"Walt Disney Studios telah menghasilkan film demi film yang merepresentasikan budaya dan berbagai pengalaman manusia. Kematian dan kedukaan adalah pengalaman manusia yang paling sering digunakan film Disney dalam plot mereka. Ada perubahan dalam cara model berkabung direpresentasikan dalam film mereka. Artikel ini mengkaji perbedaan model berduka antara film Coco (2017) dan Onward (2020). Film-film tersebut dipilih karena fokus eksplisit mereka pada kesedihan dan kematian anggota keluarga. Temuan metode analisis tekstual menunjukkan bahwa kedua film memiliki kontras yang mencolok tentang bagaimana metode kontemporer dimanifestasikan dalam karakter mereka. Coco (2017) dan Onward (2020). menggunakan model kesedihan yang berbeda dan bagaimana mereka berlanjut setelah konflik diselesaikan. Artikel ini juga menemukan bahwa makhluk mitos digunakan sebagai simbol kesedihan dan menghasilkan reaksi yang berbeda dari karakter-karakter yang ada. Walt Disney Studios have produced movies after movies that represent cultures and various human experiences. Death and grief are the most common human experience that Disney movies often use in their plots. There has been a shift in how the bereavement models are represented in their movies. This paper examines the differences of grief models between the movies Coco (2017) and Onward (2020). The movies were chosen due to their explicit focus on grief and the death of family members. The findings of the textual analysis method show that the movies have striking contrasts of how contemporary methods are manifested in their characters. Coco (2017) and Onward (2020). use different models of grief and how they are continued after conflicts are resolved. This paper also finds that mythical creatures are used as symbols of grief and result in different reactions from the characters. The evidence showed in this article suggests that Onward (2020) does not embrace the shift of contemporary bereavement models used by earlier movies in the modern Disney era."

"Penelitian ini menganalisis teknik terjemahan judul film animasi Disney dengan teori teknik penerjemahan oleh Yoko Hasegawa. Studi ini memiliki tujuan untuk mengetahui teknik penerjemahan yang digunakan dalam menerjemahkan judul film animasi Disney ke bahasa Jepang serta alasan penggunaan teknik tersebut. Metode penelitian kualitatif digunakan untuk menganalisis sumber data berupa judul film animasi Disney yang diakses dari https://www.disney.co.jp/studio/animation.html. Dari hasil penelitian ini, terdapat lima teknik yang digunakan dalam penerjemahan judul film animasi Disney, yaitu teknik borrowing, literal, modulation, equivalence, dan addition/deletion. Dalam total 57 data, terdapat 37 penggunaan teknik borrowing, 2 penggunaan teknik literal, 1 penggunaan teknik modulation, 1 penggunaan teknik equivalence, dan 34 penggunaan teknik addition/deletion. Teknik borrowing paling banyak digunakan karena kata/kalimat yang ada pada judul film tidak memiliki padanan yang baik dalam BSa dan juga digunakan untuk memperkenalkan tokoh utama dalam film tersebut.

This study analyses the translation techniques of Disney’s animated film titles by using Yoko Hasegawa’s translation techniques theory. This study aims to determine the techniques used in translating Disney’s animated film titles into Japanese and the reasons for using these techniques. Qualitative research method is used to analyse the data source of Disney’s animated film titles accessed from https://www.disney.co.jp/studio/animation.html. The results are there are 5 techniques that is used to translate Disney’s animated film titles, which is borrowing technique, literal technique, modulation technique, equivalence technique and addition/deletion technique. From the total of 57 data, there are 37 use of borrowing technique, 2 use of literal technique, 1 use of modulation technique, 1 use of equivalence technique and 34 use of addition/deletion technique. Borrowing technique is mostly used because the words/sentences in the film titles do not have a good equivalent in SL and are also used to introduce the main character in the film."

"Skripsi ini menganalisis perbedaan representasi Disney Princess yang terjadi pada kedua film animasi Disney, yaitu The Princess and the Frog dan Tangled. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membuktikan kecurigaan terhadap Disney Princess versi modern yang terkesan mendekonstruksi bentuk klasiknya. Untuk menganalisis masalah tersebut penulis menggunakan teori dekonstruksi dan feminisme pada bentuk arketipenya. Hasil penelitian membuktikan bahwa untuk beberapa dekade konsep Disney Princess telah mengalami perubahan di beberapa bagiannya. Penulis menganggap perubahan yang parsial tersebut bukanlah sebuah dekonstruksi melainkan sebuah inovasi dalam pembentukan Disney Princess dilihat dari sudut pandang feminisme. Dengan demikian, dapat dikatakan bahwa konsep Disney Princess tidak mengalami dekonstruksi.

This undergraduate thesis focuses on Disney Princess different representation at both Disney animated movies, The Princess and the Frog and Tangled. The aim of this research is to find out the truth about modern Disney Princess which seems to deconstruct the classical form. To analyze the problem, deconstruction and feminism theory are used toward the archetype. The result of this research indicates that in some decades, Disney Princess concept has partially changed. The changes aren’t considered as a deconstruction but an innovation regarding feminism’s point of view. Therefore, it is assumed that deconstruction doesn’t occur toward Disney Princess concept."

"Media mainstream telah menggambarkan kehidupan ibu tunggal sepanjang sejarah, salah satunya melalui Disney's Coco (2017) yang disutradarai oleh Lee Unkrich, dimana film Coco (2017) menjadi korpus analisis untuk artikel ini. Melalui penelitian ini, penggambaran tokoh-tokoh ibu tunggal dalam film tersebut dieksplorasi dan bagaimana hal tersebut dapat menunjang alur film tersebut. Metode utamanya adalah analisis tekstual berdasarkan teori representasi Stuart Hall dan teori film David Bordwell et al. tentang kostum dan posisi kamera. Adegan, dialog, dan penokohan yang menonjol dari film tersebut dipilih dan ditafsirkan sesuai dengan peran karakter ibu tunggal. Struktur analisisnya terdiri dari penjelasan tentang pengorbanan ibu tunggal dalam film ini dan masalah keluarga yang melingkupi ibu tunggal tersebut. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggambaran ibu tunggal penting untuk memberikan gambaran tentang isu-isu yang ibu tunggal alami dalam kehidupan nyata, serta seberapa signifikan masalah tersebut untuk plot dan konflik yang berada di film ini.

Mainstream media has been portraying the life of single mothers throughout history. One of them is through Disney’s Coco (2017), directed by Lee Unkrich, which is the corpus of analysis for this article. Through this research, the representation of single mother characters in the movie is explored and how it is significant to support the movie’s plot. The main method is textual analysis based on Stuart Hall’s theory of representation and David Bordwell et al.`s film theories about costume and camera position. Prominent scenes, dialogues, and characterization from the movie are selected and interpreted regarding the single mother characters’ roles. The structure of the analysis consists of the explanation on the sacrifices of single mothers in this movie and the family matters that surrounds these single mothers. The result of this research shows that the portrayal of single mothers is important to give image regarding the issues that surround single mothers in real life, as well as how significant it is for the importance of the film’s plot and conflicts."
