"Coming Home (归来 guīlái) adalah film Tiongkok dengan latar belakang romansa dan latar waktu saat Revolusi Kebudayaan tahun 1966-1976 yang rilis pada tahun 2014. Peristiwa Revolusi Kebudayaan harus selalu diingat agar tidak terulang kembali di masa yang akan datang. Penelitian ini membahas tentang makna asosiatif dari kata 归来 guīlái di dalam film Coming Home (归来 guīlái) yang disutradarai oleh Zhang Yimou. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengkaji kata 归来 guīlái dari faktor-faktor di luar bahasa, yaitu melalui adegan, dialog, penokohan, dan alur. Penulis menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data dokumentasi, observasi dan studi pustaka untuk menulis penelitian ini. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah makna kata 归来 guīlái atau ‘pulang’di dalam film bukan hanya sekedar kembali ke rumah, namun masih ada makna mendalam lainnya dari setiap adegan yang muncul di dalam film. Kata ‘pulang’ jika dikaitkan dengan adegan-adegan di dalam film Coming Home dapat diasosiasikan dengan mengingat kembali kejadian di masa lalu karena ketiga tokoh utama, yaitu Lu Yanshi, Feng Wanyu dan Dandan tidak merasakan ‘pulang’ dengan makna yang sesungguhnya. Makna asosiatif dari kata ‘pulang’ jika dikaitkan dengan adegan-adegan di dalam film bersifat negatif menjadi perpisahan, pengkhianatan dan pengalaman traumatis.
......Coming Home (归来 guīlái) is a Chinese film with a romantic background and a time setting during the 1966-1976 Cultural Revolution, which was released in 2014. The events of the Cultural Revolution must always be remembered so that they do not happen again in the future. This study discusses the associative meaning of the word 归来 guīlái in the film Coming Home (归来 guīlái), directed by Zhang Yimou. The purpose of this study is to examine the word 归来 guīlái from factors outside of language, namely through scenes, dialogues, characterizations, and plot. The author uses qualitative research methods with documentation data collection techniques, observation, and literature study to write this research. This study concludes that the meaning of the word 归来 guīlái or 'going home' in the film is not just returning home, but there is another more profound meaning in every scene that appears in the film. The word 'going home' when associated with scenes in the film Coming Home can be associated with recalling past events because the three main characters, Lu Yanshi, Feng Wanyu, and Dandan, do not feel 'going home' in an absolute sense. The associative meaning of the word 'coming home' when associated with the scenes in the film is negative to separation, betrayal, and traumatic experiences."

"Film Under the Hawthorn Tree karya Zhang Yimou berlatar waktu Revolusi Kebudayaan dan mengisahkan tentang kehidupan Jingqiu, seorang pemuda terpelajar yang memiliki ayah berhaluan kanan dan ibu seorang kapitalis, sehingga harus berjuang keras agar tidak bernasib sama seperti orang tuanya. Prosesnya dalam membangun karier jauh lebih rumit dan berliku-liku dibanding tokoh-tokoh pemuda lain seusianya. Penelitian-penelitian terdahulu tentang film ini sebagian menitikberatkan pada aspek percintaan, hubungan keluarga, hubungan pertemanan, dan perasaan. Penelitian ini akan lebih berfokus pada latar belakang sejumlah tokoh dalam film Under the Hawthorn Tree, yang terbagi menjadi kategori merah dan kategori hitam, beserta dampak-dampak yang mereka terima pada masa Revolusi Kebudayaan. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah dampak yang diterima antara tokoh-tokoh berlatar belakang kategori merah dengan tokoh-tokoh kategori hitam ternyata sangat berbeda. Perbedaan dampak antara kedua kategori ini pula yang menjadi alasan mengapa tokoh-tokoh berlatar belakang kedua kategori ini sulit untuk menjalani hidup berdampingan secara nyaman.
......Zhang Yimou's Under the Hawthorn Tree is set during the Cultural Revolution and tells the story of Jingqiu, an educated youth who had a rightist father and capitalist mother, and had to fight hard to avoid the same fate as her parents. The process of building her career is far more complicated and tortuous than other youths of her age. Previous studies on this movie focused on aspects of romance, family relationships, friendships, and feelings that exist between the characters. This research will focus more on the character’s background in the Under the Hawthorn Tree movie, who are divided into red categories and black categories, along with the impacts they received as people from the red categories or black categories during the Cultural Revolution. The result of this study is the impacts received between characters with a red category background and those with black categories are very different. The big difference in terms of impact between the two categories is also the reason why it is difficult for the characters from these two categories to coexist comfortably."

"The purpose of this paper is to trace the modern history of Indonesia through the experience of two Chinese Indonesians who migrated to the Netherlands at different periods of time. These life stories represent both postcolonial experiences and the Cold War politics in Indonesia. The migration of Chinese Indonesians since the beginning of the twentieth century has had long history, however, most of the previous literature has focused on the experiences of the Peranakan group who are not representative of various other groups of Chinese Indonesian migrants who have had different experiences in making their journey to the Netherlands. This paper will present two stories as a parallel to the more commonly known narratives of the Peranakan experience. "

"ABSTRACT
Menglongshi or misty poetry (also translated as obscure poetry) is one kind of Chinese poems created by young poets who experienced the Cultural Revolution in 1970s. The emergence of a new style of poetry which is different from the previous styles marked a new era of poetry writing in China. its uniqueness lies in wordplay, metaphor, synesthesia, and symbols whose meanings cannot be easily identified. The misty poem also drew the cautious attention of the Chinese government, because the symbols and sequence of sentences were suspected to contain thoughts which are considered not in accordance with the government's policies. Bei Dao and Gu Cheng were known as two of the most important misty poets. This paper analyzes two poems by Bei Dao and two poems by Gu Cheng in terms of their intrinsic elements, such as imagery and language style in order to interpret their meaning. Furthermore, in order to provide more supporting evidence, this research also analyzes the poems extrinsic elements to identify their respective meanings in a more comprehensive way. Therefore, the explanation for the occurrence of Cultural Revolution is a very important finding in this research. This study sought to explain the important role of misty poems in explaining the Cultural Revolution by examining Bei Dao and Gu Cheng's works."

"Skripsi ini membahas tentang pengaruh kondisi sosial politik negara Cina terhadap penokohannya. Kondisi sosial politik yang menjadi latar belakang novel Dengdai karya H? J?n terjadi mulai dari awal tahun 1960 sampai akhir tahun 1980. Jalinan unsur intrinsik dengan unsur ekstrinsik karya sastra adalah kerangka dari analisa skripsi ini. Hasil yang ditemukan menyatakan bahwa latar sosial politik dalam novel yang dekat dengan latar sosial politik pada kondisi nyata kehidupan masyarakat Cina, ternyata memiliki pengaruh kuat terhadap jalannya penokohan. Kehidupan cinta tokoh K?ng L_n, sebagai tokoh utama, sangat terintervensi oleh kondisi sosial politik Revolusi Kebudayaan Cina yang tengah berlangsung dalam kehidupannya."
