Penelitian ini menyarankan agar fresh graduate membangun jaringan dukungan sosial guna meningkatkan adaptabilitas dalam menghadapi tantangan dunia kerja.

"Angka pengangguran pada lulusan perguruan tinggi menjadi salah satu masalah yang dapat menyebabkan terjadinya krisis seperempat abad jika tidak ditangani dengan serius. Jika dilihat dari usia, lulusan perguruan tinggi termasuk pada kategori usia dewasa awal. Krisis seperempat abad merupakan sebuah krisis yang dialami oleh seorang individu ketika mereka memasuki usia dewasa awal, yang terjadi pada rentang usia 18 hingga 29 tahun. Apabila krisis ini dibiarkan secara berlanjut, maka akan berdampak pada kesehatan mentalnya. Krisis ini dapat diminimalisir salah satunya dengan memberikan dukungan sosial keluarga, sebagai lingkup terdekat individu. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini memiliki tujuan untuk mengetahui tingkat krisis seperempat abad dan dukungan sosial keluarga, serta untuk mengetahui hubungan antara dukungan sosial keluarga dengan tingkat krisis seperempat abad pada lulusan perguruan tinggi. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada bulan Juni 2024 dengan menggunakan metode kuantitatif. Sampel dalam penelitian ini menggunakan metode nonprobability sampling dengan teknik convenience sampling. Penelitian ini menggunakan skala Quarter Life Crisis yang sudah dimodifikasi, dan Social Support Network Scale (SSNS) sebagai alat ukur. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menyebarkan kuesioner melalui media komunikasi WhatsApp, Instagram, dan Twitter. Responden dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 150 orang yang merupakan lulusan perguruan tinggi di wilayah Jakarta lulusan tahun 2023-2024. Berdasarkan hasil temuan, mayoritas lulusan perguruan tinggi di wilayah Jakarta periode tahun 2023-2024 memiliki tingkat dukungan sosial keluarga pada kategori sedang, dan memiliki tingkat krisis seperempat abad pada kategori sedang. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya hubungan antara dukungan sosial keluarga dengan tingkat krisis seperempat abad dengan arah hubungan keduanya adalah positif dengan kekuatan hubungan lemah.

The unemployment rate among college graduates is one of the problems that can cause a quarter-life crisis if not handled seriously. When viewed from age, college graduates are included in the early adulthood category. A quarter-life crisis is a crisis experienced by an individual when they enter early adulthood, which occurs between 18 and 29. If this crisis is allowed to continue, it will have an impact on their mental health. This crisis can be minimized, one of which is by providing family social support, as the individual's closest circle. Therefore, this study aims to determine the level of quarter-life crisis and family social support, as well as to determine the relationship between family social support and the level of quarter-life crisis in college graduates. This study was conducted in June 2024 using a quantitative method. The sample in this study used the nonprobability sampling method with the convenience sampling technique. This study uses a modified Quarter Life Crisis scale, and the Social Support Network Scale (SSNS) as a measuring tool. Data collection was carried out by distributing questionnaires through WhatsApp, Instagram, and Twitter communication media. The respondents in this study were 150 people who were college graduates in the Jakarta area graduating in 2023-2024. Based on the findings, the majority of college graduates in the Jakarta area for the period 2023-2024 had a level of family social support in the moderate category and a level of quarter-life crisis in the moderate category. The study results showed a relationship between family social support and the level of quarter-life crisis with the direction of the relationship between the two being positive with a weak relationship strength."

"Penerapan kebijakan Merdeka Belajar-Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) di perguruan tinggi saat ini menjadi upaya yang dilakukan oleh pemerintah untuk meningkatkan kualitas lulusan di Indonesia. Hanya saja, program MBKM tersebut dapat memberikan tantangan dan kesulitan tersendiri bagi mahasiswa selama mereka menjalaninya. Mahasiswa dinilai memerlukan kemampuan adaptabilitas karier untuk mampu menjalani salah satu tugas perkembangan karier tersebut dengan optimal. Dukungan sosial dan psychological capital dinilai menjadi faktor yang berperan penting dalam mengembangkan kemampuan tersebut. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peran psychological capital dalam memediasi hubungan antara dukungan sosial dan adaptabilitas karier pada mahasiswa yang sedang menjalani program MBKM. Partisipan penelitian terdiri atas 149 orang mahasiswa Indonesia yang sedang menjalani program MBKM. Alat ukur yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Career Adapt-Abilities Scale International Form (CAAS-IF), Child and Adolescent Social Support Scale (CASSS), dan Academic Psychological Capital Questionnaire (A-PCQ) yang sudah diadaptasi dan diterjemahkan ke dalam bahasa Indonesia. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa psychological capital memediasi secara penuh hubungan antara dukungan sosial dan adaptabilitas karier mahasiswa yang menjalani program MBKM. Semakin tinggi dukungan sosial yang diperoleh mahasiswa, maka akan semakin meningkatkan modal psikologis pada dirinya, yang pada akhirnya akan semakin meningkatkan kemampuan adaptabilitas kariernya.

The implementation of the Merdeka Belajar-Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) program in higher education institutions aimed to improve the quality of future graduates in this fourth industrial revolution era. However, the program as students’ new career development tasks provides new challenges and difficulties during their participation. To keep optimizing their performance in such conditions, students need career adaptability. Social support and psychological capital are allegedly the important factors that contribute to enhancing students’ career adaptability. This study aimed to investigate the mediating role of psychological capital in the relationship between social support and career adaptability among students. This study used the Indonesian version of the Career Adapt-Abilities Scale International Form (CAAS-IF), Child and Adolescent Social Support Scale (CASSS), and Academic Psychological Capital Questionnaire (A-PCQ). The results from 149 college students across Indonesia that are participating in MBKM Program indicated that psychological capital fully mediated the relationship between social support and career adaptability. The more social support that students receive from their surroundings, the more it boosts their psychological capital, which in turn enhances their career adaptability during the MBKM program."

"Mahasiswa yang baru lulus (freshgraduates) merasa kesulitan untuk mendapatkan pekerjaan yang disebabkan oleh kesenjangan ekspektasi antara perusahaan dengan kompetensi yang dimiliki mahasiswa freshgraduate, terutama pada masa transisi dari dunia perkuliahan ke dunia kerja. Mahasiswa dianggap tidak siap dan kurang memiliki kepercayaan diri, serta kurang mengeksplorasi kariernya sebelum melalui masa transisi (Nghia, 2018). Keberhasilan mahasiswa pada masa transisi akan menentukan kesuksesannya dalam berkarier di masa depan (Koen et al., 2012). Peneliti mengajukan bahwa permasalahan ini dapat diatasi dengan memiliki adaptabilitas karier yang baik. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian korelasional (N = 466) dengan tujuan melihat bagaimana dukungan sosial dapat meningkatkan adaptabilitas karier melalui adversity quotient pada mahasiswa tingkat akhir yang berkuliah di daerah Jabodetabek. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dukungan sosial memprediksi adaptabilitas karier. Adversity quotient terbukti memediasi sebagian hubungan kedua variabel tersebut dengan ditemukannya signifikansi pada indirect effect pada analisis mediasi.

Many freshgraduates experience difficulties in obtaining jobs right after graduating due to the existence of gap between the expectation of employer and the skills possessed by freshgraduates. This condition frequently occurs in the transition period to working world. These freshgraduates are considered lacking in confidence, readiness, and self exploration to enter the working world (Nghia, 2018). The quality of getting through the transition period would determine future career success of freshgraduates (Koen et al., 2012). This research proposes that this issue can be tackled by possessing career adaptability. This correlational research (N = 466) aims to discover how social support would play a role in elevating career adaptability through adversity quotient of final year student in Jabodetabek area. Results showed that social support predicted career adaptability. Furthermore, adversity quotient also played a role in mediating the relationship of both variables. This is proved by the significance of indirect effect in mediation analysis."

"Dunia pekerjaan yang saat ini terus berubah menuntut individu yang berada dalam masa transisi karier memiliki sumber daya untuk beradaptasi dalam dunia pekerjaan, terlebih pada mahasiswa tingkat akhir. Meski telah banyak ditemukan berpengaruh positif terhadap adaptabilitas karier, masih terdapat inkonsistensi hubungan antara dukungan sosial terhadap adaptabilitas karier. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat peran ketiga dimensi identitas vokasional, sebagai faktor internal individu, dalam memediasi hubungan antara dukungan sosial dan adaptabilitas karier. Partisipan penelitian merupakan 466 mahasiswa tingkat akhir di perguruan tinggi mengisi kuesioner Career Adapt-Abilities Scale-Indonesian Form, Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support, dan Vocational Identity Status Assessment. Analisis mediasi dengan PROCESS menunjukkan dukungan sosial memiliki hubungan signifikan dengan adaptabilitas karier (b = 0,40, t(466) = 3,16, p < 0,01). Analisis mediasi menunjukkan bahwa dua dari tiga dimensi identitas vokasional memediasi secara sebagian hubungan antara dukungan sosial dan adaptabilitas karier pada mahasiswa tingkat akhir, yakni dimensi career exploration (b = 0,19, 95% CI = [0,13-0,26]) dan dimensi career commitment (b = 0,18, 95% CI = [0,13-0,25]). Di sisi lain, tidak ditemukan peran mediasi dari dimensi career reconsideration dari identitas vokasional.

The everchanging world of work nowadays requires individuals who are in career transition period to have the resources to adapt, especially for final year students. Although many studies have found its positive role, there are still contradictory and inconsistent findings of the relationship between social support and career adaptability. This study was aimed to see the role of the three vocational identity dimensions, as individual internal factors, in mediating the relationship between social support and career adaptability. Participants in this study were 466 final year university students who filled questionnaires consisting of Career Adapt-Abilities Scale-Indonesian Form, Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support, dan Vocational Identity Status Assessment. Mediation analysis using PROCESS confirmed that social support had a positive and significant relationship with career adaptability (b = 0,40, t(466) = 3,16, p < 0,01). Mediation analysis revealed that two of the three dimensions of vocational identity played a mediating role in the relationship of social support and career adaptability, namely career exploration (b = 0,19, 95% CI = [0,13-0,26]) and career commitment (b = 0,18, 95% CI = [0,13-0,25]). However, mediating role of career reconsideration dimension were not proven in this study."

"Mahasiswa yang sedang mempersiapkan diri mereka memasuki dunia kerja dengan mengikuti kegiatan magang dapat menghadapi kesulitan yang memengaruhi adaptabilitas karier mereka. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat peran persepsi dukungan sosial terhadap adaptabilitas karier pada mahasiswa tingkat akhir yang mengikuti program magang. Penelitian ini juga hendak mengidentifikasi sumber persepsi dukungan sosial mana yang paling berperan dalam hubungan antara kedua variabel tersebut. Kriteria partisipan penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa sarjana tingkat akhir pada perguruan tinggi di Indonesia yang sedang atau pernah mengikuti program magang. Pengambilan data dilakukan menggunakan alat ukur Career Adapt-Abilities Scale (CAAS) dan Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support (MSPSS). Teknik statistik korelasi Pearson dan multiple regression digunakan untuk menganalisis hubungan serta peran antara persepsi dukungan sosial dengan adaptabilitas karier. Hasil analisis menunjukkan terdapat hubungan positif yang signifikan antara persepsi dukungan sosial dengan adaptabilitas karier pada mahasiswa tingkat akhir yang mengikuti program magang. Akan tetapi, effect size antara kedua variabel tersebut tergolong kecil. Sementara itu, sumber persepsi dukungan sosial yang bersumber dari orang tua ditemukan sebagai satu-satunya sumber yang memiliki hubungan signifikan dengan adaptabilitas karier. Limitasi serta saran untuk penelitian selanjutnya dijelaskan dalam penelitian ini.

Undergraduate students who are preparing themselves to enter the workforce by participating in internships may face difficulties that affect their career adaptability. This study examines the role of perceived social support on career adaptability among final-year undergraduate students who have participated in an internship program. It also aims to identify which source of perceived social support plays the most significant role. The criteria for participants in this study are final-year undergraduate students in a university in Indonesia who are currently participating or have participated in an internship program. Data collection was carried out using the Career Adapt-Abilities Scale (CAAS) and the Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support (MSPSS). Pearson's correlation and multiple regression techniques were used to analyze the relationship between the two variables. Results show that there is a positive and significant relationship between perceived social support and career adaptability. However, the effect size is considered small. Meanwhile, perceived social support from parents was found to be the only source with a positive and significant relationship with career adaptability. Limitations and suggestions for further research are described in this study."

"Mahasiswa tingkat akhir dan Fresh Graduates merasa kesulitan untuk mendapatkan pekerjaan akibat perubahan di era revolusi Industri 4.0 dan pandemi Covid-19. Selain itu pada masa transisi dari dunia Pendidikan ke dunia kerja mahasiswa cenderung tidak mandiri dan merasa bingung untuk menentapkan pilihan karirnya (Indianti,2015). Di sisi lain mahasiswa yang gagal untuk mengakomodir tujuan karirnya dapat merasakan dampak jangka pendek dan Panjang. Dampak jangka pendek yang dirasakan adalah performa akademik yang menurun, penundaan kelulusan, dan merasa pembelajaran tidak sesuai dengan minat pribadi(Indianti,2015), dan dampak jangka panjang yang dirasakan adalah kesulitan mencari pekerjaan, terganggunya kepuasan akan karir, peningkatan stress yang dapat mengakibatkan depresi, dan dipandang sebagai grup tanpa motivasi dan tanpa karir di masa mendatang (Sözbilir dkk.,2018). Maka dari itu penelitian ini mengajukan bahwa dengan memiliki adaptabilitas karir, mahasiswa dapat menghadapi perubahan yang terjadi dan mengatasi permasalahannya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat pengaruh penggunaan media sosial terhadap adaptabilitas karir mahasiswa tingkat akhir. Penggunaan media sosial diukur dengan SMUAS (Social Media Usage Aims Scale) dan adaptabilitas karir diukur dengan CAAS versi Bahasa Indonesia. Partisipan merupakan mahasiswa tingkat akhir (N = 446) dari universitas di seluruh Indonesia yang aktif menggunakan media sosial LinkedIn dan Instagram. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan media sosial secara keseluruhan mempengaruhi adaptabilitas karir sebesar 13,6% ( = .372, p < 0.01) sedangkan dimensi penggunaan media sosial mempengaruhi adaptabilitas karir sebesar 22,4% . Beberapa dimensi penggunaan media sosial yang ditemukan mempengaruhi adaptabilitas karir secara keseluruhan, yaitu dimensi As a Task Management Tools (ATMT) dan Education and Informational. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut mengungkapkan bahwa seseorang dapat meningkatkan adaptabilitas karir, saat menggunakan media sosial untuk kegiatan seperti mengorganisir jadwal sehari-hari dan kegiatan yang berkaitan dengan edukasi.

Final year students and Fresh Graduates find it difficult to obtain a job due to changes in the era of the Industrial revolution 4.0 and the Covid-19 pandemic. In addition, during the transition from the world of education to the world of work, students tend to be independent and experience confusion in making career choices (Indianti, 2015). On the other hand, students who fail to accommodate their career goals can experience short and long term impacts. The perceived short-term impact is decreased academic performance, delayed graduation, and the feeling that learning is not in accordance with personal interests (Indianti, 2015), while the perceived long-term impact is difficulty finding work, disrupted career satisfaction, increased stress which can lead to depression, and also being seen as a group without motivation and without a future career (Sözbilir et al., 2018). Therefore, this study proposes that by having career adaptability, students can face the changes that occur and overcome their problems. This study aims to see the effect of using social media on the level of career adaptability of final year students. The use of social media is measured by SMUAS (Social Media Usage Aims Scale) and career adaptability is measured by the Indonesian version of CAAS. Participants are final year students (N = 446) from universities throughout Indonesia who actively use social media LinkedIn and Instagram. The results showed that the overall use of social media affects career adaptability by 13.6% (β = .372, p < 0.01) while the dimensions of social media use affect career adaptability by 22.4%. Several dimensions of social media use were found to affect overall career adaptability, namely the As a Task Management Tools (ATMT) and Education and Informational dimensions. These results revealed that one can improve career adaptability, when using social media for activities such as organizing daily schedules and activities related to education."

"Program Magang dan Studi Independen Bersertifikat (MSIB) menjadi salah satu program Merdeka Belajar-Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) yang paling diminati mahasiswa karena dapat membekali keterampilan nyata dunia kerja dengan konversi maksimal 20 SKS. Selain memberikan manfaat bagi mahasiswa, program tersebut juga memberikan tantangan baru bagi mereka. Mahasiswa dinilai membutuhkan kemampuan adaptabilitas karier agar dapat mengoptimalkan performanya dalam program tersebut. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peran core self-evaluation dan kepribadian proaktif dalam memediasi hubungan dukungan sosial dengan adaptabilitas karier pada mahasiswa yang sedang menjalani program MSIB. Partisipan penelitian ini terdiri atas 175 orang mahasiswa Indonesia yang sedang menjalani program MSIB. Alat ukur yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Career Adapt-Abilities Sca le International Form (CAAS-IF), Child and Adolescent Social Support Scale (CASSS), Core Self-Evaluation Scale (CSES), dan Proactive Personality Scale (PPS), yang sudah diadaptasi dan diterjemahkan ke dalam Bahasa Indonesia serta dimodifikasi sesuai dengan konteks penelitian. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa core self-evaluation dan kepribadian proaktif memediasi secara parsial hubungan antara dukungan sosial dan adaptabilitas karier mahasiswa yang sedang menjalani program MSIB. Semakin tinggi dukungan sosial yang diperoleh mahasiswa, maka akan semakin meningkatkan core self-evaluation dan kepribadian proaktifnya, yang pada akhirnya akan meningkatkan kemampuan adaptabilitas kariernya. Di sisi lain, dukungan sosial sendiri dapat memengaruhi adaptabilitas karier secara langsung, yaitu semakin tinggi dukungan sosial yang diperoleh mahasiswa, maka akan semakin meningkatkan kemampuan adaptabilitas kariernya.

Magang dan Studi Independen Bersertifikat (MSIB) program is one of the Merdeka Belajar-Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) programs that most in demand by undergraduate students, because it can equip students with real skills needed by the world of work with maximum 20 credits conversion. Despite of the benefits, this program provides new challenges for them. Students are considered need career adaptability to optimize their performance in the program. In order to develop these abilities, social support, core self-evaluation, and proactive personality are factors that play an important role for students. This study aims to determine the role of core self-evaluation and proactive personality in establishing the relationship between social support and career adaptability in students who are undergoing the MSIB program. The participants of this study consisted of 175 Indonesian students who were undergoing the MSIB program. The instrument used in this study are the Career Adapt-Abilities Scale International Form (CAAS-IF), Child and Adolescent Social Support Scale (CASSS), Core Self-Evaluation Scale (CSES), and Proactive Personality Scale (PPS), which have been adapted and translated into Indonesian and modified according to the research context. The results showed that core self-evaluation and proactive personality partially mediated the relationship between social support and career adaptability of students undergoing the MSIB program. The higher the social support obtained by students, the more they will increase their core self-evaluation and proactive personality, which in turn will increase their career adaptability."

"Adaptabilitas karier adalah kemampuan penting bagi mahasiswa yang akan memasuki dunia kerja dan diketahui berhubungan positif dengan dukungan orang tua, mengingat peran orang tua masih relevan di tahap perkembangan ini. Hubungan tersebut diduga dimediasi oleh career decision self-efficacy (CDSE). Penelitian ini bertujuan menguji peran CDSE sebagai mediator antara dukungan orang tua dan adaptabilitas karier pada mahasiswa Indonesia. Partisipan yang terlibat dalam penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa program Diploma dan Sarjana Perguruan Tinggi di Indonesia (N = 216). Ketiga variabel penelitian diukur menggunakan Career Adapt-Adapt Abilities Scale (CAAS), Career-related Parent Support Scale (CRPSS), dan Career Decision Self-Efficacy Scale Short Form (CDSE-SF). Hasil analisis statistik menunjukkan bahwa CDSE memediasi penuh hubungan antara dukungan orang tua dan adaptabilitas karier pada mahasiswa (ab = 0,1984, 95% CI [0,1294, 0,2815]). Temuan ini mendukung kerangka Social Cognitive Career Theory (SCCT) dan menekankan pentingnya penguatan CDSE dalam pengembangan karier mahasiswa dan masih relevannya dukungan orang tua terhadap perkembangan karier mahasiswa.

Career adaptability is an important competency for students entering the workforce and is known to be positively associated with parental support, as parents still play a relevant role at this stage of development. This relationship is hypothesized to be mediated by career decision self-efficacy (CDSE). This study aims to examine the mediating role of CDSE in the relationship between parental support and career adaptability among Indonesian university students. The participants were diploma and undergraduate students from universities in Indonesia (N = 216). The three research variables were measured using the Career Adapt-Abilities Scale (CAAS), the Career-related Parent Support Scale (CRPSS), and the Career Decision Self-Efficacy Scale Short Form (CDSE-SF). Statistical analysis showed that CDSE fully mediated the relationship between parental support and career adaptability (ab = 0.1984, 95% CI [0.1294, 0.2815]). These findings support the Social Cognitive Career Theory (SCCT) framework and emphasize the importance of strengthening CDSE in students’ career development, as well as the continuing relevance of parental support in their career growth."

"Fenomena di lapangan menunjukkan bahwa adaptabilitas karier merupakan faktor yang menentukan keberhasilan mahasiswa strata 1 (S-1) dari Provinsi Papua dan Papua Barat dalam menyelesaikan pendidikannya. Oleh karena itu penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji pengaruh dukungan sosial yang dirasakan dari orang tua, teman dan dosen terhadap adaptabilitas karier melalui core self-evaluation pada mahasiswa S-1 dari Provinsi Papua dan Papua Barat. Responden penelitian adalah 176 mahasiswa S-1 dari Provinsi Papua dan Papua Barat yang menempuh pendidikan di beberapa wilayah di Indonesia, baik perguruan tinggi atau swasta. Instrumen yang digunakan meliputi tiga macam skala yaitu Social Provision Scale, Core Self-Evaluation Scale dan Career Adapt-abilities Scale yang disebarkan dalam jaringan (online). Pengolahan data menggunakan macro PROCESS dari Hayes. Hasil uji menunjukkan bahwa core self-evaluation memediasi sebagian pengaruh dukungan dari orang tua (ab = 0,1105, p < 0,05), teman (ab = 0,1142, p < 0,05) dan dosen (ab = 0,1390, p < 0,05) terhadap adaptabilitas karier mahasiswa S-1 dari Provinsi Papua dan Papua Barat. Selanjutnya implikasi, limitasi dan saran untuk penelitian akan didiskusikan.

The phenomenon in the field shows that career adaptability is a factor that determines the success of undergraduate students from Papua and West Papua Provinces in completing their education. Therefore, this study aims to examine the effect of perceived social support from parents, friends and lecturers on career adaptability through core self-evaluation among undergraduate students from Papua and West Papua Province. Research respondents were 176 undergraduate students from Papua and West Papua Province who studied in several regions in Indonesia, either public or private universities. The instruments used include three different scales, namely the Social Provision Scale, the Core Self-Evaluation Scale and the Career Adapt-abilities Scale. All scale are distributed online. Data processing uses the PROCESS macro from Hayes. The test results showed that the core self-evaluation partially mediated the influence of perceived social support form parents (ab = 0.1105, p <0.05), friends (ab = 0.1142, p <0.05) and lecturers (ab = 0.1390, p <0.05) on the career adaptability among undergraduate students from Papua and Papua Barat Provinces. Further implications, limitations and suggestions for research are discussed."
