......The manufacturing industry is an industry that processes raw materials into semi-finished products or finished products. The design stage is the most influential stages in the manufacturing industry because of this stage affects 70-80 % of production costs. One way to make the product in the manufacturing process is with the machining process. Almost all the production process (60% to 80%) through the machining process, either directly or indirectly. Turning process is a process that is often used in the machining process. Jong Yun Jung classifies six basic features that can be formed by turning process (groove, step, chamfer, round, neck, and cylinder) called as rotational feature. This research calculated the value of the complexity of the setup process CNC lathe machine. Calculations carried out on six basic features that are classified Jong Yun Jung. The method used was introduced by El Maraghy and Urbanic where the assessment is based on the quantity of information, diversity of information, and information content of CNC lathe setup process. In addition, the study also weights of each subprocess in the CNC lathe setup process, so that it can be seen which subprocess that is the most influential in the whole setup process complexity. The calculation and analysis show that the complexity of setup process is relatively close to each six rotational feature ( Σpcx 9928-10481 ) and important aspects that influence differences in complexity value is tool's assy time.

This book shows how some of these ideas from the science of complexity can be applied to the study and management of social phenomena, including traffic flow, economic markets, opinion formation and the growth and structure of cities. Building on these successes, the book argues that the complex-systems view of the social sciences has now matured sufficiently for it to be possible, desirable and perhaps essential to attempt a grander objective: to integrate these efforts into a unified scheme for studying, understanding and ultimately predicting what happens in the world we have made. Such a scheme would require the mobilization and collaboration of many different research communities, and would allow society and its interactions with the physical environment to be explored through realistic models and large-scale data collection and analysis. It should enable us to find new and effective solutions to major global problems such as conflict, disease, financial instability, environmental despoliation and poverty, while avoiding unintended policy consequences. It could give us the foresight to anticipate and ameliorate crises, and to begin tackling some of the most intractable problems of the twenty-first century.

Abstrak :
Focuses on finding the minimum number of arithmetic operations needed to perform the computation and on finding a better algorithm when improvement is possible. The author concentrates on that class of problems concerned with computing a system of bilinear forms. Results that lead to applications in the area of signal processing are emphasized, since (1) even a modest reduction in the execution time of signal processing problems could have practical significance; (2) results in this area are relatively new and are scattered in journal articles; and (3) this emphasis indicates the flavor of complexity of computation.

Worldwide industrial challenges are low cost, short time, and high quality, can be achieved by fulfilling an opportunity to merge DFMA in to product and process complexity. Both DFMA and El-Maraghy complexity modeling, are using feature approach. The merger is conducted by inputting DFMA parameter directly in to complexity model. The purpose of this research, are: exposing step by step of merging method, and testing the unification method to index sand casting product. The outputs are: the method can simply index automotive component made by sand casting process, and the DFMA parameter is clearly shown so it can ease product design changes analysis.

Abstract Product complexity index is an indicator product of manufacturing that describe the products designed and manufactured with a level of complexity or specified complexity. In this study an assessment of product complexity and the complexity of the machining process of the panel roof dies product, product to be used for research are the three main parts of the drawing dies, further products will be analized how much the change in value of product complexity and complexity of the machining process if there are changes in product design panel. Assessment conducted on the variable complexity of the product dies based on aspects of the product features and specifications of shape, geometry, tolerance, surface roughness and hardness. The method used was introduced by ElMaraghy and Urbanic where the assessment is based on the amount of information, variety of information and the information content of a product. The results of assessment of the product complexity and the machining process complexity showed the same changes for punch also for upper-die as big as 2%. These changes are less significant (ie below 5%). So that this change is negligible so the changes of panel roof design does not affect the complexty of the dies.

......Jig is one of the manufacturing tools that functions to position and lock the workpiece in its work location before the assembly or machining process is carried out. The jig used for tack welding process of PT INKA (Persero) KKBW train bolster frames have a long installation time, and quite a lot of deformed output frequencies, which is the basis for the author to modify the jig design to make it more optimal. Design For Manufacture & Assembly or DFMA is an engineering method that focuses on reducing time-to-market and total production costs by prioritizing the ease of manufacturing parts of products and simplified assembly of product parts. DFMA can be divided into DFA or Design For Assembly and DFM or Design For Manufacture. DFA concepts were applied into two processes of the jig, those are: the installation of bolster' frames into the jig, and the assembly of the jig' parts itself into the ground base. DFM concepts were used to analyze the cost to manufacture the jig. Using concepts from the DFMA method, results in 31.39% decrease in the installation time of the bolster frames to the jig with a 10.34% reduction in assembly complexity, 28.21% decrease in the assembly time of the jig' part into the the ground base with a 7.14% reduction in assembly complexity, and a 9.53% reduction in manufacturing costs.

This monograph presents selected new developments in such areas of dependability research as system modelling, tools and methodologies for system analysis, data security, secure system design and specific dependability aspects in specialized technical applications. Many practical cases illustrate the universal rule that complexity and multiplicity of system processes, their concurrency and their reliance on embedded intelligence (human and artificial) significantly impedes construction of strict mathematical models and calls for application of intelligent and soft computing methods.
