Abstrak :
Studi ini ingin melihat konstruksi identitas gender pada laki-laki yang bekerja di salon. Studi ini diawali oleh rasa ingin tahu terhadap konstruksi gender pada laki-laki yang bekerja di salon, yang didasari atas pemahaman bahwa dunia salon merupakan bidang kerja yang erat dengan perempuan dan feminimitas. Bagaimana konstruksi identitas yang terjadi ketika seorang laki-laki yang diharapkan memiliki sifat maskulinitas bekerja di salon yang erat dengan feminimitas. Studi ini dilakukan dengan metode kualitatif dan jenis penelitian deskriptif, tekhnik pengumpulan data pada studi kasus ini meliputi wawancara mendalam dan observasi. Hasil penelitian ini menemukan bahwa konstruksi identitas gender yang terjadi pada laki-laki pekerja salon, tidak begitu saja dipengaruhi oleh lingkungan kerjanya, melainkan akumulasi konstruksi identitas gender yang dimiliki oleh individu tersebut. Setiap individu dapat memaknai gender atau sifat maskulin dan feminine yang di dapatnya dari proses interaksi, baik didapatkan dari proses sosialisasi dari keluarga atau lingkungan sosial individu tersebut. Studi ini juga menunjukan bahwa sifat maskulin dan feminine terdapat pada setiap diri individubaik laki-laki ataupun perempuan. Dalam penelitian ini juga menyimpulkan bahwa identitas gender merupakan suatu hal yang cair, sifat maskulin dan feminine dalam diri individu dapat berubah kapan saja ketika individu tersebut memang ingin melakukanya. ...... This study is looking for the construction of gender identity of men who works inhair salon. it begins from the willingness to know about this construction of gender. Based on the connected with the feminity and females activities. How this constructionof identity happened when man with the masculinity quality works in the female’s place. The study works with the qualitative method and descriptive research, the technic of data collection on this study covers interview and observasion. The result of this study found that this construction of gender identity, was not only influenced by the by the working place, but also by the accumulation of construction of gender identity that belong to each individual or personal. Each individual could find this gender or masculinity and feminity that they get from the interaction process, as well as the socialization process of their family or the social influence of this individual. This study also shows that the masculinity and feminity could be found in every single male or female. On this research they found that this gender identity is liquid thing, those masculinity and feminity on each individual could be changed at anytime this person wanted to do it.

Abstrak :
This study untangles the complex interplay of individual and contextual factors shaping cross-national differences in horizontal and vertical occupational sex segregation. It relates the individual factors affecting occupational decisions to the broader social and economic context within a given society. Stephanie Steinmetz provides a comprehensive overview of the development and causes of cross-national differences in occupational sex segregation. She offers insights into the positioning of 21 EU Members States, particularly of former CCE countries. Finally, the study assesses the empirical findings from a political perspective by addressing the future contextual challenges of EU Member States seeking to attain higher gender equality on the labour market.
