Translation of literary works has its own challenges from various factors such as language style and cultural content. Therefore, the translation of Saidjah-Adinda's poems in Multatuli's novel Max Havelaar is interesting to discuss. The data used in this study were sourced from the Dutch version of the seventeenth chapter of Max Havelaar's novel, the Indonesian translation by H. B. Jassin (TSa 1) and Ingrid Dwijani Nimpoeno (TSa 2), and the English translation by Baron Alphonse Nahuys (TP). The data is in the form of two poems by Saidjah-Adinda in Dutch, two versions in Indonesian and in English. The theory used in this study is Mona Baker's theory regarding translation strategies at the word level. This study used descriptive qualitative method. The researcher will mark the words in the source text which are not literally translated along with their translations, then compare the words in the source language with their translations in the target language using the help of three dictionaries in Dutch, English and Indonesian. The researcher will then analyze the strategies used by translators based on Baker's translation theory at the word level. Based on data analysis, there are four of Baker's eight translation strategies used in translating two poems from chapter seventeen of Max Havelaar's novel. As a result of relay translation, semantically Nimpoeno's translation (TSa 2) is not that far from Jassin's translation (TSa 1). This cannot be separated from the role of Nahuys' translation as an intermediary for the translation of TSa 2."

During the Japanese occupation (1910-1945), the Korean people experienced severe suffering due to the restraints carried out by the Japanese colonial government in various ways. During the Japanese occupation, many literary works were born, one of which is the poem Dak by Yun Dong-ju. This poem was written in 1936 and used ironic symbolic dictions to convey the anxiety the poet feels about the life of the Korean people who were confined during the Japanese occupation. This study aims to describe the interpretation of Yun Dong-ju's poem Dak. In this study, the author uses a semiotic approach with reference to Michael Riffaterre's theory. This research uses descriptive analysis method with a qualitative approach. Data collection is done by using literature study techniques. Then the collected data is processed using qualitative data analysis techniques. The results of the research show that in Dak's poetry the poet used a lot of symbolic dictions such as 'chicken', 'sky', and 'cage'. These dictions represent Korean people and their living conditions who at that time did not have freedom in their own homeland.

Every literary translation has its own challenges for the translators. Not only translating word by word, sentence by sentence or paragraph from the source language (BSu), the translator must also transfer the meaning in accordance with the grammatical structure, communication situation, and cultural context of the target language text (BSa). This research discusses the translation of legal terms within the scope of word groups from John Grisham's English novel "The Chamber" (TSu) into Dutch (TSa1) and Indonesian (TSa2) translations. The theory used in this study is Larson's theory at the word group level. The method used in this research is qualitative and uses literature study. The results of the data analysis show that in both the Dutch and Indonesian translated novels, the legal terms in the word groups of these two novels are generally translated idiomatically. The translator translates the texts in accordance with the legal structure and context of both target texts (TSa), so the translation results appear natural and can be understood by the readers of the translated novels because the original meaning of the legal terms from TSu is well conveyed in TSa.

As the result of this research is that Haneul and Heokkaebi contained the same way to describe people whom have powers in government and those who have good education as someone whose scary and speaks nonsense in front of the mass.
