"Carole Campbell examines the position of women in the AIDS epidemic (women living with HIV, and the growing number of women caring for HIV-infected family members) in a sociocultural context. The early male profile of the AIDS epidemic has given rise to education and prevention programs based upon the needs of males. Campbell draws a clear connection between women's risk of AIDS, gender roles (particularly adolescent gender role socialization), and male sexual behavior, demonstrating that no efforts to contain the spread of the disease to females can succeed without also targeting the male behavior that puts women at risk. This study concludes that compared with men, HIV-infected women face unequal access to care and unequal quality of care. Campbell makes a compelling case that social institutions such as health care and the media have created barriers for women by failing to take into account the differences between men and women in terms of social roles, status, and power. Informed by the moving personal accounts of eleven HIV-infected men and women, this book offers a rare, broad picture of the sociocultural causes and the impact on American society of AIDS among women."

ABSTRACTThis thesis discusses the Coalition Strategy by IBCA Members for HIV / AIDS as aChallenges of Corporate Social Responsibility. This study used a qualitativeapproach with descriptive research. The results showed that the implementation ofCSR principles, sustainability and stakeholders, existing in the vision and mission ofIBCA but in practice has not been applied to the fullest. Furthermore coalition isgoing according to HIV/AIDS issues and the very strong commitment of members,as well as the mechanism of coalition management is good, but the incentives andbenefits for its members IBCA is not maximized"

"Obat ARV adalah obat yang digunakan untuk menghambat perkembangan virus HIV dan memperpanjang harapan hidup ODHA (Orang Dengan HIV/AIDS). Kompleksitas demand obat ARV sangat dipengaruhi oleh pola penularan penyakit HIV/AIDS, tuntutan pengobatan seumur hidup, dampak program jangkauan pelayanan ART dan tingkat kepatuhan pasien. Oleh karena itu diperlukan suatu perancangan model inventory yang menjamin service level di rumah sakit yang tinggi. Tesis ini membahas mengenai cara perancangan model inventory sistem logistik desentralisasi obat ARV berdasarkan model epidemi penyakit HIV/AIDS dengan pendekatan sistem dinamis. Penggunaan sistem dinamis dapat menunjukkan keterkaitan hubungan antara model epidemi penyakit HIV/AIDS dengan model inventory. Hasil perancangan model kemudian diverifikasi dan divalidasi dengan serangkaian pengujian. Struktur prilaku dari model yang dihasilkan menunjukkan prilaku yang sama dengan keadaan yang sebenarnya. Hasil dari analisa kebijakan inventory untuk sistem logistik desentralisasi dengan sistem dinamis menunjukkan bahwa kebijakan buffer inventory di rumah sakit sebesar 2.5 bulan , gudang propinsi 4 bulan dan gudang pusat 15 bulan tetap menghasilkan service level 100% dan inventory cost yang minimal.

ARV Drugs are drugs used to hinder the development of HIV virus and prolong life expectancy of People Living with HIV/AIDS (ODHA/Orang Dengan HIV/AIDS). The demand complexity of ARV drugs is largely influenced by infection pattern of HIV/AIDS disease, requirement of lifetime treatment, impact of ART outreach program and patient adherence level. There is a need for an inventory model design that guarantees high service level at hospitals. This thesis explains about inventory model design of ARV drugs decentralization logistics system based on HIV/AIDS epidemic model with dynamic system approach. The use of dynamic approach can show relationship between HIV/AIDS epidemic model and inventory model. The result of model design is then verified and validated with a series of testing. Behavioral structure of the result model shows the same behavior occuring in real situation. The result of inventory policy analysis for decentralization logistics system with dynamic system shows that inventory buffer policy at hospitals for 2,5 months, provincial warehouse for 4 months and central warehouse for 15 months still results in 100% service level and minimum inventory cost."

"ABSTRAKProblematika pengelolaan program HIV/AIDS muncul ketika suatu organisasisosial keagamaan menjalankan program ini. Organisasi keagamaan dituntut untukmampu menjalankan program secara efektif. Namun demikian dalamimplementasinya akan berhadapan dengan ?body of knowledge? dari programHIV/AIDS. Oleh karenanya kemampuan organisasi untuk merespon programmenjadi sesuatu yang krusial. Organisasi keagamaan memiliki peran untuk tetapmemegang nilai keagamaan namun tidak bertentangan dengan strategi yangdimiliki oleh program HIV. Penelitian mengeksplorasi tiga isu dalam LembagaKesehatan Nahdlatul Ulama. Tiga hal tersebut adalah interaksi nilai dan norma,upaya membangun legitimasi organisasi, dan kemampuan organisasi melakukanmanajemen pengetahuan. Metode penelitian kualitatif digunakan untukmengeksplorasi ketiga topik permasalahan di atas. Hasil dari studi menunjukkanbahwa Lembaga Kesehatan Nahdlatul Ulama sebagai organisasi sosialkeagamaan mampu menjawab isu-isu sensitif di program HIV/AIDS untukmengurangi stigma dan diskriminasi, membangun legitimasi organisasi danmengelola manajemen pengetahuan secara efektif

ABSTRACTThe problems of managing HIV/AIDS programs arises when religious socialorganizations run the program. Religious organizations are required to run theprogram effectively. However, the implementation is not easy since they have tofaced the "body of knowledge" of HIV/AIDS programs. Therefore, the ability ofthe organization to undertake this program is crucial. Religious organizations havea role to still keep the significance of religious values, at the same time to avoidconflict with the strategies possessed in HIV programs. This study explores threeissues in the Health Organization of Nahdlatul Ulama, the interaction of valuesand norms, efforts to establish the organization legitimacy, and the ability toperform knowledge management. Qualitative research methods is used to explorethe three issues mentioned above. The study results showed that the HealthOrganization of Nahdlatul Ulama as a socio-religious organization is able toanswer sensitive issues in HIV/AIDS programs to reduce stigma anddiscrimination, building of organization legitimacy and conducting of knowledgemanagement effectively"
