Abstrak :
This research aim to determine the commodity of fetishism in political advertisement which used by the mayor candidates of Bengkulu city who entered into the second round in the regional election in bengkulu, 2012. Using a qualitative approach, the data were collected through observation and deep interviews. In addition, a political advertisement w9s also considerably important as a data, it was taken from printed and electronic media at both local and online media. The informants in this research were the voters in the city of Bengkulu who have used their right of vote to choose one of the candidates for mayor of Bengkulu city. Moreover, the key informants also played important role in this research, they were not only the professionals and political figures but also some of media crews who followed and involved as long as the election process took place. The result showed that the commodity of fetishism in the political advertisement of the mayor candidates who entered into the second round are so prominent and less of creativity. Instead of using some political communication media to increase their image, just some of the candidates who used the advertisement as an advertising media. Furthermore, among four of political communication media, such as organizational, interpersonal, mass media and group of interest, almost all candidates who advertised themselves in the official released of KPU did not use all of the political communication media, as a result there are no significant and dramatic advertisement made by the candidates.

Abstrak :
One of the roles of the mass media is to inform. It means that its mainfunction is to retell many events or histories to its audience. In retelling these events mass media constructs many realities to become a meaningful story. Therefore, all mass media contens are constructed realities. The most interesting topic, especially for womens media, such as womens magazine, is career women. This paper tried to examine how career women or successful women are presented in woman transnational magazine in Indonesia. The writer used constructivist paradigm to understand how successful women are described on Profile Section in transnational womens magazine Her World Indonesia. Since Her World is categorized as a modern magazine, the writer assumed that it brought modern values. By using the Halliday and Hassan model of analysis or social semiotic analysis, the findings showed that Her Worlds criteria of prominent woman is a woman who works outside, has a bright career, and well-paid. But she is still concerned with her family and she is always referring her achievement to the support of her husband or her father.

This research aim to analyzing framing the news on the existence of political kinship in a clan a large family of Ratu Atut Chosiyah in Banten. The become the object of study is two local media. The issue in this research that review is an analysis of framing about politics a large family of Ratu Atut Chosiyah. A method of research that we use is using a qualitative approach, use of a model of framing developed Robert N Entman. Steps taken in doing framing analysis is by seeing the aspect of selection issues and the aspect of the protrusion. This research result indicates that there are two different approach the issue that carried out the print media localized in Banten provincial. Radar Banten put forward issues that do not conflict with the issue of the proposed by clan a large family of Ratu Atut Chosiyah. Issues floated more soft (smooth) and the presence of a predisposition in favor the existence of political kinship a large family of Ratu Atut Chosiyah. Meanwhile, Kabar Banten using approach on the contrary, namely through the issues opposite to political kinship a large family of Ratu Atut Chosiyah. On certain moment Radar Banten put forward asked the public to continue development, while do in Kabar Banten more invite people to commit pollical change

Abstrak :
Communication is a dynamic field and constantly moves in the direction of human civilization. Communication were initially confined to the study of rhetoric and persuasion, in the modern era has been transformed into an interdisciplinary field, that explicitly challenging all forms of conventional boundaries, both theoretically and methodologically. Today, with the development of digital technology, the media landscape has changed, new media has been dominating all areas of human life, trends in communication studies then shifted towards new media, which more likely to interactive and two-way. This study will conduct an analysis of the historical development of communication studies, as well as a variety of contexts underlying the development of communication studies. By understanding the evolution of communication studies, we can learn how each era in history seeks to systematically solve mysteries in communication. It becomes essential to examine further, considering that the theory and methodology of communication is not something that comes in a vacuum. He emerged from the negotiations in the dialectic of human history. Thus, any historical development will bring new themes in the study of communication, and this study will look at it chronologically.
