"Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis representasi feminitas perempuan berdasarkan gender sebagai dampak dari globalisasi yang ditampilkan dalam drama televisi Jepang For You in Full Blossom (2007) dan Pretty Proofreader (2016) serta drama televisi Korea Full House (2004) dan Fight for My Way (2017). Perempuan modern terkait feminitas, dihadapkan dengan maskulinitas dalam struktur masyarakat Jepang dan Korea. Dengan unit analisis perilaku, penampilan, dan gaya hidup, penelitian antardisiplin ini menganalisis representasi dari keempat drama televisi sebagai korpus penelitian. Metode analisis isi digunakan sebagai teknik penelitian untuk membuat simpulan yang sahih dan dapat direplikasi dari teks ke konteks penggunaannya, melalui empat tahapan: merumuskan tujuan dan konseptualitas, menyusun kategorisasi unit sampling, mencatat unit sampling, dan terakhir mengkaji hasil pencatatan dengan memberikan interpretasi. Hasil penelitian keempat drama televisi tersebut merepresentasikan perempuan Jepang dan Korea sebelum dan sesudah 2010 sebagai titik pergeseran perilaku dan penampilan perempuan dalam nilai-nilai feminitas yang dihadapkan dengan maskulinitas di Asia Timur. Perempuan Jepang dan Korea memahami tuntutan masyarakat untuk berbaur demi menjaga harmoni yang menjadi nilai penting dalam masyarakat Asia Timur, tanpa mengesampingkan individualitasnya.

This study aims to analyze the representation of women’s femininity according to gender as the impact of globalization shown in the Japanese television dramas For You in Full Blossom (2007) and Pretty Proofreader (2016), and Korean television dramas Full House (2004) dan Fight for My Way (2017). Modern women related to femininity faced masculinity in Japanese and Korean social structures. With behavior, appearance, and lifestyle as analysis units, this interdisciplinary study analyzed the representation in those four television dramas as the corpus of research. The context analysis method is used as a research technique to make a valid and replicable conclusion from text to the usage context through four steps: formulate the purpose and concept of research, arrange a set of sampling unit categorizations, record the sampling unit, and study the data record by giving the interpretation. The study shows that these four television dramas represented Japanese and Korean women before and after 2010 as a shift point of behavior and appearance in femininity values faced masculinity values in East Asia. Japanese and Korean women acknowledged the requirements to mingle in their society to maintain harmony as one of the essential values in East Asian society without neglecting their individualities.

"Gelombang Korea, atau "Hallyu", telah menyebar ke seluruh dunia, dan drama Korea, atau "K-drama", telah menjadi bagian penting dari kebudayaan. Selama pandemi COVID-19, drama ini menjadi cara populer bagi orang-orang di seluruh dunia untuk menghabiskan waktu karena dapat ditonton secara online. Penelitian ini menyelidiki bagaimana penempatan produk digunakan dalam K-drama sebagai bentuk periklanan modern. K-drama merupakan salah satu media yang efektif untuk memasang iklan produk karena dapat membantu orang mengenali merek, tertarik pada merek, dan membeli sesuatu. Penelitian ini menggunakan banyak literatur untuk mencoba mencari tahu bagaimana penempatan produk dalam drama Korea digunakan di dunia nyata. Dengan melakukan hal ini, diharapkan dapat menambah pemahaman kita tentang bagaimana periklanan dan keterlibatan pelanggan berubah di era digital.

The Korean Wave, or "Hallyu," has spread around the world, and Korean plays, or "K-dramas," have become an important part of culture. During the COVID-19 pandemic, these plays were a popular way for people around the world to pass the time as they could be watched online. This paper looks into how product placement is used in K-dramas as a modern form of advertising. Notably, K-dramas are a great place to put ads for products because they can help people recognise brands, get interested in them, and buy things. This study is based on literature review to try to figure out how product placement in Korean dramas is used in real life. By doing this, it hopes to add to our understanding of how advertising and customer engagement are changing in the digital age.

"ABSTRAK
Skripsi ini membahas mengenai preferensi penggemar drama Korea pada tayangan adaptasi Drama Korea. Penelitian ini memberikan deskripsi mengenai preferensi penggemar drama Korea sebagai penonton tayangan drama Korea dan adaptasinya dengan menggunakan teori Media Use. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan metode pendekatan kualitatif dengan paradigma post positivist. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan content analysis untuk mengetahui drama Korea dan tayangan adaptasinya melalui blog-blog penggemar drama Korea dan melakukan wawancara mendalam kepada subjek penelitian.
Hasil penelitian menemukan bahwa unsur drama yang mencakup tema cerita, setting, pemain, original soundtrack, dan jumlah episode yang konsisten menjadi dasar penetapan preferensi pada penggemar pada drama Korea, sementara pada tayangan adaptasi drama Korea belum terdapat unsur drama yang disajikan secara berkualitas dan konsisten.
ABSTRACT
This thesis discusses the preferences of Korean drama fans on Korean drama adaptation. This study provides a description of Korean drama's fans as audience original Korean drama and Korean drama adaptations by using media use theory. This research was conducted using qualitative approach with post positivist paradigm. This research was conducted under content analysis to find out which Korean dramas and the adaptations through Korean drama fan?s blog and perform in-depth interview to the subject of research.
The result shown the elements of drama that includes the theme of story, setting, actors, original soundtrack, and the consistent number of episodes become the basic setting preferences for Korean drama fans. Meanwhile, the Korean drama adaptions don't have those elements of drama with good quality and consistency."

"Tesis ini merupakan penelitian tentang maskulinitas yang direpresentasikan dalam drama TV Korea You're Beautiful (2009) yang pernah ditayangkan di Indosiar pada tahun 2010. Dalam sepuluh tahun terakhir, drama TV Korea beserta bintangnya menjadi fenomena di kawasan Asia Timur dan Tenggara. Drama TV Korea merupakan salah satu produk kebudayaan populer yang memicu Korean Wave. Drama TV digemari dan dikonsumsi oleh remaja putri dan wanita dewasa karena pencitraan aktor-aktornya yang tampan dan menarik. Sebanyak 10 episode dari 16 episode yang ada dianalisis dengan menggunakan teori semiotika Barthes dan dengan menggunakan model analisis milik Moon dan Jung mengenai maskulinitas dalam masyarakat Korea Selatan. Melalui analisis data visual dan dialognya, diketahui bahwa maskulinitas yang direpresentasikan dalam drama ini merupakan maskulinitas hibriditas dari elemen-elemen maskulinitas global seperti maskulinitas bhisonen Jepang, maskulinitas metroseksual Hollywood, serta maskulinitas tradisional Konfusius. Dengan sendirinya maskulinitas hibriditas tersebut menjadikannya sebagai maskulinitas baru dalam masyarakat Korea saat ini.

This thesis examines masculinity represented on Korean TV drama entitled You're Beautiful (2009). The drama was aired on Indosiar in 2010. In the past ten years, Korean TV drama and its stars became a phenomenon in East Asia and Southeast Asia. Korean TV drama is one of the products of popular culture that triggers the Korean Wave. TV drama is popular amongst teenage girls and adult women and it is consumed because of the image of handsome and attractive actors. A total of 10 episodes of 16 episodes are analyzed by using Barthes's mythology and a model analysis of masculinity in South Korean society developed by Moon and Jung. From visual and textual analysis, it is known that masculinity represented in this drama is a hybrid masculinity comprises of Japan's bishonen masculinity, Hollywood's metro sexual masculinity and traditional masculinity of Confucian. In this way, hybrid masculinity itself can be seen as a new masculinity in Korean contemporary society."

"The status of English worldwide is prestigious as an international language. Furthermore, nowadays in Korea speaking English is regarded more modern and stylish than using the Korean Language. As a consequence, English mixing phenomenon is increasing in Korea, especially, in TV commercials. Along with this expanding proportion of English, English deviation that defers from the norm is common. Deviations in advertisements are sometimes made intentionally to make them more appealing and impressive to audiences. However, as Korean TV commercials are made by Korean non-native English speaker, we cannot just simply regard all advertisement texts that differ from the norm as deviation. Some of them are made unintentionally because of advertisers? carelessness or mistake, and they do not play any role in advertisements. It is important to differentiate whether they are deviation or error because it is related with constructing good brand image. Thus, in this paper I will try to classify advertisements that defer from the norm in Korean TV commercials into deviation and error based on their function and purpose within advertisements, and I will find out their types of deviation and error."

"Media massa seperti televisi memiliki pengaruh dalam memberikan informasi mengenai berbagai hal, salah satunya adalah kecantikan. Di Korea Selatan, program televisi yang memiliki pandangan tentang kecantikan adalah Get It Beauty dan The Beauty. Kedua program televisi itu mempunyai tujuan yang sama, yaitu memberikan tutorial makeup dan tips kecantikan terhadap para penontonnya. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis bagaimana program kecantikan Get It Beauty dan The Beauty menampilkan citra kecantikan perempuan Korea. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian deskriptif kualitatif dengan metode analisis isi kualitatif untuk memudahkan penulis menganalisis data penelitian. Hasil studi ini menunjukkan bahwa citra kecantikan perempuan Korea telah terpengaruh standar kecantikan Barat yang dapat dilihat pada program Get it Beauty. Akan tetapi, terdapat pandangan lain yang masih tetap mempertahankan kecantikan alami yang diajarkan para leluhur bangsa Korea dapat dilihat pada program The Beauty.
Mass media such as television has a role to provide information on various things, like beauty. In South Korea, television programs that have this role and views on beauty are Get it Beauty and The Beauty. These two television programs have the same goal, which are giving makeup tutorials and beauty tips to the audience. The problem in this study is how do Get it Beauty and The Beauty display Korean women`s beauty image. This study has a purpose which is to analyse how do Get it Beauty and The Beauty programs display the beauty image of Korean women. The author uses qualitative descriptive research with a qualitative content analysis method to conduct the author analysing the research. Based on the result, it is concluded that the Western has affected Korean women`s beauty image and this can be seen from Get it Beauty. However, some still maintain their natural beauty that was taught by the ancestors and this can be seen from The Beauty."
