"Penelitian ini ditujukan untuk mengetahui pemaknaan perempuan novelis mengenai kecantikan dalam karyanya. Sumber data yang digunakan yaitu empat essai dalam novel Si Parasit Lajang terdiri atas esai berjudul Klinik THT (Telinga, Hidung dan Tetek); Barbie, Barbie Barbie; dan Keputihan sedangkan dalam novel Pengakuan Eks Parasit Lajang yaitu esai berjudul Nilai. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan tipe analisis semiotika. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa secara denotatif, konstruksi kecantikan dalam novel tidak berbeda dengan yang direpresentasikan dalam media massa (iklan, film, dll) yakni disimbolisasikan dengan Barbie, tubuh tinggi, putih, langsing meskipun teks tersebut ditulis perempuan novelis yang tergolong sastra wangi (feminis). Makna konotasi menunjukan bahwa kecantikan dinilai dari segi fisik seperti tinggi, putih, langsing yang merujuk pada kemampuan finansial karena mampu mereparasi tubuh. Makna konotasi juga menunjukkan bahwa perempuan novelis mengkonstruksikan kecantikan sejalan dengan nilai dominan, walaupun masih menawarkan nilai kecantikan alternatif (non-fisik). Mitos menunjukan makna bahwa kecantikan perempuan melalui berbagai macam bentuk reparasi tubuh dianggap berdosa dan konsumtif karena masyarakat masih mempercayai penilaian kecantikan sebagai kodrat. Kecantikan fisik diungkapkan novelis lebih banyak dimaknai sebagai cara utama dalam menilai kecantikan dibandingkan penilaian kecantikan non-fisik. Konstruksi novelis mengenai kecantikan dalam novel sejalan dengan pemaknaan novelis tentang kecantikan. Novelis menilai bahwa perempuan memiliki hak untuk dapat membentuk kecantikan sesuai dengan keinginannya melalui reparasi tubuh, baik operasi plastik atau pun bersolek.

This study aimed to find out the meaning of beauty according to female novelist in her work. The primary data are four essays in Si Parasit Lajang: Klinik THT (Telinga, Hidung dan Tetek); Barbie, Barbie Barbie; and Keputihan, meanwhile in novel Pengakuan Eks Parasit Lajang the essay titled Nilai. This study is using a qualitative approach with semiotic analysis. The results showed that the denotation meaning of beauty in the text as drafted in the mass media that show the symbol on the Barbie beauty, skin whitening products, body repair to beauty contests like Miss Universe and model. Connotations shows that in terms of physical beauty assessed as high, white, slim which refers to financial ability. Myth indicates meaning that the beauty of women through various forms of reparation and consumptive body is considered sinful because people still trust the judgment of beauty as God’s will, nature, even gift. Novelist considered that physical beauty is more considered to represent the beauty than nonphysical. Construction novelist of beauty in the novel is the same as her meanings. Novelist sees that a woman have the right to be able to develop beauty according to their desires; through body repair and good plastic surgery.

"Skripsi ini membahas konsep kecantikan wanita dalam panyandra berbahasa Jawa. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif deskriptif. Sementara itu, sumber data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah 7 buku teks berbahasa Jawa yang terbit pada tahun 1958 hingga 2011. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menemukan makna metaforis panyandra yang membangun konsep kecantikan wanita Jawa. Teori yang digunakan untuk menganalisis data adalah teori metafora Lakoff dan Johnson (1980) dan teori komponensial Nida (1975). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa melalui analisis makna metaforis ditemukan 70 makna metaforis panyandra berbahasa Jawa yang terdiri atas 3 kategori dan 34 subkategori pembangun konsep kecantikan wanita Jawa.

This research discusses women’s beauty concepts of Javanese panyandra (proposition). Data that is used consisted of primary and secondary data which are taken from 7 Javanese language textbooks since 1958 until 2011, and analyzed based on descriptive qualitative research method by using theory of metaphor by Lakoff and Johnson (1980) and theory of componential meaning by Nida (1975). The aim is to discover the metaphorical meaning of the women’s beauty concepts of Javanese panyandra. As a result, there are 70 panyandra which can be found that form the concepts of women’s beauty, and those panyandra have 3 categories and 34 subcategories of metaphorical meaning that form the concept of women’s beauty of Javanese panyandra.

"Penelitian ini menganalisis aksi purpose branding yang dilakukan oleh produk kecantikan Garnier Indonesia. Dengan pengetahuan tentang isu lingkungan yang sedang marak terjadi, kini perusahaan industri manufaktur sebagai salah satu kontributor masalah lingkungan mulai mengambil tindakan untuk memberikan dampak positif bagi lingkungan dan sosial. Keputusan untuk mengambil tindakan ini didukung oleh kondisi masyarakat yang semakin sadar akan pentingnya menjaga lingkungan untuk kehidupan yang lebih baik. Oleh karena itu, untuk tetap dapat berdiri sebagai merek yang baik dan terpercaya, perusahaan mengambil tindakan dengan tujuan keberlanjutan melalui komitmen jangka panjang yang dikampanyekan. Inilah yang dilakukan oleh produk kecantikan Garnier Indonesia. Dengan citra mereknya sebagai produk kecantikan yang peduli terhadap permasalahan lingkungan, Garnier membentuk kampanye Green Beauty. Analisis dalam penelitian ini menggunakan metode analisis data sekunder dan studi literatur. Melalui materi yang ditemukan pada website dan Instagram Garnier Indonesia, peneliti melihat adanya konsistensi Garnier Indonesia dalam mensukseskan dan mengomunikasikan kampanye Green Beauty. Hasil analisis penemuan data sekunder memperlihatkan bagaimana aksi dari komitmen kampanye Green Beauty dapat membangun citra merek Garnier Indonesia.

This study analyzes the purpose branding action carried out by Garnier Indonesia beauty products. With knowledge about environmental issues that are currently rife, now manufacturing industry companies as one of the contributors to environmental problems are starting to take action to have a positive impact on the environment and social. The decision to take this action is supported by the condition of the people who are increasingly aware of the importance of protecting the environment for a better life. Therefore, to remain able to stand as a good and trusted brand, the company takes action with the aim of sustainability through campaigning long-term commitments. This is what Garnier Indonesia beauty products do. With its brand image as a beauty product that cares about environmental issues, Garnier formed the Green Beauty campaign. The analysis in this study uses secondary data analysis methods and literature studies. Through the materials found on Garnier Indonesia's website and Instagram, the researcher saw Garnier Indonesia's consistency in succeeding and communicating the Green Beauty campaign. The results of the analysis of secondary data findings show how the actions of the Green Beauty campaign commitment can build Garnier Indonesia's brand image."
