thai language. The subjects were 15 students who enrolled in the course Thai 14, Listening 2, semester 2, academic year 2018, Osaka University. The course met for 90 minutes once a week for 15 weeks per semester. The research objectives of the course were: 1) to investigate the effectiveness of the implementation of listening instruction using teaching strategies for listening comprehension; and 2) to investigate the subjects' satisfaction with the teaching strategies used. Listening is a major component in language learning because it provides language input for the learner, so listening comprehension is considered to be an essential component of language learning. A number of scholars in language teaching have proposed different methods for teaching students how to learn to listen based on the three steps of listening : pre-, while- and post listening. Three models of learning for listening have been proposed: 1) a bottom-up process, 2) a top-down process and 3) an interactive process. The teaching model developed and used in this study focused on all three steps of listening and combined the above three models of the learning process. Original texts and authentic learning were also essential components in this study. Listening comprehension exercises are being implemented during all stages of learning, and the task observation forms of the instructor will be analyzed in order to assess the development of the students' listening skills. In the last week of semester 2, the students will complete a questionnaire and an interview. Research results will be reported in qualitative form."

"Pemahaman lisan berperan penting dalam proses belajar di sekolah dasar. Memahami materi ceramah yang disampaikan guru kadang menjadi hal yang sulit bagi siswa.Penelitian ini bertujuan meningkatkan pemahaman lisan pada siswa melalui penggunaan mind map sebagai metode mencatat saat mendengarkan. Penelitiansmall N designini melibatkan D (laki-laki, 11 tahun), siswa kelas 5 SD, sebagai partisipan penelitian.Program intervensi yang diberikan berupa pelatihan mind mapsebanyak 5 sesiyang dilaksanakan di sekolah dengan menyertakan dua orang siswa tambahan.Pemahaman lisan diukur pada tahap pemahaman literal dengan pemberian pre-test dan post-test, berupa tugas mendengarkan pembacaan teks narasi dan teks eksposisi kemudian menuliskan kembali sebanyak-banyaknya gagasan yang diingat dari teks tersebut.Data hasil penelitian dianalisis secara kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Hasil menunjukkan adanya peningkatan skor pemahaman lisan pada post-test dan pernyataan positif dari D bahwa penggunaan mind map untuk mencatat selama tugas mendengarkan membantunya dalam mengingat dan memahami informasi.
Listening comprehension plays an important role in the learning process in primary schools. Understanding lecture material sometimes be difficult for students. This research aims to improve student?s listening comprehension through the use of mind map as a method of note-taking while listening. Using small N design, this research involved D (male, 11 years), a fifth grade student, as the research participant. Mind map training conducted in 5 sessions delivered at school and included two additional students. Listening comprehension was measured on the literal comprehension in pre-test and post-test. The tests were listening tasks contained narrative and expository text, that required participant to find ideas quickly and expressed ideas through writing. The data were analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively.The results show an increase in post-test scores on the listening comprehension and some positive statement of D that the use of mind map for taking notes during listening had helped him in recalling and understanding information."

"Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mencari tahu keefektifan penggunaan lagu pop berbahasa inggris terhadap pemahaman menyimak siswa dikelas sepuluh di SMAN 5 Kota Serang. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa yang ada dikelas sepuluh di SMAN 5 Kota Serang, dan sampelnya adalah kelas X Mipa 4 sebagai kelas experimental dan X Mipa 3 sebagai kelas kontrol. Peneliti menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan menerapkan true experimental design. Instrument dalam penelitian ini menggunakan tes. Hasil nilai rata-rata siswa ppst-test adalah 78 untuk experimental dan 71.67 untuk kelas kontrol. Itu bisa disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan lagu pop berbahasa inggris efektif terhadap pemahaman siswa dalam menyimak. Maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan lagu berbahasa onggris efektif untuk meningkatkan kemampuan menyimak para siswa dan para guru dapat menggunakan lagu pop berbahasa inggris sebagai media untuk membantu kesulitan para siswa khsusnya dalam hal menyimak dan juga meningkatkan kemampuan menyimak mereka."

"Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mencari tahu keefektifan penggunaan Randall ESL Cyber Listening Lab terhadap pemahaman menyimak siswa dikelas sebelas di SMA PRISMA kota Serang. Peneliti menggunakan penelitian quantitative dengan menggunakan design true experimental. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa yang ada dikelas sebelas di SMA PRISMA Kota Serang. Sampel dalam penelitian ini terdiri dari 2 kelas, yaitu kelas XI IPS 1 sebagai kelas experimental dan XI IPS II sebagai kelas kontrol. Masing-masing kelas terdiri dari 20 siswa adalah kelas X Mipa 4 sebagai kelas experimental dan X Mipa 3 sebagai kelas kontrol. Instrument dalam penelitian ini menggunakan tes menyimak. itu bisa disimpulkan bahwa null hypothesis diterima. Bisa disimpulkan bahwa Randall ESL Cyber Listening Lab effective sebagai media terhadap siswa dalam pemahaman menyimak dikelas sebelas di SMA PRISMA Kota Serang."

"Geometry is a basic mathematical concept studied at all education levels. However empirical evidence suggests there are many students who have difficulties learning geometry. One of many factors that enhances the success of students' understanding of geometry is students' sense of spatial ability. Seeking ways to support students' development of spatial sense, researchers studied the impact of Computer-Based Interactive Multimedia Instruction. This study was quasi experimental in nature with Pretest and Post-test Control Group Design. The participants of the study were second grade students of two public junior high schools that were classified as schoolsof high and middle level ranking, in Bandung. The instruments utilized in this study consisted of prior mathematical skill test (KAM) and spatial sense ability test. The results suggested that: (1a) generally the students' spatial sense ability and learning independency were enhanced using Computer-Based Interactive Multimedia Instruction, compared with conventional learning; (1b) there were no differences in the enhancement achievements between students' spatial sense ability and conventional learning related to school ranking level; (1c) according to KAM, there were significant enhancements of students' spatial sense ability between high, middle, and low KAM; (2) There is no interaction of effect between learning (CBIM and CVL) and school level to the enhancement of ability of students' spatial sense. (3) There is no interaction of effect between learning (CBM and CVL) and KAM to the enhancement of ability of students's spatial sense."
