"Inhibitionactivity of ethyl acetate of kluwek fraction on the linoleic acid oxidation catalysed by lipoxygenase: study was carried out to observe the inhibition activity of ethyl acetate kluwek (fermented pangium edule reinw) fractions on the enzymatic oxidation of linoleic acid. The degree oxidation of sample was determined according to the PV and TBA methods. The most active fraction then was treated as the inhibitor for enzymatic oxidation of linoleic acid catalyzed by lipoxygenase (E.C. 1.13.11.12). Data analysis shown that the antioxidant activity of kluwek fraction was: fraction B> fractionC> fraction A> control. Enzymatic assay of fraction B gave a kinetic inhibition as an uncompetitive inhibitor with Ki=1.1294% v/v.Physicochemical analysis of its effect to the enzymatic oxidation rate was significantly different according to the PV and TBA values and compared to the control"

"Study of oxidation catechol by potato polyphenoloxidase (PFO) inhibited by kluwek fractions and bht: The enzymatic browning reaction of fruits and vegetables are catalysed by polyphenoloxidase(PFO) .Study was carried out to observe the PFO optimal activity condition and the inhibition effect of kluwek fraction (Pangium edule reinw fractions) and bht. The optimum inhibition was observed in addition of 0.05 % fraction A (neutral),0.05% fraction B(weak acid) and 0.10% fraction C(strong acid) that decreased the formation of quinon by 66.29 %.49.59% and 55.62% respectively. The inhibition activity is bht>A>c>b and it's totally different with the inhibition not only determined by the kind of inhibitor but meanly the kind of enzymaticc reaction(enzyme and substrate)

"Rebusan akar Acalypha indica Linn. atau akar kucing terbukti dapat menurunkan kadar asam urat dalam darah (Pratita, A., 2005). Penelitian dilakukan untuk melihat pengaruh sari fraksi heksana, kloroform, etil asetat, dan sisa air dari rebusan akar A. indica terhadap penurunan kadar asam urat dalam darah tikus putih jantan (Rattus novergicus) galur Sprague Dawley yang diinduksi dengan kalium oksonat. Penelitian dilakukan terhadap tujuh kelompok dimana masing-masing kelompok terdiri dari lima ekor tikus. Induksi asam urat dengan kalium oksonat dilakukan secara injeksi intraperitoneal terhadap enam kelompok, sedangkan satu kelompok diberikan larutan CMC 0,5%. Sari fraksi heksana, kloroform, etil asetat, dan sisa air dosis 10,8 gram/200 gram bb dan alopurinol sebagai pembanding diberikan secara oral sehari sekali selama delapan hari. Pengukuran kadar asam urat dengan metode enzimatik dilakukan secara spektrofotometri pada panjang gelombang 520 nm. Hasil percobaan menunjukkan bahwa setiap sari fraksi dapat menurunkan kadar asam urat darah pada tikus putih jantan yang diinduksi dengan kalium oksonat dengan efek semakin meningkat yaitu sari fraksi sisa air, kloroform, etil asetat, dan heksana."

"Inflamasi merupakan reaksi pertahanan dari organisme dan jaringannya terhadap infeksi dan terjadi karena adanya pelepasan mediator inflamasi. Leukotrien adalah salah satu mediator inflamasi yang dihasilkan dari asam arakhidonat melalui jalur enzim lipoksigenase. Penghambatan enzim lipoksigenase dapat mencegah produksi leukotrien. Spesies Garcinia diketahui memiliki aktivitas antiinflamasi. Garcinia porrecta Laness adalah salah satu tanaman dari marga Garcinia yang mampu menghambat lipoksigenase. Penelitian lain menunjukkan ekstrak etil asetat kulit batang Garcinia porrecta Laness memiliki nilai IC50 sebesar 0,52 g/mL.
Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah menguji aktivitas antiinflamasi dengan metode penghambatan lipoksigenase pada fraksi dari ekstrak etil asetat kulit batang G. porrecta Laness dan penapisan fitokimia dengan teknik KLT kecuali saponin dan tanin pada fraksi teraktif. Fraksi yang diperoleh sebanyak 11 fraksi.
Hasil uji menunjukkan fraksi teraktif, yaitu fraksi G memiliki persentase inhibisi sebesar 48,50 . Hasil identifikasi fraksi G menunjukkan adanya flavonoid dan terpenoid.

Inflammation is a defensive reaction of the organism and its tissue to infection and occurs because of the release of inflammatory mediators. Leukotriene is one of the inflammatory mediators produced from arachidonic acid through the lipoxygenase enzyme pathway. Inhibition of lipoxygenase enzyme may prevent leukotriene production. Garcinia species are known to have anti inflammatory activity. Garcinia porrecta Laness is one of the genus of Garcinia which has ability to inhibit lipoxygenase. Another study showed the extract of ethyl acetate cortex of Garcinia porrecta Laness had an IC50 value of 0.52 g mL.
The objective of this study was to test anti inflammatory activity by lipoxygenase inhibition method of fraction from ethyl acetate extract of Garcinia porrecta Laness cortex and phytochemical screening by TLC technique except for saponin and tannin at the most active fraction. The fraction obtained is 11 fractions.
The test result shows the most active fraction, that is G fraction has inhibition percentage of 48,50 . The result of identification of G fraction shows the presence of flavonoid and terpenoid."
