Abstrak :
Pre-hipertensi adalah suatu keadaan dimana tekanan darah sistolik 120-139 mmHg dan tekanan darah diastolik 80-89 mmHg, diperkenalkan tidak sebagai katagorisasi penyakit tetapi untuk mengidentifikasi individu yang sangat berisiko hipertensi dan penyakit kardiovaskular. Praktik kesehatan keluarga adalah upaya yang dilakukan keluarga untuk memelihara dan meningkatkan status kesehatan keluarga, khususnya dalam pencegahan prehipertensi. Tujuan penelitian untuk mengetahui hubungan karakteristik individu, koping individu dan praktik kesehatan keluarga dengan kejadian prehipertensi pada usia dewasa. Desain penelitian ini adalah deskriptif observasional dengan pendekatan cross-sectional. Jumlah sampel penelitian sebanyak 107 orang yang diambil melalui teknik cluster sampling. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ada hubungan antara karakteristik individu, koping individu dan praktik kesehatan keluarga dengan kejadian prehipertensi. Faktor yang paling dominan mempengaruhi prehipertensi adalah Indeks massa tubuh (OR= 29,4). Hasil ini merekomendasikan perawat untuk memberikan pendidikan kesehatan kepada seluruh penderita prehipertensi untuk melakukan perubahan gaya hidup agar tidak menderita hipertensi dan penyakit kardiovaskuler dimasa akan datang. ......Prehypertension is a state where blood pressure sistolic 120-139 mmHg and diastolic 80-89 mmHG. It is not a catagorical of disease but for indicating individual that has higher risk of hypertension and cardiovasculer diseases. Family health practices are effort that was done by family to maintain and promote family health. Especially in the prevention of prehypertension. The research aims to determinan assosiation of individual characteristics, individual copyng and family health practices with prehypertension at aged adults. The research design used observational descriptive design with cross sectional approach. Total sample of 107 people were taken by using a cluster sampling technique. The results showed that body mass index (OR =29,4) was the highest factor that impact prehypertension case. The result recommended nurses to give health education to all of prehypertension adults to change life style to prevent hypertension and cardiovasculer diseases in the future.

ABSTRAK Nilai budaya Cina dan nilai budaya Amerika memiliki perbedaan yang kontras. Orang Cina lebih berorientasi pada "situation centered" dimana pada umumnya mereka sangat memperhatikan pendapat lingkungan dan keluarga mereka. Sebaliknya dengan orang Amerika yang lebih berorientasi pada "individual centered" dimana mereka sangat mementingkan faktor individualisme dan pada umumnya tidak berusaha menyembunyikan perasaan mereka dalam berhubungan dengan sesamanya. Masalah yang penulis babas dalam tesis ini adalah bahwa Amy Tan sebagai seorang Cina Amerika generasi' kedua yang besar dalam kedua budaya tersebut memiliki kedua nilai kedua budaya ini. Nilai budaya yang sama tercermin pula pada hasil karyanya yang penulis pilih untuk dianalisa yaitu The Joy Luck Club dan The Kitchen God's Wife. Tujuan penulisan tesis ini adalah untuk menunjukkan bahwa memang kedua nilai budaya ini ada dalam diri Amy Tan dan dalam hasil karya fiksinya. Metode penulisan yang penulis pakai sepenuhnya menggunakan studi kepustakaan dengan kedua novel diatas sebagai sumber utamanya. Pendekatan biografi penulis pakai lebih dahulu untuk mengetahui latar belakang Amy Tan, yang akan mempermudah penulis menganalisa adanya kedua nilai budaya ini didalam hidup Amy Tan. Kemudian dilanjutkan dengan pendekatan budaya, lewat karakter serta cerila yang terdapat dalam kedua novel ini, dimana penulis membagi bagianbagian cerita dan karakter yang mana dalam kedua buku ini yang berorientasi pada nilai Cina dan bagian mana yang berorientasi pada nilai Amerika. Sebagai seorang Cina Amerika generasi kedua, Amy Tan memiliki campuran nilai budaya Cina dan Amerika dengan orientasi individual centered lebih dominan. Pada masa remajanya, Amy Tan sempat mengalami perbenturan nilai budaya, ia pernah sangat ingin menjadi orang Amerika daripada menjadi orang Cina. Tetapi setelah mengalami proses pendewasaan diri, ia sadar bahwa memang ada bagian dalam dirinya yang memang berasal dari Cina. Tetapi dilain pihak bagian dirinya yang lain memiliki nilai Amerika yang lebih besar. Hal yang sama terdapat pula pada kedua hasil karya fiksinya. Amy Tan dalam menulis buku-bukunya banyak memakai sumber pengalaman masa lalunya dan pengalaman keluarganya sendiri. The Joy Luck Club dan The Kitchen God's Wife boleh dikatakan merupakan buku yang berisi campuran kisah nyata dan kisah fiksi dengan Tatar belakang budaya Amerika dan Cina.

The Chinese and American Cultural Value in Amy Tan and her Works: The Joy Luck Club and The Kitchen God's Wife Chinese and Americans have a contrast cultural value. Chinese way of life generally is more oriented to situation centered where they depend much on their surroundings and in the circle of their family. While American way of life generally is more oriented to individual centered where the individualism is the most important thing. In their relationship, they usually do not hide their feeling or emotion to each other. The problem in this thesis is, that Amy Tan as a second generation Chinese American who grew up in the surroundings of these two culture must have both of this cultural value. The same thing we can find in her works. The purpose of this thesis is to show that Amy Tan is really have both of this cultural as well as in her works. The writing method that I used is fully a literature study with the novels themselves as a primary source. Biographical approached is used to understand the background of Amy Tan and will make it easier to enhance the both cultural value in Amy Tan's life. Following by cultural approach through the character and the plot from these two novels. Then I separate which part oriented to Chinese cultural value and which part oriented to American cultural value. As a second generation Chinese American, Amy Tan is absolutely having a mix cultural value with the individual centered more dominant. In her younger age, she has faced a cultural conflict. In fact she wanted to become American instead of Chinese at that time. But when she is grown-up, she realized that she had a Chinese part. But at the other side, her American part is more dominant. Her works also show the same thing. Amy Tan in writing her novels used her own life experience and her own family life as her materials. It is true to said that The Joy Luck Club and The Kitchen God's Wife is a book contents with a mix true story and fiction with the background of Chinese and American culture.

Empowerment programs of poor peoples marked with agenda of motivation, facilities public service, and resources which have never missed from government attention since a period of new order government up to a period of reform government placing forward independence of area and peoples empowerment through regional autonomy concept carrying main purpose in public welfare. However, level of poor peoples in Bekasi practically increasing. In this context institutional capacities become less optimally to implements good role in dimensions of system, organization , and individual . Research of this dissertation was done in Bekasi district West Java Province. Target of responden in this research are governor agency and poor peoples. Designs research sampling applied is stratified random sampling. Purpose of this research is find institution capacities influence model of local government seen from from system dimension, organization, and individual. to empowerment of poor peoples in Bekasi District. Analyzer applied to test hypothesis is path analysis. Result of examination with path analysis.Local government institutional capacities which consisted of system , organization, and individual dimension has influenced which significant either in simultan and also parsial toward poor peoples empowerment in Bekasi district. From thirds of institution capacities dimension of local government tested, individual is biggest dimension of its the influence toward poor peoples empowerment in Bekasi District.
