"Penelitian ini membahas bagaimana seorang seniman gay di Indonesia dalam mengekspresikan identitasnya yang beragam melalui media sosial Instagram untuk melepaskan diri dari gambaran yang seringkali negatif dan salah yang telah terbentuk di masyarakat. Fokus penelitian ini adalah praktik mengunggah di media sosial Instagram yang dilakukan oleh seniman di Indonesia bernama Magistus Miftah dengan menggunakan simbol-simbol sebagai cara ia menyampaikan pesan dan opininya.  Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan desain deskriptif dan metode analisis semiotika sosial. Hasil penelitian menyimpulkan bahwa ekspresi gender yang dilakukan oleh Magistus Miftah pada akun media sosial Instagram-nya digunakan  untuk beberapa hal. Hal yang paling menonjol terlihat adalah bagaimana Magistus Miftah yang berlatar belakang sebagai seorang seniman melalui unggahannya menunjukkan identitasnya secara total dengan menggunakan berbagai macam simbol. Dari analisis semiotika, ditemukan proses negosiasi identitas yang dilakukan Magistus Miftah. Selain itu dengan mengekspresikan dirinya di Instagram, Magistus Miftah mampu memperkuat identitasnya. Praktik menggunggah juga menjadi bentuk perlawanan stereotipe gay yang ada di Indonesia.

The research examine how an artists gay man in Indonesia try to express his diverse identities through social media Instragram and how  he try to unattached from a negative profiling and imagery of being a gay man that exist in society in Indonesia. The focus of this research is the practice of posting and uploading content in Instagram from Magistus Miftah, an Indonesian artist through symbols. This research is a qualitative research with descriptive design and social semiotics analysis. The result of this research conclude that gender expression that Magistus Miftah does through his social media, works as several things. The most standout is, he with background as an artist shows his identity in maximum way with using all kind of symbols. From semiotics analysis, researcher found that there is a process of identity negotiation. Also, as he expresses himself in Instagram, Magistus Miftah strengthen his identity. The practice of posting also became a way to fight the gay stereotype and negative image in Indonesia."

"Studi pustaka yang telah lalu menunjukkan bahwa media menampilkan gaydalam stereotip dan stigma yang buruk. Pada awal Januari 2020, muncul kasus yang ramai diberitakan dalam media, yaitu mengenai Reynhard Sinaga, seorang gay yang melakukan tindakan kriminal di Inggris. Setelah diamati, ditemukan perbedaan pemberitaan yang dilakukan pada media di Inggris dengan media di Indonesia. Media di Inggris hanya menekankan pemberitaan pada tindak kriminal yang dilakukan Reynhard, sementara media di Indonesia justru malah fokus membahas orientasi seksual, keluarga, lingkungan, hingga tempat tinggalnya. Kasus Reynhard pun akhirnya menarik perhatian Kota Depok sebagai dasar untuk mengeluarkan kebijakan pencegahan LGBT.
Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode analisis framing terhadap artikel berita di media daring, yaitu Tempo.co. Setelah dilakukan penelitian, hasil menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pro dan kontra terhadap gayyang ditampilkan media. Kelompok pro, yaitu dari Komnas HAM. Sementara kelompok kontra, yaitu Pemerintah Kota Depok, menolak gay berdasarkan nilai agama. Tampaknya, tempo tak hanya membingkai pro dan kontra, tetapi juga membingkai rencana kebijakan dan pencegahan LGBT dari pemerintah Kota Depok sebagai penyebab diskriminasi pada kelompok gay.

Past literature studies have shown that the media potrays gays in bad stereotypes and stigma. In early January 2020, there was a case which was widely reported in the media, about Reynhard Sinaga, a gay man who committed criminal acts in the UK. After making observations, it was found that there was a difference in the news coverage between the the UK media and Indonesian media. The media in the UK only emphasizes reporting on criminal acts committed by Reynhard, while the media in Indonesia, instead, focuses on another issues such as sex orientation, family, the environment, to where he lives.
This research was conducted using the method of framing analysis of news articles in online media, Tempo.co. After conducting research, the results of the study prove that there were pros and cons of gays in the media. Pro groupsisfrom Komnas HAM. While the cons groups, which is from Depok Government, are against gays with religious values. It seems that the tempo not only frames the pros and cons, but also frames the LGBT governments policy and prevention plans as a cause of discrimination against gay groups.

"ABSTRAK
Diskriminasi terhadap kelompok gay di Indonesia merupakan latar
belakang dari penelitian ini. Adanya diskriminasi membuat mereka
menyembunyikan identitasnya dan memilih untuk menikah dengan perempuan.
Mereka membutuhkan ruang agar dapat merasa nyaman dan aman untuk
mengekspresikan dan menunjukkan identitasnya. Kemajuan teknologi membantu
mereka dalam menemukan ruang tersebut. Line di dalam penelitian ini dilihat
sebagai sebuah cyberqueer space, yaitu tempat ketika pengalaman-pengalaman
gay dapat terjadi dengan lebih mudah dari pada di offline. Oleh karena itu, melalui
penelitian yang menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode wawancara
mendalam terhadap ke-enam infoman dan pengamatan baik di online ataupun
offline, saya mencoba melihat identitas dan ekspresi diri yang dilakukan oleh
individu gay di dalam grup mak-mak. Ekspresi yang mereka tunjukkan terlihat
dari pembentukan identitas gay yaitu dari penerimaan hingga perasaan bangga
akan identitasnya. Cara gay mengartikulasi identitasnya di Line berbeda-beda dan
bermacam-macam, ada yang memilih hanya sedikit menambahkan apa yang telah
ada dalam dirinya, ada pula yang mengubah total seluruh identitas aslinya.
Interaksi yang dilakukan dalam grup membentuk hubungan sosial yaitu
pertemanan, romantisme dan pekerjaan.

ABSTRACT
Discrimination against gay group in Indonesia is the background of this
research. Discrimination makes them hide their identity and choose to marry
women. They need space in order to feel comfortable and safe to express and
show their credentials. Advances in technology help them in finding the space.
Line in this study is seen as a cyberqueer space, that place when the experiences
of gay can occur more easily than in the real world. Therefore, through the study
used a qualitative approach with in-depth interviews on all six informant and
observations both in the real world or the virtual world, I try to see the identity
and self-expression by individuals in a group of gay-mak mak. They show visible
expression of gay identity formation, namely from reception to feeling proud of
their identity. How gay identity in Line articulate different and diverse, there are
selected only a few add what we have in him, there is also a change in total
throughout his true identity. Interaction is done in a group that is forming social
relationships of friendship, romance and work."

"Penelitian ini berusaha menganalisis konstruksi keluarga sakinah oleh selebritas Muslimah yang tergabung dalam kelompok digital Kajian Musawarah dengan menggunakan metode analisis multimodalitas. Meningkatnya selebritas yang menggunakan jilbab di Indonesia kemudian mengunggah foto keluarga yang harmonis dan bahagia bersama pasangan berdasarkan syariat Islam menjadi satu hal yang menarik untuk dianalisis. Selebritas Muslimah menjadi faktor penting dalam konstruksi keluarga sakinah karena memiliki banyak pengikut di media sosial, melalui proses hijrah, menggunakan jilbab dan mode pakaian syar’i, serta menjalani pernikahan yang saleh. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memahami konstruksi keluarga Sakinah dan harmonis yang di dalamnya terdapat istri yang baik dan sholehah yang dibangun oleh selebritas Muslimah di Indonesia. Metode yang digunakan yaitu analisis multimodalitas terhadap Instagram Shireen Sungkar dan Zaskia Sungkar dalam unggahan yang berkaitan dengan keluarga. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini memiliki argumen bahwa selebritas Muslimah mengonstruksi keluarga Sakinah melalui media sosial Instagram menyebabkan transformasi nilai agama dan memberikan standar kebahagiaan muslim yaitu menjadi keluarga Sakinah.

This study uses the multimodality analysis method to examine the construction of the Sakinah family by Muslim female celebrities who are members of the Musawarah Study digital group. The increase in celebrities who use the headscarf in Indonesia and then upload harmonious and happy family photos with their partners based on Islamic law is an exciting thing to analyze. Muslim celebrities are an important factor in constructing a Sakinah family because they have many followers on social media, go through the hijrah process, use the headscarf and shar'i clothing, and live a pious marriage. This study seeks to understand the construction of a Sakinah and harmonious family in which there is a good and shalihah wife built by Muslim female celebrities in Indonesia. The method used is a multimodality analysis of Shireen Sungkar and Zaskia Sungkar's Instagram in family-related uploads. Therefore, this study has the argument that Muslim female celebrities construct a Sakinah family through Instagram social media, causing a transformation of religious values and providing a standard of Muslim happiness, namely becoming a Sakinah family."

"ABSTRAK
Iptek berperan penting terhadap kemajuan suatu bangsa, dan tesis ini membahas mengenai upaya Lembaga Ilmu Pengetahuan Indonesia memperkuat corporate identity sebagai salah satu lembaga riset nasional yang memproduksi informasi hasil penelitian agar sampai kepada masyarakat. Salah satu upaya yang dilakukan adalah melakukan strategi komunikasi dengan menggunakan konten digital di media sosial Instagram. Tujuan penelitian untuk menganalisis strategi formulasi konten dan implementasinya di Instagram yang dilakukan Lembaga Ilmu Pengetahuan Indonesia untuk memperkuat corporate brand identity. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dan dianalisis dengan metode teknik analisis isi dan wawancara. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan formulasi pesan yang dilakukan menggunakan konten naratif dan implementasi strategi konten yang dilakukan oleh LIPI telah mengikuti elemen pengemasan informasi yang baik dan secara optimal mengedepankan unsur identitas lembaga sebagai tema utama dalam pengemasan konten. Penelitian ini memberikan pandangan baru bahwa konsep corporate brand identity tidak hanya dapat digunakan pada sektor swasta tetapi dapat dimanfaatkan oleh lembaga pemerintah, dan strategi komunikasi untuk menguatkan brand identity tersebut salah satunya adalah dengan strategi formulasi konten dan implementasi strategi konten dengan optimal. Instagram LIPI membuktikan untuk membuat suatu konten di media sosial lembaga pemerintah dapat dimulai lewat menyajikan identitas lembaga itu sendiri sesuai dengan tugas dan fungsinya.

ABSTRACT
Science and technology plays an important role in the progress of a nation, and this research discusses the efforts of the Indonesian Institute of Science to strengthen its corporate identity as one of the national research institutions that produces information on research product to reach the public. The purpose of this study is to analyze the content formulation strategy and implementation of digital content strategy on Instagram by the Indonesian Institute of Sciences as a tool to strengthen corporate brand identity. This study uses a qualitative approach and is analyzed by the content analysis technique and interview. The results showed the message formulation carried out using narrative content and the implementation of content strategy conducted by LIPI had optimally followed the elements of digital content strategy that put forward the elements of institutional identity as the main theme in content packaging. This study provides a new outlook that the concept of corporate brand identity not only be used in the private sector but can be used in government agencies and one of the communication strategies to strengthen the brand identity is the content formulation strategy and the optimal implementation of the content strategy. Instagram LIPI proves to create content on social media, a government institution can be started by presenting the identity of the institution itself according to its tasks and functions. "

Pesatnya pertumbuhan media sosial membawa banyak perubahan. Dengan
karakternya yang berbeda dengan media lama, media sosial membuka banyak
kemungkinan, termasuk bagi representasi identitas lokal. Seperti komunitas
Banyumas, mereka menjadikan media sosial sebagai ruang baru untuk
menunjukkan identitasnya. Sebuah pertanyaan mengemuka, apakah kehadiran
media sosial yang berkarakter global akan melemahkan identitas lokal, atau
sebaliknya justru memperkuatnya.Penelitian ini mencoba melihat transformasi
identitas komunitas Banyumas dari ranah offline ke online, dengan melihat
bagaimana realitas kontemporer praktik kebahasaan orang Banyumas dalam
kehidupan sehari-hari dan di media sosial. Pengamatan praktik kebahasaan di
media sosial dikhususkan pada pesan-pesan terpilih di blog, Twitter, dan
Facebook. Analisis dilakukan dengan menggunakan teori Pierre Bourdieu yang
melihat identitas sebagai sebuah kontestasi dalam sebuah ranah dinamis. Hasil
penelitian menunjukkan bahwa karakter dasar orang Banyumas seperti cablaka,
penjorangan, dan dopokan, tergambar kuat dalam berbagai pesan di media sosial.
Uniknya, pesan-pesan ini banyak yang ditampilkan secara kreatif, sebagai bentuk
adaptasi karakter media sosial. Sebagai sebuah kontestasi, representasi identitas
lokal dipengaruhi oleh relasi antara ranah, habitus, dan modal. Ranah
menunjukkan setting media sosial itu sendiri. Sedangkan habitus ditunjukkan oleh
kecenderungan yang berbeda di antara para pengguna Banyumas dengan latar
belakang yang beragam. Sementara modal, ditandai kepemilikan modal yang
berbeda, baik yang berupa modal sosial, budaya, simbolik, maupun modal
ekonomi. Secara teoritis, hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan perbedaan nilai dan
kekuatan modal, antara realitas offline dan online. Jika di ranah online, modal
ekonomi menjadi dominan perannya, maka di ranah online, modal simbolik lebih
berperan. Secara praktis, hasil penelitan ini menumbuhkan optimisme bahwa
identitas lokal akan terus bertahan, bahkan menguat, di era media sosial.;

representation of local identity. For instance, Banyumas community uses social
media as a new space to show their identity. A question arose whether the
presence of social media which has global character may weaken or strengthen
their local identities instead. This study tries to figure out the transformation of
identity of Banyumas community from offline to online field, by paying more
attention on how the contemporary reality of Banyumas people‟s linguistic
practices in their daily life and in social media is. The Observation on linguistic
practices in social media particularly focuses on the selected messages available in
blogs, Twitter, and Facebook. The analyses were conducted using Pierre Bourdieu
theories that viewed identity as a contestation within a dynamic field. The results
showed that the basic characters of the Banyumas people, such as cablaka,

in social media. These messages were uniquely displayed in creative ways, as
forms of character adaptation in social media. As contestation, the representation
of local identity was influenced by the relationship between field, habitus, and
capitals. Field showed the setting of social media itself. Habitus were shown by
the different tendencies among users of Banyumas with different backgrounds.
Capitals were marked by the possession of different capitals, either in the form of
social, cultural, symbolic, or economic capital. Theoretically, the results of this
study showed differences in values and capital powers, between offline and online
reality. If in online field, the economic capital had the dominant roles, the
symbolic capital had more roles. Practically, the results of this study grow
optimism that local identity will surely survive and even be stronger in the era of

"ABSTRAK

Tesis ini membahas objektifikasi dan normalisasi tubuh perempuan yang terjadi pada media sosial, khususnya akun Instagram @dramaojol.id. Akun ini tidak hanya dimanfaatkan untuk pembagian informasi terkait dengan transportasi online, namun juga sebagai tempat hiburan dimana tubuh perempuan seringkali diobjektifikasi. Penelitian ini menggunakan paradigma kritis dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Teori objektifikasi Fredickson & Roberts dan teori kekuasaan Foucault digunakan untuk melihat objektifikasi dan normalisasi tersebut. Data dianalisis melalui semiotika sosial Theo van Leeuwen melalui 3 tahap, yakni metafungsi representasi, interaksi, dan komposisi. Hasil yang ditemukan adalah pada metafungsi representasi, perempuan selalu ditempatkan sebagai tujuan (goal), metafungsi interaksi menunjukkan bahwa perempuan ditampilkan kepada khalayak sebagai penawaran (offer), dan metafungsi komposisi perempuan selalu ditempatkan ditengah sebagai fokus utama. Objektifikasi yang sering ditemukan pada akun ini adalah fungibility, penyamaan tubuh dengan obyek lain. Normalisasi dilakukan melalui wacana humor dengan karakteristik oposisi seksual dan non-seksual serta penggunaan teks maskulin melalui naming and androcentrism, double entendres, dan euphemism and taboo.


ABSTRACT

The focus of this study is objectification and normalization of woman's body that happen in social media, particularly @dramaojol.id's Instagram account. This account is not only used as a place to share information regarding to online transportation, but also as a place for recreation where women's body is often objectified. This research is a qualitative research using critical paradigm. Fredickson & Roberts' objectification theory and Foucault's power theory is used to explain the process of objectification and normalization. The data is analysed by using Theo van Leeuwen's social semiotics through 3 steps of analysis, namely metafunction of representation, interaction and composition. The findings are, at the level of representation woman is always placed as a goal. At the level of interaction, woman is presented as an offer to the followers and at composition woman's body is always placed as a focus to be objectified. It is also found that objectification that often happen in @dramaojol.id Instagram account is fungibility, treating the person as interchangeable with objects. Furthermore, normalization is done through humor with characteristics of sexual and non-sexual opposition whereas masculinity is portrayed by naming and androcentrism, double entendres and euphemism and taboo.

Media sosial menjadi salah satu media pendukung bagi pemasar untuk beriklan di era saat ini Di Indonesia Instagram merupakan media sosial dengan aktivitas komersil yang sangat tinggi Strategi endorsement oleh non selebritis digunakan oleh pemasar melihat adanya pengaruh signifikan terhadap khalayak Efektivitas seorang endorser non selebritis dapat dilihat dari karakteristiknya yang dibentuk dari elemen kredibilitas atraktivitas dan kekuatan sebagai sumber pesan Akun Instagram milik Mega Iskanti megaiskanti memiliki karakteristik yang memenuhi keseluruhan elemen tersebut menunjukkan bahwa ia merupakan endorser non selebritis yang efektif dalam menyampaikan pesan kepada khalayak Efektivitas tinggi yang dimiliki akun megaiskanti berpengaruh terhadap sikap dan pembentukan asosiasi positif oleh khalayak kepadanya dan merek yang diiklankannya Mega Iskanti pun semakin digemari oleh para pemasar melihat adanya potensi akun tersebut lebih disukai dan diikuti oleh khalayak Sayangnya pada elemen kredibilitas akun megaiskanti masih menunjukkan penulisan yang kurang persuasif sehingga mengakibatkan khalayak sulit terhubung dengan endorser atau mereknya.

In this era social media is used as supporting media for advertising In Indonesia Instagram is a social media with the highest number of commercial activities Non celebrity endorsement is one of marketing strategies used by marketers as it has siginificant impact towards audiences Effectiveness of non celebrity endorser is analysable by seeing his her characteristics which is formed by source credibility source attractiveness and source power Mega Iskanti rsquo s Instagram account megaiskanti has characteristics that fulfill all of the elements above showing that she is an effective non celebrity endorser in terms of delivering messages to audience The high effectiveness of megaiskanti influences audiences rsquo attitude and positive association forming towards her and brands she advertised Mega Iskanti becomes one of marketers rsquo favorite endorsers as she is potential to be more likeable and followed by audiences Unfortunately megaiskanti doesn rsquo t perform well on building her credibility with lack of persuasive copywriting that can cause disengagement between audience and endorser or brands.

"Penggunaan konsep storytelling menjadi semakin meningkat seiring dengan pertumbuhan penggunaan media sosial. Penelitian ini memiliki tujuan yaitu untuk mendeskripsikan program konten storytelling Instagram Ganjar Pranowo menggunakan fitur reels dalam perspektif pengguna aktif Instagram sebagai upaya persuasi publik dan menjelaskan bentuk storytelling pemimpin jawa tengah di fitur reels instagram. Penelitian ini dilakukan atas dasar hadirnya rivalitas calon kandidat presiden antar Ganjar Pranowo dan Puan Maharani yang terjadi di tahun 2021-2022, selalu menghiasi pemberitaan media secara nasional. Tesis ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode analisis multimodalitas. Penelitian ini menemukan bahwa Ganjar Pranowo menggunakan media sosial Instagram untuk menarik dukungan kalangan muda dan menggunakan elemen storytelling diantaranya plot, struktur cerita, soundtrack, hero, dan emosi, dalam upaya mempersuasi publik di Instagram. Dalam kasus ini juga ditemukan bahwa aktivitas storytelling Ganjar menarik karena membagikan konten bersifat cinta keluarga, cinta wong cilik, dan cinta toleransi. Sehingga dapat diterima oleh semua kalangan masyarakat, membuat namanya semakin populer di media sosial instagram.

The use of the storytelling concept is increasing along with the growth in the use of social media. This study has a purpose, namely to describe Ganjar Pranowo's Instagram storytelling content program using the reels feature from the perspective of active Instagram users as an effort to persuade the public and explain the form of storytelling of Central Java leaders in the Instagram reels feature. This research was conducted based on the presence of rivalry between the presidential candidates Ganjar Pranowo and Puan Maharani that occurred in 2021-2022, always adorning the national media coverage. This thesis uses a qualitative approach with a multimodality analysis method. This study found that Ganjar Pranowo uses Instagram social media to attract support from young people and uses storytelling elements including plot, story structure, soundtrack, hero, and emotion, to persuade the public on Instagram. In this case, it was also found that Ganjar's storytelling activity was interesting because he shared content that was family love, love for the poor, and love for tolerance. So that it can be accepted by all circles of society, making his name increasingly popular on Instagram social media."

"Budaya digital dengan hadirnya internet dan berbagai platfom media sosial seperti Instagram membentuk kapitalisme digital yang ditandai dengan orientasi atas akumulasi kekuasaan dan uang. Dalam perkembangannya, media sosial memunculkan fenomena kidfluencer, yakni sosok pemberi pengaruh yang terkenal namun berusia di bawah 13 tahun. Penelitian ini melihat komodifikasi terjadi di akun Instagram seorang kidfluencer yang juga disokong oleh perusahaan media konvensional, yakni @tercipungcipung yang dikelola oleh RANS Entertainment yang dimiliki oleh Emtek Group. Melalui analisis multimodalitas, penelitian ini melihat konten – konten @tercipungcipung yang mengandung unsur komersial. Temuan dari penelitian ini adalah terdapat komodifikasi karakter anak berupa cara bicara yang belum jelas, gerakan tangan dan kaki, gaya berdandan, dan rasa ingin tahu yang besar. Penambahan unsur animasi memperkuat narasi yang dibentuk oleh pihak yang berkepentingan di balik akun kidfluencer. Selain itu, penelitian ini juga melihat adanya komodifikasi konten, khalayak dan tenaga kerja yang terjadi dalam waktu yang bersamaan.

Digital culture with the presence of the internet and various social media platforms such as Instagram forms digital capitalism which is characterized by an orientation towards the accumulation of power and money. In its development, social media has given rise to the phenomenon of kidfluencers, namely influencers who are famous but under the age of 13. This research looks at commodification occurring on the Instagram account of a kidfluencer which is also supported by a conventional media company, namely @tercipungcipung which is managed by RANS Entertainment which is owned by the Emtek Group. Through multimodality analysis, this research looks at @tercipungcipung content that contains commercial elements. The findings of this research are that there is a commodification of children's characters that is identified with speech that is unclear, hands and legs move, appearance and fashion choices, and also the curiosity from the child. Additional animation aspects strengthen the narrative that is build by accountable party. This research also finds commodification in content, audiences and labor that happens at the same time."
