"Immersive multimodal interactive presence presents advanced interdisciplinary approaches that connect psychophysical and behavioral haptics research with advances in haptic technology and haptic rendering.
It delivers a summary of the results achieved in the IMMERSENCE European project and includes selected chapters by international researchers. Organized into two parts : I. Psychophysical and behavioral basis and II. Technology and rendering, it is an excellent example of interdisciplinary research directed towards the advancement of multimodal immersive virtual environments with particular focus on haptic interaction.
The twelve chapters of the book are grouped around three different scenarios representing different types of interactions in virtual environments: Person-Object (PO), Person-Object-Person (POP) and Person-Person (PP) interaction. Recent results of psychophysical and behavioral studies are reported along with new technological developments for haptic displays and novel haptic rendering techniques."

Many applications using Single Sign-On (SSO) as their methods for user registrasion. Pengelola Nama Domain Internet Indonesia (PANDI), as Indonesia registry (.id) manager, build a SSO account system using identity number as user validation to make sure the account is unique. However, u.id application according to PANDI stakeholders have low usability. Therefore, there is a need for usability evaluation and solutions from the evaluations. The study aims to find out user experience on using u.id application and provide alternative design using User-Centered Design approach. Study limitations are peoples from Indonesia whose have an internet connection and identity card. Evaluation is done using mixed-methods, by combining quantitative data with qualitative data. Quantitave data obtained using online questionnaire with System Usability Scale (SUS), while qualitative data obtained using contextual interview. Result from the evaluation obtained three personas and shows that u.id application have low usability. Mapping of improvement needs is carried out on Shneiderman’s Eight Golden Rules of Interface Design. Alternative design made using solutions from mapping of improvement needs and then re-evaluate using usability testing, SUS, and Single Ease Question (SEQ). Results from alternative design evaluation obtained a good result from calculation in usability testing success rate, SUS, and SEQ."

"This book provides the first theoretical interaction model of pen-and-paper user interfaces and an integrated set of interaction techniques for knowledge workers. The model proposes a ‘construction set’ of core interactions that are helpful in designing solutions that address the diversity of pen-and-paper environments. The interaction techniques, concrete instantiations of the model, provide innovative support for working with printed and digital documents. They integrate well-established paper-based practices with concepts derived from hypertext and social media.

"Touch and gestural devices have been hailed as next evolutionary step in human-computer interaction. As software companies struggle to catch up with one another in terms of developing the next great touch-based interface, designers are charged with the daunting task of keeping up with the advances in new technology and this new aspect to user experience design. Product and interaction designers, developers and managers are already well versed in UI design, but touch-based interfaces have added a new level of complexity. They need quick references and real-world examples in order. "
