"ABSTRAKRiset mendalam mengenai audience effect diketahui untuk mempengaruhi performa. Namun, para peneliti tidak pernah menghubungkannya dengan tekanan waktu, salah satu faktor yang juga mempengaruhi performa. Studi ini bertujuan untuk melihat pengaruh dari audience effect dan tekanan waktu kepada performa ketika mengerjakan tugas yang mudah. Terdapat total 25 peserta wanita dan 15 peserta pria. Peserta dikumpulkan dari University of Queensland dan TAFE University dengan menggunakan convenience sampling. Desain experiment ini adalah 2 (keberadaan audience: adanya penonton dan tidak ada penonton) x 2 (tekanan waktu: tekanan waktu dan tidak ada tekanan waktu) between subject design. Peserta penelitian diminta untuk memberi daftar sebanyak mungkin mengenai kegunaan pisau mentega sebagai tugas mudah mereka. Pada kelompok dengan penonton, peneliti hadir disekeliling peserta saat mengerjakan tugas mereka. Manipulasi tekanan waktu dilakukan dengan memberikan informasi mengenai batas waktu untuk mengerjakan tugas tersebut pada kelompok dengan tekanan waktu. Temuan studi ini menyatakan bahwa tidak ada hasil signifikan dalam kondisi tekanan waktu dan kondisi penonton, serta interaksi dari tekanan waktu dan efek penonton kepada performa. Penemuan ini mungkin terjadi karena kurangnya prosedur kontrol eksperimen yang dilakukan.

ABSTRACTExtensive research on audience effect has been known to affect performance. However, the researchers have never related audience effect with time pressure, a commonly known factor that also affects performance. This study aims to see the effect of both audience effect and time pressure to performance in an easy task. There are a total of 25 female and 15 male participants. The participants are gathered from the University of Queensland and TAFE University through convenience sampling. The design of the study was a 2 (audience presence: audience and no-audience) x 2 (time pressure: pressure and no-pressure) between-subject design. The participants were asked to list as many as possible uses for a butter knife as an easy task. The audience condition had the researcher stay close while the pressure condition was given information about the time limit they have. The findings found no significant result in pressure, audience, and interaction between pressure and audience condition towards performance. This finding may happen due to an uncontrolled procedure when doing the experiment."
