"An Indonesian identity of multiculturalism in the reality of pluralism. Building Indonesia has to be based on the principles of nationhood which emphasizes on justice, and not on religious hegemony, ethic, or a certain cultural background. Ethics on Pluralism and Multiculturalism are crucial for a new Indonesia with Pancasila as its ideology and Diversity in Unity as a national paradigm, besides the rich national culture within the various socio-cultural backgrounds. They have to be defended and framed in a mutual-interest dialogue."

"The recognition of the cultural pluralism by a country and its society is a challenge regarding the existence of its social justice. Multiculturalism is considered as a recent 'innovation' in a democratic society, leading to the social justice despite its various Forms and different implementations in each country. This article depicts the multicultural growths, development and issues in some European countries and the European Community. The Netherlands has introduced combined recognition regarding cultural pluralism and its national integration concept on the basis of the membership of a community. The United Kingdom prioritizing individuals rather than institutional organizatory is still facing racism issues. France bends to be in the crossroad with the existence of the ideas against the myths presenting social identities. The European Community has been conflicting the identity of Europe."

This research aims to explain how Charles Taylor’s multiculturalism can be used as a strategy to overcome sinophobia narrative in Indonesia. Sinophobia in Indonesia has been present since the Dutch East Indies era. After Indonesia gained independence, the Indonesian constitution emphasizes the importance of tolerance and respecting diversity. Nevertheless, sinophobia still thrive in grassroots level. In order to overcome sinophobia, this research offers Charles Taylor’s multiculturalism education approach. This research is a philosophical research on actual problems. This research uses historical analysys and critical reflection as research method to deep dive on sinophobia problem in Indonesia. With historical analysys and critical reflection, this research conclude that sinophobia narrative is a legacy from racial segregation policy that preserved the interracial suspicion. To overcome the impact of sinophobia, multiculturalism education is needed to create a new generation that respect the diversity of Indonesia. In multiculturalism education, there are two important aspects: a curriculum based on recognition and the realization of ideal recognition, thus making the interracial suspicion can be replace with appreciation for diversity as envisioned by Charles Taylor."

"Multiculturalism as a way to view and respect differences is as a solidarity expression concerning minority. Each country has its own typical multicultural experience and practice. This essay is to describe how Franches have viewed the incoming immigrants as a minority group in France. The French historical perspectives of the Middle Ages, two of which are the societal group formation and the Declaration of Human Rights and Citizenship as the result of French Revolution in 1789 have great influence on the French mind set, including their way considering the immigrants. In line with it, the debates referring the concept of multiculturalism have been going on. The last part of the article elucidates the multicultural representation of the cultural identities in French cinemas and music with various ethnics, religions and cultures, including appearing stereotypes of the immigrants."
