"ABSTRAK
This study aimed at evaluating the performance of one ecotourism spots namely Pulau Merah, the beach which is located within the forest area in Banyuwangi, East Java. According to number of its visitors, Pulau Merah is potential to be developed as an ecotourism destination. In addition, it is located near the Sukamade beach, one of the Triangle Diamond which is set as main tourism destination by the local government of Banyuwangi. The IPA (importance-performance analysis) was conducted to assess performance of Pulau Merah and its development priority by distributing questionnaire to visitors. The research reveals that the main priority of improvement for Pulau Merah are road access to location, increase of electricity and telecommunication network, improvement of beach area cleanliness, improvement of public toilets and washing facilities quality,addition number of trash can and addition of warning boards of danger, and warning boards not to exploit plants and animals in the beach areas."

"ABSTRAK
Rapid decrease in soil fertility follows clearing of forests in the humid tropics and main processes triggered by the removal of vegetation cover are reviewed. The soil of forests, cleared to provide land for cultivation of annual foodcrops are clearly showing a decrease in fertility. This unfortunate phenomena occur mainly in areas of the Indonesian Archipelago located within a belt consisting of areas with 12 months of rainfall and monthly means of 75 and more millimeters. Monocultural cultivation of annual crops in these areas is likely to deplete soil of its fertility and unless flooded field techniques of cultivation is involved, it might seem very unlikely that in the future, the use of annual food crops to cultivate cleared forest lands, such as of common practice today, could be maintained without sacrificing soil fertility and destruction. In many parts of the Archipelago, deforestation of areas to cultivate annual foodcrops is likely to invite processes leading to the fatal destruction of its soil. Unless arboriculture (tree cultivation), imitating tropical rainforest forests, is practiced to produce food, replacing the present traditional production of staple food starch by annual crops, the degradation of the environment will continue ending in an unsustainable, profitable agriculture. A perennial tree likely to become on of the best candidate for this purpose is the sagopalm. Metroxylon spp., an incredibility potent starch producer. The capacity and possibility of this starch producing parennial to fulfill the growing needs of food are reviewed here. Sagopalm plantations, or rather forests, covering a total area of not more than half the size of West-Java, would theoretically be sufficient to continually supply food starch to free no less than 400 million population from hunger. The advantages and superiorities of the sagopalm cultivation compared to other food-starch annual cultures are also discussed."

"ABSTRAK
Tugas akhir ini secara luas membahas mengenai perkembangan Pulau Batam dan
sekitarnya (Pulau Rempang dan Pulau Galang). Lebih khusus lagi, tugas akhir ini lebih
jauh membahas bagaimana Pulau Batam, sebagai salah satu kawasan lndustri strategis di
Indonesia, sebagai basis untuk meningkatkan ekspor nonmigaS, meningkatkan daya
saingnya dalam upaya merebut penanam modal asing terhadap pesaing-pesaingnya baik
dari dalam negeri maupun luar negeri.
Persaingan dalam memperebutkan investor asing ini pada dasarnya adalah dalani
hal memperebutkaii modal, teknologi dan manajemen, yang dipunyai oleh negara-negara
yang lebih maju. Sehingga diharapkan dengan semakin banyaknya modal asing yang
masuk alcan eningkatkii1 proses transfer teknologi, manajemen dan akumulasi modal
bagi perekonomian. Pulau Batam dan sekitarnya dalam hal ini masih mengalami
ketertinggalan dibandingkan daerah-daerah ekonomi khusus di negara tetangga. Namun
ada satu keunggulan penting yang menyebabkan Pulau Batam dan sekitarnya begitu
berambisi untuk terus tumbuh dan berkembang menjadi suatu kawasan berikat atau
daerah industri unggulan di negara ini, yaitu dukungan dan faktor kedekatan wilayah
dengan Singapura.
Dalam pembahasan ini permasalahafl yang alcan diungkaPkafl adalah bagaimana
seharusnya strategi pengembangan Pulau Batam untuk tnenjadikafl kawasan yang
menanik dan menguntungkafl bagi para investor, terutama dalam bersaing dengan negara
negara berkembang lainnya di kawasan Asia Pasifik.
Sedangkan beberapa kelemahan yang membuat Pulau Batam kurang dapat bersaing
dengan kompetitor lainnya lebih banyak karena kurang dipenuhinya faktor competitive
advantages, seperti kurangnya tenaga kerja terampil, peraturan hukum yang tidak konsisten,
efesiensi dan birokrasi dan lain-lain.
Dari hasil analisa maka menunjukkan bahwa tidak ada jalan lain bagi Pulau Batam
kecuali dengan menerapkan strategi yang lebih agresif dengan memperkuat posisi Pulau
Batam secam intern maupun secara ekstern. Strategi ini didasarkan pada kesimpulan bahwa
saat ini untuk membentuk suatu kawasan industri unggulanldaerah ekonomi khusus tidak
dapat hanya mengandalkan pembangunan infrastruktur dan dengan mengandalkan
comparative advantage dan Pulau tersebut, namun satu hal yang lebih memegang peranan
adalah bagaimana mengembangkan competitive advantage dan Pulau ini.
Salah satu strategi yang harus dilakukan Pulau Batarn adalah dengan memanfaatkan
secam maksimal kedekatan wilayah dengan Singapura sebagai pusat untuk membuka
jaringan informasi, pemasaran, fasilitas dan lain-lain. Kerja sama segitiga pertumbuhan yang
sekarang menjadi trend bagi kawasan-kawasan yang ingin memanfaatkan keunggulan
masing-masing kawasan, juga dapat dijadikan modal utama bagi melengkapi segala
kekurangan di Pulau Batam dan sekitarnya."

"Tenun ikat Sintang is one of the traditional products whose existence is threatenedwith extinction. The purpose of this study explains how Sintang community’s strategiesand local governments respond to these threats through policy and cooperation in thedevelopment of weaving products. This study used library method and fieldobservations. Interviews were conducted with artisans, private organizations (NGO) andlocal governments. The results of this study were variety of efforts such as the developmentof human resources artisans, provision of raw materials, product diversification, the provisionof the means of production and marketing. In order for this strategy to work well it needed theintervention of authorities and institution such as non-governmental organizations suchand the local government. Despite efforts towards the developmen had been done,the problems still remain especially in the supply of raw materials on natural resources inthe forest as well as marketing as the effect of high production costs that make the Ikatweaving more expensive."

"Kemajuan teknologi telekomunikasi ternyata mampu mengubah wajah dunia yang luas dan jauh menjadi lebih dekat dan terukur. Hal itu mengakibatkan hubungan komunikasi ibarat menjadi tanpa batas. Sementara perubahan yang begitu cepat dalam dekade terakhir ini, khususnya di bidang telekomunikasi di Indonesia, telah merubah model penyelenggaraan telekomunikasi, antara Iain dengan beralihnya fungsi telekomunikasi dari utilitas menjadi komoditi perdagangan; meningkatnya peran swasta sebagai-investor prasarana dan penyelenggara jasa telekomunikasi; transformasi struktur pasar telekomunikasi dari monopoli ke persaingan, dan diakuinya bahwa telekornunikasi merupakan salah satu faktor penting dan strategis dalam proses peningkatan dan daya saing ekonomi suatu bangsa.
Meskipun demikian, sampai dengan tahun 1997, Indonesia masih menempati tingkat terendah dalam hal penetrasi jaringan telepon, baik telepon tetap maupun telepon bergerak dibandingkan dengan negara-negara anggota ASEAN lainnya. Rendahnya penetrasi tersebut justru mengindikasikan bahwa masih terdapat potensi pasar yang masih dapat diraih oleh para penyelenggara jasa telekomunikasi yang sudah lebih dulu beroperasi maupun investor yang tertarik di bidang yang sama. Oleh karena itu, investasi pada pembangunan infrastruktur telekomunikasi di Indonesia masih sangat menarik dari perspektif bisnis jangka panjang.
Penelitian yang menggunakan metode deskriptif ini dilakukan suatu analisis terhadap Iingkungan PT indosat baik itu lingkungan internal maupun eksternal, sehingga didapat suatu rumusan strategi orsaing yang digunakan perusahaan.
Dari eksplorasi faktor internal dan eksternal tersebut disusun matrik GE yang merupakan gabungan dari matrik daya tarik industri dan kekuatan bisnis yang dimiliki Indosat. Hasil analisis menunjukkan Indosat memiiiki kekuatan bisnis moderat (rata-rata) dan daya tarik industri yang tinggi.
Untuk posisi seperti itu formulasi strategi Indosat adalah Strategi pertumbuhan (Growth Strategy) melalui integrasi horizontal. Strategi ini adalah suatu kegiatan untuk memperluas perusahaan dengan cara membuka jaringan di Iokasi yang Iain dan meningkaikan jenis produk serta jasa. Untuk perusahaan yang berada dalam grow attractive industry seperti industri telekomunikasi ini maka strategi yang diterapkan bertujuan untuk pengembangan pasar dan peningkatan profit.
Perusahaan dengan growth strategy dapat memperluas pasar, fasilitas produksi dan teknologi melalui pengembangan internal dan eksternal meialui akuisisi atau aliansi dengan perusahaan Iain daiam Industri yang sama (Rangkuti, 2003: 34).
Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dalam rangka aliansi strategis, PT Indosat Tbk memiliki beragam piliharl produk yang menekankan pada diferensiasi fitur/karakteristik seperti Layanan Selular (Matrix, Mentari dan IM3), SLI (001 dan 008) dan Multimedia (lM2). Untuk mencapai target strategik yaitu pasar yang luas mencakup SLI, Seluiar, lnternet, Multimedia dan Data yang meliputi pelanggan ritel, korporat dan wholesale. Indosat melakukan aliansi dengan perusahaan dari industri sejenis maupun tidak sejenis dengan menawarkan dan melakukan produk inovatif seperti Layanan email Blackberry, Multimedia, TV Kabel dan jaringan perbankan.
Untuk mempertahankan aliansi strategi, beberapa alternatif strategi yang dapat ditawarkan lndosat kepada perusahaan partner agar dapat rneningkatkan jaringan antara Iain: Perluasan jaringan seluler melaiui kerjasama dengan investor asing daiam rangka pemasangan BTS baru, Inovasi Teknoiogi yang mengarah pada Iayanan komunikasi data, Meningkatkan Brand image, Menjaga kualitas produk dan Fokus pada suatu segmen pasar tertentu.

Telecommunication technology advancement is proven to be able to change the wide and distance global dimension to be nearer and more measurable. lt makes communication is seems to be borderless. Meanwhile, fast changes in the last decade, especially in telecommunication sector in Indonesia, has changed telecommunication implementation model such as the change in telecommunication function from utility to trade commodity; the increasing private sector as infrastructure investor and telecommunication service provider; structure transformation of telecommunication market from monopoly to competition, and the acknowledgment that telecommunication is one of important and strategic factors in the increasing process and economic competitiveness of a nation.
However until the year of 1997, Indonesia is still in the lowest rank in telephone network penetration both fixed telephone and mobile telephone compared to other ASEAN countries. The low penetration in fact indicates that there is an open market prospect that is still achievable by telecommunication providers who have been operating the business for long time or investors who are interested in the same business sector. Therefore, investment in telecommunication infrastructure development in Indonesia is still very attractive in the view of long term business perspective.
The research using descriptive method is conducted by an analysis to the PT. lndosat Tbk environment both internal and external environment in order to extract competition strategy formula that is used by company.
Matrix GE is designed from the internal and external exploration factor that is a combination of industrial attractiveness Matrix and business potential of lndosat. The analysis result shows that lndosat has moderate business potential (average) and high industry attractiveness.
For such position lndosat strategy formulation is Growth Strategy with horizontal integration. This strategy is an activity to expand the company by opening network in other-location and varying products and services. For such company that is in growing attractive industry, so the strategy that is applied is aimed to develop market and to Increase prolit. Company with growth strategy can expand market, production and technology infrastructure with intemal and external development using acquisition or merger with other company of the same industry (Rangkuti, 2003:34).
Based on research in strategic alliance, PT. lndosat Tbk has various product options that are specializing in the feature differentiation/characteristic such as Cellular Service (Matrix, Mentari, and IM3), International Direct Line/SLl (001, 008) and Multimedia (IM2). To achieve strategic target namely broad market including SLI, Cellular, internet, Multimedia, and Data that include retail customer, corporate and wholesale, lnmost makes partnership with companies both of the same and different business by offering and conducting product innovation such as E-mail Service Blackberry, Multimedia, Cable TV and banking network. To maintain the strategic alliance, some strategic altematives that are able to be offered by lndosat to other company partner in order to broaden network among others; cellular network development in cooperation with foreign investor in new BTS installment, technology innovation that is directed to data communication serviw, increase brand image, maintain product quality and to focus on certain market segment.

"Industri perawatan pesawat di Indonesia hanya bisa menguasai 30-40% pasar dalam negeri. Melihat hal tersebut, organisasi harus dapat meningkatkan kinerjanya untuk dapat menguasai nilai pasar industri perawatan pesawat yang lebih besar lagi. Dalam upaya peningkatan kinerja yang ada dalam organisasi, maka harus terdapat keselarasan antara ambisi/tujuan organisasi dengan ambisi/tujuan setiap individu yang ada dalam organisasi tersebut. Karena setiap individu dalam perusahaan memiliki kontirbusi yang besar dalam mewujudkan tujuan organisasi.
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengintegrasikan Personal Balanced Scorecard dan Organizational Balanced Scorecard yang mengahasilkan Total performance scorecard (TPS) sehingga dapat dilihat hubungan antara tujuan karyawan dengan tujuan perusahaan.
Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah penghubungan antara Organizational Balanced Scorecard dengan Scorecard bidang dan rencana kinerja individu didalamnya. Dari hasil penghubungan ini dapat dilihat apakah terdapat keselarasan antara ambisi organisasi dengan ambisi stiap individu didalamnya. Hal ini akan membantu organisasi untuk melihat sejauh mana pemahaman karyawan terhadap strategi yang dibuat oleh organisasi dan melakukan perbaikan-perbaikan dalam proses perumusan strategi.

Indonesia's Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) MRO industry can take control only 30 up to 40 % of domestic market value. Based on the fact, the organization should be able to improve its performance in order to take over more value of the market. In order to improve performance within the organization, there must be a harmony between ambition / goals of the organization with ambitions / goals of each individual that exists in the organization. Because each individual of the organization has a contribution in achieving organizational goals.
This study aims to integrate the Personal Balanced Scorecard and Organizational Balanced Scorecard which design Total Performance Scorecard (TPS) that can illustrated the relationship between employees goals with corporate objectives.
The results of this study is the linking between Organizational Balanced Scorecard with Section Scorecard and Individual Performance Plans. The result of this linkage can be seen whether there is alignment between the organization's ambition with individual's ambition. This will help the organization to see understanding of each employee about strategy made by the organization and to make improvements in the strategy formulation process.

"Kemacetan lalu lintas dan polusi udara merupakan masalah transportasi di Jakarta yang sudah lama tidak kunjung usai. Oleh karena itu, Pemerintah Provinsi DKI Jakarta mulai mengubah paradigma Car Oriented Development menjadi Transit Oriented Development dalam mencapai transportasi berkelanjutan. Pemerintah Provinsi DKI Jakarta pun kemudian mengamanatkan PT MRT Jakarta sebagai pengelola kawasan TOD, salah satunya di Blok M. Dalam penyelenggaraannya, PT MRT Jakarta dapat menerapkan manajemen strategis. Tujuan dalam penelitian ini adalah menganalisis hasil dari manajemen strategis dalam penyelenggaraan transportasi umum berbasis sustainable transportation melalui TOD di Blok M. Penelitian ini menggunakan teori manajemen strategis oleh Wheelen dan Hunger (2012). Berlandaskan pendekatan post-positivist, verifikasi teori pada penelitian ini dilakukan berdasarkan pengumpulan data kualitatif melalui wawancara mendalam terhadap 7 informan, observasi, dan studi kepustakaan. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, hasil dari manajemen strategis penyelenggaraan transportasi umum berbasis sustainable transportation melalui transit oriented development di kawasan TOD Blok M masih belum optimal. Strategi dan program yang telah dilakukan dinilai sebagai upaya yang cukup baik, akan tetapi belum sesuai dengan prinsip sustainable transportation dan TOD. Hal tersebut ditunjukkan dari kualitas beberapa transportasi umum yang kurang baik, kurang memadainya jalur pejalan kaki dan jalur sepeda beserta fasilitasnya, dan kurangnya hunian terjangkau.

Traffic congestion and air pollution are transportation problems in Jakarta that have not been resolved for a long time. Therefore, the Provincial Government of DKI Jakarta has begun to change the paradigm of Car Oriented Development to Transit Oriented Development in achieving sustainable transportation. The Provincial Government of DKI Jakarta then mandated PT MRT Jakarta as the manager of the TOD area, one of which is in Blok M. In its implementation, PT MRT Jakarta can apply strategic management. The purpose of this study is to analyze the results of strategic management in the implementation of sustainable transportation-based public transportation through TOD in Blok M. This research uses strategic management theory by Wheelen and Hunger (2012). Based on a post-positivist approach, theory verification in this study was carried out based on collecting qualitative data through in-depth interviews with 7 informants, observation, and literature study. Based on the results of the research, the results of the strategic management of public transportation based on sustainable transportation through transit oriented development in the TOD Blok M area are still not optimal. The strategies and programs that have been carried out are considered a fairly good effort, however, they are not yet in accordance with the principles of sustainable transportation and TOD. This is shown by the poor quality of some public transportation, inadequate pedestrian and bicycle paths and their facilities, and lack of affordable housing."
