"Vasculitis is an inflammation of the blood vessel accompanied by the presence of leukocytes on the vascular wall, followed by structural damage. It often involves the liver and gastrointestinal system, with manifestations of hematemesis and melena. We report a case of hematesis and melena due to leukocytoclastic vasculitis due to the use of antibiotics."

"It is estimated that worldwide 300 million individuals are chronically infected by the Hepatitis B Virus (HBV), a cause for a great number of mortality due to chronic liver disease. It is also estimated that at least 30% of chronic hepatitis B patients will suffer from liver cirrhosis. Young patients, who are infected by HBV during infancy or childhood, have a higher incidence rate of cirrhosis compared to those who were infected as adults.1
Additionally, chronic HBV infection has also been acknowledged as the most important causative factor for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), especially in areas with an epidemiologically high incidence rate of HBV infection. Beasley et al found that adult males with chronic HBV infection have a relative risk for HCC 200 times that of uninfected individuals.

ABSTRACT
Liver cirrhosis is a common complication of end-stage liver disease known as a worldwide problem associated with increased mortality and decreased quality of life. Malnutrition is the most common reversible complications. This case study aims to analyze the interventions of nutrition management education consisting of the liver 39;s diet, the conditions of liver 39;s diet, and the eating arrangements of the liver 39;s diets. A case study of one liver cirrhosis patients with grade III of hepatic encephalopathy, Child-Turcotte-Pugh CTP grading results in Class C with score of 13, and Mini Nutritional Assessment MNA score of 17,5, indicating the risk of malnutrition. The results of 8-days interventions show the improvement nutritional status that can be seen through clinical signs of reduced jaundice and good Liver Function Test LFT . This case study recommends continuous nutrition monitoring, appropriate nutrition, and adequate nutrition could improve liver cirrhosis patient 39;s quality of life. "

"The prompt diagnosis of systemic vasculitis is essential as a missed diagnosis can be disastrous. Imaging is of vital importance in achieving a correct diagnosis and in some cases also plays a role in endovascular treatment. In this book, the imaging features of the many different types of vasculitis are clearly demonstrated by means of numerous high-quality illustrations. All relevant imaging modalities are considered, and key distinctive characteristics are highlighted. In addition, each chapter discusses the etiology, epidemiology, pathogenesis, clinical presentation, biology, and treatment of the vasculitis in question. This book is the result of cooperation between expert teams from a range of countries. The wealth of illustrations and informative clinical case studies will prove invaluable for all who may be confronted with these problematic disorders."

"The updated second edition of Cutaneous manifestations of infection in the immunocompromised host is an invaluable reference for physicians and ancillary medical professionals involved in the care of patients with impaired immune systems due to cancer, chemotherapy, systemic steroids and other immunosuppressive drugs, HIV/AIDS or organ transplantation. This volume will help you recognize skin lesions and diagnose their infectious cause. Textbook features include, over 350 color images demonstrating pathognomonic, atypical, rare and routine skin lesions. Tables for differential diagnosis of different skin lesions in the immunocompromised host. Complete coverage of infectious pathogens with the patterns of infection and the likely causes in different clinical settings (HIV/AIDS versus solid organ transplantation versus neutropenia post-chemotherapy versus bone marrow recovery post hematopoietic stem cell transplantation. New chapter discussing the role of viruses causing malignancies with cutaneous signs in the immunocompromised patient.

"ABSTRACT
A 59-year-old lady with underlying hypothyroidism presented with acute contact dermatitis progressed to cellulitis with superimposed bacterial infection and acute kidney injury. She responded to initial management with antibiotics, but a week later, she had cutaneous and systemic vasculitis. Her skin biopsy consistent with immune-mediated leuko-cytoclastic vasculitis and her blood test was positive for cytoplasmic-anti-neutrophil cytoplasmic antibody (c-ANCA). A diagnosis of ANCA-associated vasculitis was made and she was treated with immunosuppressant with plasmapheresis and hemodialysis support for her kidney failure. Despite aggressive measures, the patient succumbed to her illness. This case report demonstrates that soft tissue infection could trigger the development of ANCA-associated vasculitis whilst a background of hypothyroidism serves as a predisposing factor as both condition were reported separately in a couple of case studies before."
