This paper is about the use of white savior narratives in mass media products such as film. The focus of this research is to see how white savior narratives in film reinforce the whiteness as the norm and socially mark minorities in a multicultural society such as the United States. As a secondary qualitative research, this paper is a film analysis of Green Book (2018) through its chosen film techniques such as mise-en-scene that creates its form and style. The research has found that white savior narratives reinforce whiteness by presenting racism through the perspective of a white main character; presenting racism as a ignorance rather than a systemic injustice; and having the minority character saved by the white main character. Minorities are socially marked through the use of stereotypes and other ways. One of the recommendations for this paper is primary research towards audience perception of white savior narratives in film."

Abstract
This thesis discusses the representation of Rote Armee Fraktion and Generation 68 in the movie die fetten Jahre sind vorbei directed by Hans Weingartner. Drawing from Stuart Hall's theory of representation and identity, the research utilizes the theory alongside with other approaches in its analysis. Results show that the movie represents the characters Jan, Jule, and Peter as the milenium generation of Rote Armee Fraktion through a depiction of identical ideologies and the background history of the character Justus Hardenberg. This movie also places itself in a position opposite to prior media portrayals of Rote Armee Fraktion"
