"Di Indonesia, citra pendukung sepak bola dianggap menjadi permasalahan bangsa dikarenakan perilaku mereka yang seringkali melakukan tindak kekerasan, kerusuhan hingga jatuhnya korban jiwa. Perilaku kerumunan pendukung sepak bola tersebut dapat diteliti secara spasial dengan mengetahui latar belakang identitas, bagaimana kerumunan memaknai ruang mereka di dalam stadion sehingga pemaknaan ruang itu dapat mempengaruhi kerumunan dalam melakukan aktivitas dan atribut yang mereka tunjukan. Pergerakan mereka saat memasuki stadion hingga selesai keluar dari area stadion juga dipengaruhi bagaimana tahapan kerumunan berlangsung. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data yang dilakukan pada penelitian ini menggunakan metode observasi lapangan, wawancara mendalam dengan para pelaku kerumunan pendukung sepak bola Persija yang sebelumnya mewancarai gate keeper untuk kemudian dapat menetapkan kriteria informan yang ingin diwawancarai. Triangulasi data dengan menvalidasi informasi melakui kajian pustaka, hasil observasi lapangan, dan jawaban informasi lain mengenai topik yang serupa. Hasil pada perilaku spasial yang terjadi pada kerumunan massa sepak bola Persija atau The Jakmania terlihat dari perbedaan karakteristik pada kelompok-kelompok kerumunan yang terbentuk di dalam stadion yang terbagi atas paham Ultras yang berada di utara yaitu Curva Nord, selatan yaitu Outsider atau The Jakmania yang berasal dari luar Jakarta. Paham lokal, Hooligan dan kelompok kerumunan yang memilih menonton pada tribun VIP atau VVIP. Tribun utara dan timur yang terdapat kerumunan paham Ultras dan lokal memiliki kecenderungan mendominasi di dalam stadion disebabkan identitas kedaerahan Jakarta memiliki peran yang penting dalam kepemilikan ruang. Pergerakan pendukung dari luar stadion gelora bung karno kedalam atau sebaliknya dipengaruhi bagaimana jenis kerumunan saat itu menurut teori Gustav Le Bon. Sehingga akhirnya dapat dihasilkan penelitian berupa gambaran deskiptif bagaimana kerumunan massa The Jakmania berperilaku secara spasial.
