"Skripsi ini mengkaji teks iklan berbentuk brosur pariwisata dalam brosur pariwisata Singapura dengan menggunakan pendekatan analisis keutuhan wacana. Analisis ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui keutuhan wacana yang diketahui melalui alat kohesi dan koherensi melalui hubungan anatarproposisi dan konteks dengan menggunakan sintesis dari beberapa ahli, seperti Halliday-Hasan (1976), Kridalaksana (1999), Alwi, dkk. (2003), Cook (1992), Cutting (2002), dan Larson (1988). Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif dengan cara mendeskripsikan. Hasil penelitian ini memperlihatkan bahwa teks yang dianalisis merupakan teks yang kohesif dan koheren.

This research is about the discourse analysis of advertising text in tourism brochure of Singapore. The purpose of this study is to know discourse unity who know with cohesion and coherence instrument with interpropotition relation and context with synthetic theory from some expert, like Halliday-Hasan (1976), Kridalaksana (1999), Alwi, dkk. (2003), Cook (1992), Cutting (2002), and Larson (1988). This research uses qualitative method with description. The result indicates that text who analysis is cohesive and coherent."

"The development of tourism in Indonesia, Singapore and Malaysia showed a deep gap between three countries, especially in the number of visitor arrivals. The writer is trying to reveals the gap and the reason why the gap exist between them. The fact showed that in developing tourism, Singapore and Malaysia had established an independence body to handle tourism sector separated with the policy makers. This body had full authority in handling tourism because they were financed by private sector. The separation between the policy maker and the executor had proofed to be very effective in driving the development. The executor was then supported by provincial executor body that worked under the command of the central body. In Indonesia there is no separation between the policy maker and the executor, consequently the task and responsibility is not clear yet. The result showed that Indonesia is still backward in developing tourism with only a few international tourists visiting he country. "
