"The aging of gay men is as revolutionary as the movements for gay liberation and AIDS. With the aging of the Baby Boomer generation, we are witnessing a new phenomenon: gay men entering old age. This event is transforming our views of old age; the composition of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender communities; and the field of gerontology. Queer Aging addresses the timely question: What is like to be an older gay man? It brings the stories and the voices of a diverse group of men-black, Latino, and white-to uncover the aging experience and examine how race, AIDS, and age together are shaping the lives of these men.

ABSTRACT
Although since 1973 the status of homosexuality is no longer considered as insanity, the presence of homophobic society is still inevitable until now. This study, then, aims to see what was actually happening in queer worlds after gay rights movements. Applying Hall?s cultural identity and Butler?s performativity theories through the movie An Englishman in New York (2009), this paper shows that queer diaspora creates new identities for both the indigenous people and the immigrants. This piece also reveals that the reason why 1970s queers liked to show their gender identities with queer fashion was because of the pressure from homophobic society., Although since 1973 the status of homosexuality is no longer considered as insanity, the presence of homophobic society is still inevitable until now. "In this book, wide-ranging sources are utilized to seek alternatives to the science-value dichotomy and to move beyond unhelpful impasses between qualitative and quantitative methods. It urges new directions of impact for psychology through intra- and interdisciplinary collaboration in order to confront unprecedented global challenges, generate questions and articulate new possibilities for a sustainable future for humanity. The analysis places the researcher as the principal instrument of any science - an affordance and an ongoing form of demand. Foregrounding 'the personal' also emphasizes continuity across arts and sciences; the interfaces of which contain the full range of resources for innovative thinking. The enduring relevance of observation, imaginative sense-making, and perspective-taking to psychology are explored. In emphasizing that 'the person' and 'the personal' reflect interconnected systems of various levels, the book calls for an appreciation and cultivation of these activities in the psychological scientific community."
