"One of the genera that can be found in Bogor Botanical Gardens plant collection is Ficus (Moraceae). This genus has several habitus, one of which is hemiepiphyte. There are several stages of hemiepiphyte Ficus spp. growth process. It starts from the epiphytic phase to the last phase as a strangler that can kill the host tree. Hemiepiphyte Ficus spp. has a very important role in terms of improving gardens ecological function. However, hemiepiphyte Ficus spp. need to be properly managed in order not to destroy the host plant especially when it is a plant collection with particular value."

"This article examines decolonial approaches to the nature of botanical gardens in Indonesia in the artworks of nine artists featured in the exhibition On the nature of botanical gardens: contemporary Indonesian perspective at Framer Framed, Amsterdam in 2020. Zico Albaiquini, Arahmaiani, Ade Darmawan, Edwin, Samuel Indratma, Lifepatch, Ipeh Nur, Elia Nurvista, and Sinta Tantra presented works which confronted the coloniality of botanical gardens. This article provides a historical reading of the content matter of the artworks presented from a decolonial standpoint as conceptualized by Aníbal Quijano, Walter Mignolo, and María Lugones. The article will demonstrate that the artists have applied various strategies and methods to uncover, criticize, and decolonize botanical gardens and their role in empire-building, knowledge development, and the exploitation of nature. Some artists take this farther and develop a decolonial aesthesis or sensibility in order to re-appropriate Indigenous knowledges and ways of being which were silenced and erased by coloniality."

......This final project provides an overview and explanation of the development of tourism in the Buitenzorg (Bogor), West Java, area during the colonial government in the early 20th century. The construction of the Batavia-Buitenzorg railway line which was opened to the public in 1883 and other means of transportation, as well as the establishment of various departments have had an impact on tourism activities. Buitenzorg was said to be similar to the City of Bloemendal which is located near Haarlem and the Scheveningen area in The Hague is famous for its coolness. Buitenzorg had the closest distance to Batavia compared to other interior areas of Priangan. The Dutch colonial community, especially the residents of Batavia, had a habit of picnicking on the weekends by doing excursions outside the city. This activity gave a rise to the term naar boven or towards the top. In various guidebooks and travel notes, 'S Lands Plantentuin Buitenzorg and its surroundings were a favorite place for tourists who offer natural panoramas. This study provides a more in-depth description of the dynamics of tourism activities in Buitenzorg which distinguishes it from previous research on tourism. The historical method is a method used in writing. The sources used are tourism magazines, newspapers, guide books, and contemporary travel records. The results of the study show that Buitenzorg was a very strategic place for foreign and domestic tourists for vacation. 'S Land Plantentuin (Governments Botanical Gardens) certainly became the main tourism attraction. Although the place had its main function as a center for scientific inquiries. But on the other hand, the management of the 'S Land Plantentuin certainly had a high concern in increasing flow of foreign tourists in Buitenzorg which was done by improving facilities and infrastructures in collaboration with VTV or Tourist Flow Association and local associations."
