"Tesis ini membahas tentang Konsep Science Center dan Program Edukasi. Lokasi penelitian adalah Pusat Peragaan Iptek Taman Mini Indonesia Indah Jakarta. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian yang bersifat deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Hasil dari penelitian ini mengidentifikasikan bahwa Pusat Peragaan Iptek dalam Konsep dan Program Edukasinya belum dapat menyentuh semua lapisan masyarakat. Hal ini disebabkan karena Konsep dan Program Edukasi Pusat Peragaan Iptek hanya dapat dipahami bagi orang yang mempunyai dasar sains. Pusat Peragaan Iptek harus memperbaharui Konsep dan Program Edukasinya agar dapat menyentuh seluruh lapisan masyarakat.

This thesis discusses the concept and Science Center Education Programs. Location of the study is Pusat Peragaan Iptek Taman Mini Indonesia Indah in Jakarta. This research is a descriptive study with a qualitative approach. Results of this study indicated that Pusat Peragaan Iptek in Education Programs and Concept can not touch all levels of society. This is because the concept and Education Programs Pusat Peragaan Iptek can only be understood for people who have basic science. Pusat Peragaan Iptek must renew Concept and Education Programs in order to reach all levels of society."

"Tulisan ini bermaksud menganalisa perkembangan terbaru pada ASEM yang berkaitan dengan perluasan keanggotaan baik di UNI Eropa maupun di Asia Timur, sejauh mana pertambahan anggota ini mempengaruhi proses ASEM. Uni Eropa telah bertambah dengan 10 negara anggota baru, sementara Asia Timur dengan tiga anggota baru. Selain itu,telah terbentuk banyak sekali bilateral free trade agreements di kawasan Asia Timur. Semua perubahan-perubahan ini tentunya saling mempengaruhi dan kait-mengait serta menentukan arah dari proses ASEM selanjutnya."

"Agriculture in Indonesia is still an important sector in the economy, while for several outer provinces it constitutes the most important economic activity. However, there exists a wide discrepant in agricultural development between in particular Java/Ball and the eastern part of Indonesia. This is the very central issue which the author intents to capture the attention of policy makers in the field of agricultural development. The most advanced region for agricultural cultivation is highly concentrated on the island of Java, while in many parts of eastern Indonesia agricultural cultivation is still underdeveloped in terms of number of plant varieties, product quality and productivity. And these backward farmers belong to the poor group in the population. This wide discrepant in agricultural development is being demonstrated through a number of tables and personal observations by the author. Soil condition, climate and inputs do of course determine the volume, quality and kind of output, but know-how about agricultural technologies is no less important, and this is lacking in the Eastern regions. Unfortunately, thus far the central as well as the local governments do not put much attention to regional agricultural development. Therefore the government should change this attitude or rather its negligence about the problem, because through education in agricultural technologies and extension services the farmers in the outer regions could improve their agricultural technical know-how, contribute to regional development and hence their income."

"Economic development as a field of study started right after the end of World War II, which coincided with the independence declaration of a number of colonial areas m Asia and Africa. "Saliva is essential for preservation of oral health. It aids in preparation of the initial food bolus, assist in taste and swallowing, and lubricates the oral mucosa. In addition it has antiviral, antifungal, and antibacterial properties. Consequently, salivary gland dysfunction can lead to complaints of oral dryness (xerostomia). Diseases of the thyroid gland, hyperthyroidism and hypothyroidism, and their treatment have also been suggested to cause salivary gland dysfunction. In addition head and neck radiation therapy, treatment for head and neck cancers can cause irreversible salivary gland function. This case study, reported one patient with thyroid cancer in which the thyroid gland has been removed and received head and neck radiation therapy."

"World Trade Organization (WTO) adalah kepanjangan dari GATT (General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade), dan mulai berdiri 1 Januari 1995. Karena itu semua tujuan, prinsip perdagangan dunia dan hasil-hasil perundingan Putaran-Putaran perdagangan di bawah GATT, di mana yang terakhir adalah Putaran Uruguay, menjadi bagian dan mengikat bagi WTO. Namun WTO adalah badan yang sama sekali berbeda dengan GATT. Dalam GATT dahulu tidak ada negara anggota, tetapi negara peserta adalah contacting party dari GATT, dalam arti bahwa suatu negara peserta hanya terikat dengan peraturan-peraturan tertentu saja yang ditanda-tanganinya dan tidak terikat dengan semua peraturan yang ada dalam GATT. Sementara dalam WTO, semua negara peserta adalah anggota dan semua kesepakatan yang ada dalam WTO tanpa kecuali mengikat bagi semua anggota dan ada sanksi hukumnya (legally binding) bila terjadi pelanggaran. Kedudukan hukum WTO jauh Iebih kuat, karena selain ditanda-tangani oleh Menteri Perdagangan masing-masing negara peserta, isi kesepakatan Putaran Uruguay dan pendirian WTO jugs harus diratifikasi oleh parlemen negara anggota masing-masing, artinya diperkuat oleh persetujuan wakil-wakil rakyat. Demikianpun, DPR Indonesia telah memberikan persetujuannya pada tanggal 2 November 1994. "
