"Lu Xun adalah salah satu sastrawan Cina modern yang menaruh perhatian pada kondisi sosial masyarakat Cina di dalam beberapa karya sastranya. Salah satu karyanya yang terkenal adalah cerita pendek berjudul “药Yao” atau Obat. Melalui penokohan, metafora, dan gambaran kondisi sosial yang terdapat dalam cerita pendek Obat, Lu Xun mengungkapkan kondisi masyarakat yang sebenarnya terjadi pada masa pemerintahan dinasti terakhir di Cina, yaitu Dinasti Qing. Makalah ini membahas cerita pendek Obat yang merefleksikan kondisi sosial masyarakat pada masa akhir Dinasti Qing.

Lu Xun is one of the modern Chinese writers which pay attention to the social conditions of Chinese society in his several literary works. His one of the most famous writing is a “药Yao” or Medicine short story. Through the characterizations, metaphors, and descriptions of social conditions that are contained in the Medicine short story, Lu Xun revealed the real conditions about the society that happened during the reign of the last dynasty in China, which is called Qing Dynasty. This paper discusses about the Medicine short story that reflected society’s social condition at the end of the Qing Dynasty."
