The aim of the research is to investigate the effectiveness of direct corrective feedback in Grammarly which was combined with noticing activities to evaluate the accuracy of students’ academic writing. In addition, students’ perception was also studied to get a better understanding of the students’ perception for the combined use of noticing activity and Grammarly in the classroom. This study was carried out because of the accuracy problem in applying grammatical rules when students write an academic paper. This research used mixed methods with a quantitative method to analyse the results of students’ writing from experimental-research-design and a qualitative method to analyse and describe the result of the questionnaire. The data taken for this research is the writing of the students in the 4th semester from the department of English Education in a private university in Sidoarjo, and the result of the questionnaire on students’ perception. The results of the research indicated that there was an increment of students’ post-test mean scores in both experimental and control classes. However, through the t-test, the post- test mean score of the experimental class is higher than the post-test mean score the of control class. Moreover, it was revealed that there was a significant reduction of grammatical errors in the students’ papers both during the daily tasks and during the post-test. The result from the questionnaire also showed that the students found it helpful for having noticing activities after using Grammarly to evaluate the grammatical errors in their writing. Therefore, it is expected that the combined use of Grammarly and noticing activities can be implemented to improve and evaluate the accuracy of students’ academic writing. For further research, integrating noticing activities with other grammatical checkers available on the Internet is necessary to be conducted. Then, we can compare the effectiveness of the use of Grammarly in teaching writing.

"Control from MEMS to atoms illustrates the use of control and control systems as an essential part of functioning integrated systems. The book is organized according to the dimensional scale of the problem, starting with micro-scale systems and ending with atomic-scale systems. Similar to macro-scale machines and processes, control systems can play a major role in improving the performance of micro- and nano-scale systems and in enabling new capabilities that would otherwise not be possible. However, the majority of problems at these scales present many new challenges that go beyond the current state-of-the-art in control engineering. This is a result of the multidisciplinary nature of micro/nanotechnology, which requires the merging of control engineering with physics, biology and chemistry."

"This book presents a mechatronic approach to Active Noise Control (ANC). It describes the required elements of system theory, engineering acoustics, electroacoustics and adaptive signal processing in a comprehensive, consistent and systematic manner using a unified notation. Furthermore, it includes a design methodology for ANC-systems, explains its application and describes tools to be used for ANC-system design. From the research point of view, the book presents new approaches to sound source localization in weakly damped interiors. One is based on the inverse finite element method, the other is based on a sound intensity probe with an active free field. Furthermore, a prototype of an ANC-system able to reach the physical limits of local (feed-forward) ANC is described. This is one example for applied research in ANC-system design. Other examples are given for (i) local ANC in a semi-enclosed subspace of an aircraft cargo hold and (ii) for the combination of audio entertainment with ANC."

ABSTRACT
Biometric recognition refers to the use of physical and biological characteristics to rec ognize an individual. This biometrics recognition aims to facilitate the identification pro cess. Until now, the used of identification process of is widely targeting adults that usinga fingerprint patterns, face shape. However, the recognition that is intended for infantsand toddlers is still very minimal, there is not even a special method that can solve theproblem of recognition in infants and toddlers. Infants and toddlers also need a methodof recognition that is able to recognize them since childhood, so the process of filing be comes more organized. By performing more detailed defects, information regarding toimmunization history, history of illness and education history can be obtained quickly. In this study, proposed a method that is able to solve problems on infant and toddlerbiometrics recognition using fingerprint. Fingerprint recognition in this study used theLevel 1 features in form of the fingerprint ridge and feature level 2 in form of minutia. Both levels of this feature will be combined by adding a fingerprint enhancement mecha nism called feedback mechanism. The feedback mechanism will make improvements inlevel 1 scale features. The results obtained in this study is the proposed method is able to overcome the prob lems faced on baby fingerprint image. The combination of level 1 and level 2 features fol lowed by feedback mechanisms can produce better accuracy compared to a combinationof level 1 and level 2 features without feedback mechanism."

"Computer-aided nonlinear control system design provides such an approach based on the use of describing functions. The text deals with a large class of nonlinear systems without restrictions on the system order, the number of inputs and/or outputs or the number, type or arrangement of nonlinear terms. The strongly software-oriented methods detailed facilitate fulfillment of tight performance requirements and help the designer to think in purely nonlinear terms, avoiding the expedient of linearization which can impose substantial and unrealistic model limitations and drive up the cost of the final product.
Design procedures are presented in a step-by-step algorithmic format each step being a functional unit with outputs that drive the other steps. This procedure may be easily implemented on a digital computer with example problems from mechatronic and aerospace design being used to demonstrate the techniques discussed. The author's commercial MATLAB®-based environment, available separately from insert URL here, can be used to create simulations showing the results of using the computer-aided control system design ideas characterized in the text."
