Indonesia is known as of one the Police Contributing Countries (PCC) in the United Nations Peacekeeping Operations. Since 1989, Indonesia, through Indonesian National Police, has deployed its police officers into various peacekeeping missions, either individually or in units called Formed Police Units (FPU). In deploying FPU, Indonesia as the PCC is not only responsible for preparing the personnel, but also equipping FPU in logistics and infrastructure, which includes appropriate camps in the mission area. These camps have an important role as the operational and administrative base of FPU, personnel accommodation, assets storage facility, and notably as the symbol of Indonesia’s commitment to its contribution to world peace. FPU Garuda Camp Indonesian in MINUSCA, Central African Republic, was built in 2018 by the International Relations Division of Indonesian National Police with total assets more than IDR 500 billion. For the last two years of the existence of Indonesian FPU mission in MINUSCA, several security threats have occurred to this camp, in the forms of thefts and burglaries. In this case, the camp security is an important element to ensure the unit's success in performing its mission mandate. Thus, the author thinks the need for an evaluation using the perception of Crime Prevention through Environmental Design (CPTED) in order to increase the level of security at Garuda Camp. In the author’s opinion, the design is appropriate because CPTED is based on a basic idea that a proper and effective design in utilizing a built environment can lead to a reduction in crime and fear of crime as well as an improvement in the quality of life in that environment. The author explores threats and employs the qualitative methods to identify the compliance of physical security requirements in the camp. The result of the study reveals that Garuda Camp can be classified into medium level threat category, so that a threat prevention strategy is highly needed. Therefore, in order to anticipate these potential threats, the author designs a threat prevention strategy based on the principles of CPTED."

ABSTRACT
The use of air flight as means of distribution for drug trafficking has been a common occurrences for a long time, because of that airports has long since implemented a crime prevention strategies with a reliable security system. Along with the increasing threat of terrorist acts since the 9/11, the security of airports throughout the world is increasingly enhanced and tightened by utilizing technological developments for surveillance on both passengers and goods in the airport area. Does the improvements in security measures also have an impact on handling other forms of crime, such as drug smuggling? This paper tries to explain how the crime prevention strategies could be materialized at the airport area in order to prevent the drug smuggling activity. The crime prevention implemented in the form of an airport security system is examined through the lens of crime prevention through environmental design, especially with regard to the surveillance principle as proposed by Armitage in Wortley and Townsley (2016) and the visual criminology approach of Wheeldon and Harris (2015), namely presentation, interrogation and data collection, in order to provide another perspective for analyzing the implementation of crime prevention strategies, which in this case is how the airport security system deal with drugs smuggling activities.

This paper discusses the implementation of the concept of Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) as a crime prevention strategy against terrorist attacks in shopping mall areas such as Mal X, which have the potential to be targeted by terrorists. The mall has easy access for its visitors, who come not only from the local authorities but also from the parties that are usually targeted by terrorists. Targeted attacks on shopping malls show that terrorist attacks are not purposefully targeted but have already formed patterns. Using secondary data, this paper indicates that Mal X has implemented security systems that are consistent with the CPTED concept, namely access control, surveillance, and territoriallity."

"This book sheds light on environmental control in buildings from the 17th century onwards. Even before building services became a hallmark of buildings, in order to address increasing sanitary and comfort needs, pioneering experiences had contributed to improve design skills of professionals. After long being determined by passive features, indoor climate became influenced by installations and plants, representing the most significant shift of paradigm in the modern ages construction history. This change was not without consequences, and the book presents contributions showing the deep connection between architectural design, comfort requirements and environmental awareness throughout the 19th century. Taking into account the differences between different European countries, the book is a valuable resource for architects, designers and heritage professionals who are interested in environmental design, enabling them to develop a deeper knowledge of heritage in order to address to climate demands, particularly going towards a future in which energy savings and fuel consumption reduction will dictate our behaviour.
It includes contributions by leading international experts: Melanie Bauernfeind, Marco Cofani, Lino Vittorio Bozzetto, Emmanuelle Gallo, Alberto Grimoldi, Dean Hawkes, Angelo Giuseppe Landi, Mattias Legner, Oriel Prizeman, and Henrik Schoenefeldt."
