"Using Eurostat data for 2007, 2010 and 2012, the authors examine the effects of the 2008 crisis on the situation of male and female workers in Italy, Ireland and Portugal, with particular attention to changing labour market dynamics, (intra-household) employment patterns, and incomes. The gender gaps in employment, unemployment and precarious employment are narrowing, but this trend cannot be interpreted as progress toward gender equality: it is driven by men's increasingly vulnerable position resulting from the generalized deterioration of labour market conditions, including the growth of precarious and/or low-paid employment, unemployment and poverty to the detriment of household living standards."

This research elaborates on how Manic Pixie Dream Girl is a Hollywood trope that romanticises the male gaze and how male writers see female characters, orchestrating them in a way that they only serve purpose to the male protagonist and to submit to his needs so that he can advance in his own life while the female character stays stagnant in her life. In this research, we challenge how females are represented in the current film industry where it`s filled with male creators and not enough female filmmakers. There has yet to be a coherent study that deeply explores this trope and the danger it imposes to impressionable young females who are in the phase of finding themselves. This subtle yet powerful form of misogyny is deeply rooted in the lack of female filmmakers, thus the portrayal of women is only that of the thought of male filmmakers."

Gender inequality in women and men often occurs in community. Gender inequality also happens to women in Papua, as told in the novel Isinga. This is due to the patriarchal culture being adopted in Papuan culture. Types of gender inequality that can be found in this novel are marginalization, subordination, stereotype, violence, and double burden. All five of them are correlated with each other. The most pronounce gender inequality being double burden and violence."
