ABSTRACT
Like with other senses, space can be experienced through touching surfaces. Different from the other type of sensing, touching requires the body to be physically close to the space we want to touch. To get close to space, the body uses different types of touch. Touch can be divided to static or tactile touching to get information on one spot of the surface, and active or haptic touching to get data about an area of a surface. Each of them have different kinds of movements to find the quality of a surface. Trace is a type of sign that shows age and use through surface quality. As trace manifests as surface quality, different types of touch can be used to experience it. Reading trace as surface quality can be done by applying the different type of movements of touch on the surface, with some movement reading more than others. p.p1 margin 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px text align justify font 10.0px Times New Roman color 000000 webkit text stroke 000000 span.s1 font kerning none "

This study aims to explore the construction of spatial experiences based on active touch within haptic space. The discussion encompasses how active touch, through tactile and kinesthetic sensory inputs integrated with visual elements, plays a role in shaping an individual's spatial experience. Integrated sensory exploration of varied spatial stimuli generates two-way interactivity that enhances engagement between the body and space. The use of contrasting spatial elements through spatial binary activates sensory experiences that bridge the physical world with digital materiality, triggering attractions and aversions within the haptic space alongside the factor of material immateriality. Through observation of interactive spaces, a case study was conducted by interpreting sensations received by the sensory system from stimuli in the haptic space through the concept of spatial binary. The findings of the case study indicate that the use of contrasting spatial elements within the spatial binary, combined with material immateriality, enhances sensory sensitivity to stimuli in the interactive space, creating compelling experiences unattainable in the physical world. This, in turn, stimulates dynamic and continuous exploratory movements through individual comprehension of attractions and aversions within the haptic space."

"This series goes in search of the biological roots of our senses and to uncover why particular sights, sounds and smells and tastes have such powerful effects on us, how we manage to block out intense pain, and why our sense of balance keeps working under the most extreme of conditions. This episode deals with vision. Why is it that humans are so good at seeing some things, at other times their brains prevent them from seeing what's right in front of their eyes."

Meconium peritonitis is a condition of aseptic peritonitis caused by a small perforation of the intestine that drains meconium into the abdominal cavity. Meconium peritonitis can be treated with exploratory laparotomy. However, post-exploratory laparotomy wounds can also influence the baby in the form of acute pain, impaired skin integrity and the risk of infection. Acute pain experienced by infants can certainly give a different response from adults. In infants, acute pain can be identified by the infant's crying activity. However, in dealing with acute pain in infants, pharmacological measures cannot be used because infants are still very susceptible to side effects from it. Therefore, in this paper. The author tries to analyze the effectiveness of non-pharmacological techniques, namely touch therapy to treat acute pain in infants during their treatment in the hospital. In the case of Mrs. N baby, it was found that touch therapy can be effectively used to treat acute pain after exploratory laparotomy in meconium peritonitis infants."

Sense of place, which is a relationship between humans and places based on sensory experience, can be found through a combination of physical settings (penataan fisik), activity (aktivitas) and meaning (makna). Sense of place can be used to see and understand a place holistically, especially to places or areas that have historical or cultural values. The cultural tradition of batik has become a part of the culture in Pekalongan and even in Indonesia. With a culture that has been passed down from generation to generation and developed, the term batik village was formed for a village where the majority of its citizens are batik craftsmen. One of them is Kauman Batik Village, Pekalongan. The Kauman Batik Village area is included in the heritage area in Pekalongan City. This area has a thick cultural tradition of batik and still leaves the Dutch Colonial era buildings used for batik production. As a tourist village, Kampung Batik Kauman does not yet have a joint batik showroom. Therefore, the Kauman Batik Village Association (PKBK) adapted one of the ancient buildings, namely Omah Lawang Sanga, which functioned as a joint batik showroom and tourist destination.
This study aims to determine how the sense of place with the influence of batik culture in the adaptation of Omah Lawang Sanga in the Kauman Batik Village area. This study uses a qualitative method that is delivered in a descriptive narrative, which is used to obtain a detailed description of the sense of place for the object of the thesis that is raised. Data was collected by means of a literature review process, interviews, observations, and searches in the field. Based on the results of the study, it shows that the sense of place in Kampung Batik Kauman is classified as high society, because the identity of the place and has been strong from the ancestral history of batik culture. Then the characteristics of the area where many colonial era buildings are found with a history as a residence for batik craftsmen. And what is no less important is the awareness and responsibility of the community for the batik cultural tradition as the basis for regional development.

"Ian Waterman lost touch and movement/position sense (proprioception) below the neck over 40 years ago, though pain and temperature perception and his peripheral movement nerves were unaffected. Without proprioceptive feedback he was completely unable to move and felt both disembodied and frightened. Then, slowly, he taught himself to dress, eat, and walk by thinking about each movement and with visual supervision. Through his experiences we can better understand proprioception. The narrative moves between biography and the scientific research he has been involved in. He has been married three times and built up successful careers in disability access audit, using his impairment to his advantage, and in rare turkey breeding and journalism. The neuroscience has led to data on movement without feedback, the pleasantness of touch, gesture, pain, and orientation of the body in space. This account shows how the science was actually done but also reveals Ians journey from passive subject to informed critic of science and scientists. His unique response to such a rare condition has also led to a BBC documentary, theatrical portrayals, and a weightless flight with NASA. As a young man Ian sought triumph over his impairment; now, nearly 65, he has more mature reflections on living with such an extraordinary loss, the limits it has imposed, and the opportunities it has enabled. He gives his views on scientists and on others he has met including Oliver Sacks and Peter Brook. In an Afterword those from science, the arts, and philosophy give an appreciation of his contribution."

salah satu manipulator menyentuh benda. Perbedaan antar manipulator maksimal
pada penelitian ini mencapai 6.15⁰.

Abstract
Bilateral teleoperation system is a system that able to do any work in the remote
area and allow user to experience the sensation as if the user is located in that
area. This system allow user to control the manipulator directly at a certain
distance. To support bilateral teleoperation system, it would require an actuator,
which has parameters that can be manually modified. Dynamixel AX-12+ is a
serial servo motor which has features that can support bilateral teleoperation
system with their parameters such as position reading, load reading, torque angle
and torque limit adjustment. The important parameter in dynamixel AX-12+ is to
set the value of the torque angle distribution. This parameter is useful to varying
the level of user convenience while moving the manipulator. If the torque angle
value is set to become more sloping, the user can easily move the manipulator.
Conversely, if the torque angle is set to become steeper, the user will feel heavy to
move the manipulator. This torque angle arrangement must be done carefully
because if there is a mistake in the arrangements, it can damage the internal gear
of actuator. In addition, arrangements error can make the whole system troubled.
The difference between the systems with torque adjustment algorithms and
systems that do not have a torque adjustment algorithm are the level of user
convenience and the sense of haptic effects. If the system does not use the torque
adjustment algorithm, then the manipulator can still drive easily but there is no
haptic effect. In contrast to the system that use torque adjustment algorithm, the
manipulator can still drive easily with the sense of haptic effect. This haptic effect
is also seen from the difference between manipulator?s positions when slave
manipulator touches one object. The maximum difference between manipulator in
this research reached 6.15⁰.
