"Rumah adalah suatu naungan untuk manusia melepas lelah setelah melakukan berbagai aktivitas dan juga sebagai sarana interaksi antar sesame penghuni rumah atau bahkan dengan lingkungannya. Sebagai tempat manusia melepas lelah, sebaiknya rumah mampu memenuhi kebutuhan manusia tersebut, agar saat memulai aktivitas lagi mereka sudah kembali bersemangat dan penuh tenaga. Sedangkan sebagai sarana interaksi, rumah juga harus mampu menghadirkan kualitas ruang yang ideal untuk manusia berinteraksi atau nyaman dari segi fisik dan mental. Secara keseluruhan rumah harus mampu membuat penggunanya ?betah? berada didalamnya. Kebutuhan manusia akan naungan yang nyaman, aman, dan sehat tidak terhindarkan lagi.
Jumlah manusia yang terus bertambah di dalam kota, memaksa banyak keluarga muda dengan penghasilan menengah memilih bertempat tinggal di pinggiran kota. Keterbatasan dana mendorong optimalisasi setiap jengkal lahan, fungsi setiap ruang, dan penggunaan bahan. Dengan iklim tidak bersahabat dan berbagai polusi yang mencemari, perlu usaha lebih untuk mendapatkan hunian yang sehat.
Oleh karena itu, pembahasan saya dalam skripsi ini adalah bagaimana ilmu arsitektur membantu mewujudkan rumah sederhana sehat dengan tetap mengembangkan kreatifitas desain rumah yang menarik.

Home is a shelter for human to release weary after many activities and as interaction medium among denizen and also their surroundings. As a human place to release weary, home should fulfill those necessary, so when human start the activities again they are completely relief, enthusiastic and powerful. As an interaction medium, home must presents ideal quality space for human interaction or feel comfortable physically and mentally. Over all, home should be capable make the dweller feels totally comfortable on it. The human necessity of comfortable, secure and healthy shelter becomes irresistible.
The amount of people in town that continuously increasing makes many young families with middle income chooses to live in sub urban area. The limitation of fund urges people optimizes each land span, space function, and material utilization. With unfriendly climate and much pollution, need extra effort to get a healthy dwelling space.
In conclusion, my research is about how architecture helps build a healthy simple home while still creating an interesting home design."
