"This book examines the driving dynamics of harvesting machines with large harvesting heads. It looks at how to efficiently use these machines. The author explores a common problem that hinders machine performance when harvesting with very large headers. He deals with concepts for reducing the undesired effects of vehicle dynamics when using these machines.
With the steadily increasing capacity of harvesting machines, the working widths of the harvesting heads get wider and the headers get heavier. It has become essential with these giant headers to use header height sensors and header control systems to avoid the headers from being run into the ground when encountering elevation changes in the terrain. A fundamental limitation of the viable speed of header height adjustments arises from the combination of the wider and heavier headers with soft agricultural tires.
The current solution to find an appropriate speed of header height adjustments is to perform a header calibration whenever a new header is attached to the machine and to endow the machine operator with the capability to tweak the speed of adjustments manually. The result of an inappropriate speed of height adjustments is a reduction in overall productivity and an under-utilization of the harvesting machine. The author looks at ways to prevent this. He offers detailed modeling of the vertical dynamics including dynamic wheel loads. In addition, the book contains results from simulations and machine tests."

"By forming the link between the road surface and the vehicle, the chassis plays a key role in enhancing vehicle dynamics and ride comfort. With its control systems, it provides the basis for the further development of driver assistance systems which support the driver in the task of
driving the vehicle. This applies to an even greater extent to autonomous vehicles. Electromechanical steering and steerby-wire systems are one solution available. At the same
time, the brake system as a safety component needs to be developed in such a way that it fulfills the requirements of powertrain hybridization and electrification."

ABSTRACT
High population growth has an impact on various aspects of life, especially traffic congestion. Many solutions to overcome traffic congestion have been offered. However, traffic congestion is still an unsolved problem. Imagine there is a car that can operate on sky as well with the size of a car. But the next problem is how to maximize the limited space of vehicle as fuel storage so that it can travel a long distance. Without increasing size and weight to the vehicle, efficiency can be achieved by reducing drag. Designing a wheel retraction system can reduce parasite drag up to 24. This design also talks about how a retraction mechanism can accommodate the entire wheel system including suspension, wishbone, safety system and steering system on the front wheels. The result of this design is a hydraulic pump with minimum pressure of 11.191 bar and flow rate of 0.136 lpm."

"The book provides the essential features necessary to understand and apply the mathematical-mechanical characteristics and tools for vehicle dynamics including control mechanism. An introduction to passenger car modeling of different complexities provides the basics for the dynamical behavior and presents vehicle models later used for the application of control strategies. The presented modeling of the tire behavior, also for transient changes of the contact patch properties, shows the necessary mathematical descriptions used for the simulation of the vehicle dynamics. The introduction to control for cars and its extension to complex applications using e.g. observers and state estimators is a main part of the book. Finally the formulation of proper multibody codes for the simulation leads to the integration of all parts. Examples of simulations and corresponding test verifications show the profit of such a theoretical support for the investigation of the dynamics of passenger cars."

This thesis talks about how to do an analysis of institution relationship among technical institutions for national road damage treatment by system dynamics. Analysis of Institution done by identification of function of every institution that related of it. Generally, the problems of road damage treatment are: money follows fuction concept poor done and there is function differentiation from operation and maintenance in road institutions, and poor coordination among road institutions relationships. It use qualitative research. When built the model, it has state of the system is Road Services Life Time, extracted in seven sub sistem, are: Quality of Road Construction, Quality of Road Maintenance Treatment, Quality of Heavy Load Control, Quality of Disaster Control, Quality of Side Friction Control, Quality of Drainage Services and Quality of Managenement Information System of Road Database. From analysis of institutional model, define some mistakes that causes how poor road management in Indonesia, caused are: bad regulation, bad implementation and bad coordination. The big problem from institution side there is fuction differentiation from operation and maintenance to several institutions. The impacts from no coordination among road institutions and existing data, big national costly in national road are IDR 1.74 billion/km/yr. If there are coordination among road institutions and existing data, national costly in national road are IDR 1.68 billion/km/yr. The research suggest some treatment concepts are: fixed institutionals performance and improving institutionals performance. These activities are: making Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) among road institutions in term of road damage treatment, performace base contract, to do betterment for government employee incentive in term of road institutions and privatization for weighted bridge measurement."
