......This study aims to determine the impact of internationalization on companies’ capital structures, especially on the leverage level. This research was conducted using a balanced data panel and the fixed effect robust method. The research comprises 60 listed companies from 5 selected sectors (basic materials, consumer discretionary, consumer staples, industrials, telecommunication and technology) in ASEAN-4 countries (Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand, and Malaysia), with a total of 600 observations over the years 2003–2012, including the during, before and after the global financial crisis period. The results of this study show that internationalization has a significant negative effect on a company’s leverage. Companies that have international operations or have already implemented an internationalization strategy have a lower leverage level compared to companies that don't have international operations. Over the years 2003–2012, including the before and after the global financial crisis period, control variables such as political risk, size, return on assets and growth have had a significant effect on ASEAN-4’s companies' leverage levels."

"[The book provides a panoramic approach to social exclusion, with emphasis on structural causes (education, health, accidents) and on short term causes connected with the crisis which started in 2008. The picture emerging, based on econometric analysis, is that the crisis has widened the risk of social exclusion, from the structural groups, like disabled people and formerly convicted people, to other groups, like the young, unemployed, low skilled workers and immigrants, in terms of income, poverty, health, unemployment, transition between occupational statuses, participation, leading to a widening of socio-economic duality. It has also been stressed the relevance of definitions of socio-economic outcomes for the evaluation of the crisis, and their consequences to define interventions to fight socio-economic effects of the economic downturn. The adequacy of welfare policies to cope with social exclusion, especially during a crisis, has been called into question., The book provides a panoramic approach to social exclusion, with emphasis on structural causes (education, health, accidents) and on short term causes connected with the crisis which started in 2008. "The global financial and economic shock of 2007-09 is the third major economic crisis to have buffeted Cambodia in its post-conflict period, coming in the wake of the food crisis of 2007-08 and just a decade after the Asian financial crisis of 1997-98 (the "triple crises"). Cambodia's post-conflict history can be divided into two periods: 1991-98, referred to as the early phase of transition during which the first of the triple crises, the Asian financial crisis, occurred; and 1998 to the present, the late phase of transition during which the food and economic shocks transpired. A stocktake of the developments in Cambodia's post-conflict history suggests that the country has come a long way in reinstituting the foundations of a capitalist economic and procedural democracy but has yet to make significant headway in economic sophistication and substantive democracy. The triple crises were different, yet had similar characteristics. They were all exogenously-driven shocks with their own specific causes but their effects were shaped by the country's situation at the time."
