"This study aims to determine the perception and interest of Indonesian society towards "Gig Work" or freelance work and the factors that influence it. This study uses data collection in the form of a Survey that is distributed freely through Google Form. This study analyzes each variable univariately and also introduces several control variables so that the process uses Probability Unit Regression (Probit) which compares gender, marital status, and also education level. From the results of the study, it can be concluded that the most determining factor in someone's interest in gig work is motivation based on economic needs. This finding is consistent with the understanding that motivation based on financial needs has a positive impact on someone's interest in a job, and in this study, the job is gig work.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengaetahui persepsi dan ketertarikan masyarakt Indonesia terhadap “Gig Work” atau pekejraan lepas dan faktor-faktor yang memengaruhinya. Penelitian ini menggunakan pengumpulan data dalam bentuk dari Survei yang disebarkakn secara lepas melalui Google Form. Penelitian ini menganalisa setiap variabel secara univariat dan juga mengenalkan beberapa variabel kontrol agar yang di proses menggunakan Probability Unit Regression (Probit) yang membandingkan antara jenis kelamin, status perkawinan, dan juga tingkat pendidikan. Dari hasil penelitian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa faktor yang paling menentukan ketertarikan seseorang terhadap gig work adalah motivasi yang berdasakran pada kebutuhan ekonomi. Temuan ini konsisten dengan pemahaman bahwa motivasi yang berlandaskan kebutuhan finansial memiliki dampak positif terhadap ketertarikan seseorang kepada sebuah pekerjaan, dan pada studi ini, pekerjaan tersebut adalah gig work atau pekerjaan lepas."

"Pandemi COVID-19 meningkatkan angka pengangguran sehingga mendorong munculnya pekerja lepas dalam dunia digital, salah satunya host live streaming. Namun saat ini masih belum ada jaminan dalam pekerjaan mereka, sehingga kondisi psikososial pekerja lepas host live streaming Mico Live di Management 30M perlu ditinjau. Penelitian ini diawali dengan gambaran terkait status kelas pekerja host live streaming sebagai pekerja rentan dan tantangan yang dihadapinya. Kemudian gambaran kondisi pekerja terkait psikososial terhadap pekerjaanya dan peran manajemen berkaitan dengan hal tersebut. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan tujuan deskriptif yang dilakukan sejak September 2022 hingga Juni 2023 dengan teknik pengambilan data melalui wawancara kepada enam informan. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pekerja lepas host live streaming di management 30M telah dapat mengelola permasalahan sosialnya dengan baik dan memaksimalkan kesempatan sosial yang ada. Hal tersebut digambarkan dengan terpenuhinya kebutuhan akan otonomi, kompetensi, dan hubungan sosial yang terdapat pada lingkungan kerja host live streaming, yang berhubungan dengan pengelolaan yang dilakukan oleh manajemen.. Penelitian ini memiliki manfaat di bidang Ilmu Kesejahteraan Sosial, untuk menjadi acuan bahan ajar terkait mata kuliah Kesejahteraan Sosial dalam Sektor Industri khususnya mengenai pekerja lepas.

The COVID-19 pandemic has increased unemployment rates, leading to the emergence of freelancers in the digital world, including live streaming hosts. However, currently, there is still no job security for them, so the psychosocial conditions of freelancers working as live streaming hosts at Management 30M need to be examined. This research began by providing an overview of the vulnerable working class status of live streaming hosts and the challenges they face. Subsequently, it depicted the workers' psychosocial conditions related to their work and the role of management in this regard. The study is qualitative in nature, with a descriptive purpose, conducted from September 2022 to June 2023, using data collection techniques such as interviews with six informants.The findings of this research indicate that freelance hosts in Management 30M have been able to manage their social issues effectively and maximize existing social opportunities. This is illustrated by the fulfillment of their needs for autonomy, competence, and social relationships within the live streaming host work environment, which is related to the management's practices. The study's significance lies in the field of Social Welfare Sciences, as it serves as a reference for teaching materials related to the Social Welfare course in the Industrial Sector, especially concerning freelancers."

"Penelitian ini membahas mengenai kerentanan dalam ekonomi gig dalam bentuk kerja lepas, lewat platform digital Upwork, di kalangan mahasiswa sarjana. Dalam penelitian ini, ekonomi gig bukan hanya dipandang sebagai pekerjaan yang mengedepankan fleksibilitas, melainkan juga sebuah kondisi kerja yang tidak pasti dan rentan. Studi-studi sebelumnya berargumen bahwa, ekonomi gig dapat menjadi solusi atas keterbatasan penyerapan angkatan kerja pada sektor pekerjaan formal, termasuk bagi mahasiswa yang ingin menyibukkan diri dalam dunia profesional di samping kegiatan akademik. Sementara itu, studi lainnya membongkar kerentanan kerja pada ekonomi gig. Namun, dari banyaknya penelitian, belum banyak yang fokus kepada analisis mengenai bagaimana pekerjaan lepas melalui platform digital tetap diminati oleh mahasiswa sarjana di tengah kerentanan kerja yang mereka hadapi. Penelitian ini berargumen bahwa neoliberal governmentality beroperasi melalui mekanisme kerja platform yang bersandar pada prinsip pasar bebas. Selain itu, studi ini mengambil perspektif neoliberal subjectivity dalam konteks mahasiswa sarjana dalam menginternalisasi dan mempraktikkan kerja lepas. Melalui pendekatan kualitatif dengan wawancara mendalam sebagai teknik pengumpulan data, penelitian ini menemukan bahwa subjektivitas dalam kerangka neoliberalisme mampu mengkondisikan normalisasi kerja rentan.

This research explores the precariousness within the gig economy in the form of freelance work on the digital platform Upwork among undergraduate students. In this study, the gig economy is not only viewed as a form of work that emphasizes flexibility, but also a condition of precarity and uncertainty. Previous studies have argued that the gig economy can be a solution to the limited absorption capacity of the formal labor sector, including for students who wish to engage in professional activities alongside their academic commitments. On the other hand, other studies have uncovered the precarious nature of work in the gig economy. However, despite the growing number of studies, there has been little focus on analysing why freelance work through digital platforms continues to appeal to undergraduate students despite the labor vulnerabilities they fave. This study argues that neoliberal governmentality operates throught platform labor mechanisms that rely on free market principles. Furthermore, it adopts the perspective of neoliberal subjectivity to understand how undergraduate students internalize and practice freelance work. Using a qualitative approach and in-depth interviews as the primary data collection method, this research finds that subjectivity within the neoliberal framework enables the normalization of precarious work."
