"Penelitian ini berfokus pada metode peningkatan kualitas produk dari proses mesin Injection Moulding dengan pendekatan DMAIC Six Sigma. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah menganalisa penyebab defect pada proses mesin injection moulding dan mengetahui tindakan perbaikan yang harus dilakukan, untuk meminimalisasi defect yang terjadi agar mendapatkan kualitas terbaik dari produk sehingga perusahaan dapat bersaing dalam pasar dewasa ini, yang dinamis dan kompetitif dan juga dapat memenuhi persyaratan pelanggan.
Metode DMAIC Six Sigma terdiri lima tahap utama yaitu fase pendefinisian, fase pengukuran, fase analisa, fase perbaikan dan fase kendali. Analisis dilakukan pada proses mesin Injection Moulding 160 Ton yang menghasilkan produk cacat.
Pada akhir penelitian ini, dengan menggunakan analisa Diagram Fishbone yang meliputi: Man, Machine, Material, Methode dan Enviroment diperoleh empat tahapan improvement yaitu pembersihan terhadap screw dan barrel, penggunaan polypropylene (PP) dan material khusus untuk pembersihan screw dan barrel melalui proses purging, penyetingan atau penetapan parameter optimum mesin dan melakukan training secara periodik pada karyawan.

This research focuses on methods of improving the quality products of the process Injection Moulding machine with the approach of Six Sigma DMAIC method. The purpose of this study was to analyze the cause of the defect in the process of injection molding machines and determine corrective actions that must be performe, to minimize defects that occur in order to get the best quality of products so that the company can compete in today's market, a dynamic and competitive, and also can meet the requirements customers.
Six Sigma DMAIC method consists of five main phases, namely definition phase, the phase measurement, phase analysis, phase improvement and phase control. Analysis was conducted on the 160 Ton Injection Moulding machines that produce defective products.
At the end of this study, by using the Fishbone Diagram analysis include: Man, Machine, Material, Method and Environment are four stages namely the improvement of the screw and barrel cleaning, use of polypropylene (PP) and special materials for cleaning screw and barrel through the purging process, setup or the determination of the optimum parameters of the machine and perform periodic training to employees.

"Semakin berkembangnya jaman, kualitas menjadi salah satu aspek penting dalam persaingan industri. Industri perhiasan emas adalah salah satu industri yang sangat bergantung dengan kualitas produk. Suatu perusahaan perhiasan emas yang dapat memberikan kualitas produk yang baik pada pelanggannya akan mampu bersaing di pasar. Sebaliknya, perusahaan yang gagal memberikan kualitas produk yang baik akan dengan mudah kehilangan pelanggan dan kalah bersaing di pasar. Penting bagi perusahaan untuk terus melakukan peningkatan kualitas. Salah satu metode peningkatan kualitas yang dapat digunakan adalah Six Sigma. Six Sigma bertujuan untuk mengurangi variasi proses dengan mengeliminasi defect. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada PT. X, sebuah perusahaan manufaktur perhiasan emas. PT. X terus berupaya untuk menghadirkan produk yang berkualitas untuk para pelanggannya. Namun, saat ini PT. X masih mengalami tingkat defect yang cukup tinggi di proses produksi mereka. Untuk membantu perusahaan dalam mengatasi masalah defect tersebut, penulis menggunakan metode Six Sigma. Metode Six Sigma yang digunakan menggunakan pendekatan DMAIC, yaitu define, measure, analyze, improve, dan control. Penelitian ini akan menjabarkan permasalahan yang ada di proses produksi produk perhiasan emas PT. X, mencari akar penyebab masalah, dan memberikan usulan perbaikan pada PT. X.

With the development of the era, quality has become one of the important aspects in industrial competition. The gold jewelry industry is one industry that is very dependent on product quality. A gold jewelry company that can provide good quality products to its customers will be able to compete in the market. On the other hand, companies that fail to provide good quality products will easily lose customers and lose competitiveness in the market. It is important for the company to continue to make quality improvements. One of the quality improvement methods that can be used is Six Sigma. Six Sigma aims to reduce process variation by eliminating defects. This research was conducted at PT. X, a gold jewelry manufacturing company. PT. X continues to strive to provide quality products for its customers. However, currently PT. X is still experiencing a fairly high defect rate in their production process. To assist the company in overcoming the defect problem, the author uses the Six Sigma method. The Six Sigma method used uses the DMAIC approach, namely define, measure, analyze, improve, and control. This study will describe the problems that exist in the production process of gold jewelry products PT. X, look for the root cause of the problem, and provide suggestions for improvements to PT. X.

"Bisnis telekomunikasi saat ini menuntut tiap-tiap operator telekomunikasi untuk lebih kompetitif dalam memberikan layanan yang terbaik kepada pelanggan. Operator telekomunikasi yang menghasilkan produk atau jasa layanan dengan kualitas terbaik tentunya akan dapat mengalahkan kompetitor untuk memasarkan produk dan layanan yang ditawarkan. Peningkatan kualitas suatu produk (barang/jasa) akan memberikan dampak positif kepada bisnis melalui dua cara, yakni dampak terhadap penurunan biaya operasional dan peningkatan pendapatan (Gasperz, 2001). Salah satu cara yang dapat digunakan untuk mencapai hal tersebut adalah dengan melakukan pengendalian dan peningkatan kualitas dengan Six Sigma. Six Sigma adalah konsep statistik yang mengukur suatu proses yang berkaitan dengan cacat atau kegagalan. Pada level Six Sigma, hanya terdapat 3,4 cacat dari sejuta peluang. Six Sigma juga merupakan falsafah manajemen yang berfokus untuk menghapus cacat dengan cara menekankan pemahaman, pengukuran dan perbaikan proses. Penerapan Six Sigma juga dapat dilakukan di Telkomsel. Penelitian yang dilakukan dalam tesis ini adalah penggunaan. Six Sigma untuk meminimasi jumlah keterlambatan perbaikan gangguan jaringan transmisi SDH dengan menggunakan data histori gangguan jaringan yang terjadi. Penggunaan Six Sigma akan mengevaluasi jumlah waktu yang diperlukan untuk tiap-tiap perbaikan gangguan jaringan transmisi yang terjadi. Sehingga, diharapkan secara tidak langsung akan meningkatkan pertumbuhan pelanggan dan juga pendapatan Telkomsel.

Nowadays, telecommunication business demands every telecommunication operator to be more competitive in providing best services for the customers. Those that provide the best quality of services or products will be able to be in front of their competitors in marketing their products and services. Increased the quality of products and services will provide positive impacts to the business through: minimizing operational cost and maximizing revenues (Gasperz, 2001). One way to achieve these is by controlling and increasing the quality through the concept of Six Sigma. Six Sigma is a statistical concept to measure a process which related to defects. In Six Sigma level, there will be only 3,4 defects in every one million opportunities. Six Sigma is also a management philosophy which focuses to eliminate defects by giving definition, measurement, and improvement of the processes. This concept is also applicable at Telkomsel in providing the best services to its customers. Research that is carried on this thesis is focused on the implementation of Six Sigma in order to minimize the number of delay during the restoration of faulty transmission network by using the historical data from the transmission problems. Six Sigma will evaluate the amount of time to each restoration of faulty transmission that is occurred. Furthermore, the result of this evaluation is expected to have indirect impact on increasing Telkomsel?s revenue and its customer growth."
