"Abstrak
Drinking water is indispensable for human life. This study investigated the distribution of rainwater harvesting tanks (RWHTs) by non-governmental organizations (NGOs) to address the drinking water crisis in southwest coastal Bangladesh. Field surveys conducted in Shyamnagar Upazila revealed that NGOs more often subsidise rather than donate RWHTs. NGOs subsidised RWHTs for wealthier households because they fulfil criteria such as tin roofs possession and NGO-organised activities involvement. Accordingly, poor households were excluded from NGO RWHT distribution activities as they failed to meet the required criteria. The phenomena may be due to the commercialisation of NGOs and the NGO policy of generating a sense of ownership toward RWHT among villagers. However, excessive commercialisation of NGOs may hamper the provision of safe drinking water to the people most in need, even though the commercialisation of NGOs and the generation of a sense of ownership toward given assets are essential for the sustainability of NGOs and their activities."

"Abstrak
Separation between military (tni) and police ( polri), both structure and roles, is perceived as a great achievement of military reform in Indonesia. such separation was nonexixtence during soeharto authoritarian regime as both of them were operated under angkatan bersenjata republik indonesia (abri) and shared the internal security role, including for handling domestic terrorism. following the reform, their roles have been redefined toward its original function in which polri manages internal security and tni handles defence matters. however the raise of domestic terrorism threat has triggered further discussion on who is responsible to handle terrorist threat. since it occured domestically, polri claimed that is their role in managing internal security. while the military also claimed that counter terrorism is also part of their role as mentioned under the task of military operation other that war. along with ambiguous approach of anti terrorism measures, it has brought tension for both institutions. thit paper aims to identify the political dynamics of tni polri relations in searching for counter terrorism authority"

"The Indonesian Armed Forces used to be at the forefront of the countryʼs counterterrorism efforts. Following the countryʼs democratic transition in 1998, the Indonesian National Police took up the lead role. However, many analysts argue that the military is trying to regain its past dominance in counterterrorism. Regardless of this concern, the military does not have to be at the forefront of the countryʼs counterterrorism efforts to influence the overall policy and practices. The lingering militaryʼs historical legacies remains intact in Indonesiaʼs counterterrorism governance. This research highlights three dynamics: (1) The interagency rivalries; (2) the framing of issues; and, (3) the inherent militaryʼs ideological legacies. Despite various political changes that Indonesia underwent in the past few decades, these
dynamics are still relevant in discussing the contemporary counterterrorism governance and practices in Indonesia. This research will demonstrate the importance of historical understanding to analyse Indonesiaʼs counterterrorism governance."

"This study explores how multigenerational family members negotiate intergenerational relationships and reconfigure family norms through childcare practices in contemporary Chinese middle-class families. The study draws upon semi-structured interviews with seven young wives, all of whom are only daughters, from various cities in China. The study found that intergenerational relationships were significantly tilted in favor of the wifeʼs side, and the power of the maternal family was intensified by providing childcare support. In the wivesʼ narratives, tension and conflict with in-laws were the main reason alienating them from each other. Moreover, traditional family norms have gradually transformed. The husbandʼs parents were more likely to hold traditional values, such as a preference for multiple children or boys, but their influence has been considerably diluted. On the other hand, the maternal family has selectively rejected, accepted, or modified traditional norms through their achieved power, and exploits traditional norms to further their advantage."
