"Tesis ini membahas tentang bagaimana representasi kekerasan simbolik dalam hubungan romantis pada serial situasi komedi How I Met Your Mother serta bermaksud membongkar ideologi patriarki di balik representasi tersebut. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan metode analisis semiotika Roland Barthes dan teknik pengumpulan data melalui analisis teks, serta studi literatur. Konsep kekerasan simbolik yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini beranggapan bahwa hubungan romantis heteroseksual merupakan bentuk kekerasan simbolik pada perempuan.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa serial komedi situasi How I Met Your Mother menampilkan kekerasan simbolik dengan mereproduksi mitos perempuan dalam hubungan romantis sebagai : objek seks, makhluk yang emosional, dan pihak yang harus lebih rela berkorban. Mitos ini lah yang mengkonstruksikan ideologi patriarki di balik komedi situasi How I Met Your Mother.

This research tries to explain about how the representation of symbolic violence in romantic relationships in a sitcom, How I Met Your Mother, and to expose the pathriarchal ideology behind the representation. This is a qualitative research with semiotic by Roland Barthes as the method to analyze the text and text analysis technique along with literature study to collect the data. The concept of symbolic violence, that is used in this research, assumes that a heterosexual romantic relationship is a form of symbolic violence to women.The result of this research indicates that How I Met Your Mother displays symbolic violences by reproducing myths towards women as: sex symbols, emotional beings and the ones who have to be more self-sacrificing than men. These myths construct the patriarchal ideology behind How I Met Your Mother."

"Penelitian ini membahas mengenai kritik sosial yang dilakukan kelompok Warkop lewat film komedi yang dibuat tahun 1980-1987. Alasan pemilihan film komedi sebagai media historiografi karena film merupakan media audio visual yang dapat mendokumentasikan, mengkomunikasikan dan menarasikan sebuah peristiwa sejarah. Ditambah pula kritik yang disampaikan melalui media film komedi dianggap tidak terlalu mengganggu stabilitas nasional. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode sejarah yang terdiri dari tahap heuristik, kritik, interpretasi, dan historiografi. Historiografi yang dibuat ditautkan dengan klasifikasi humor guna mempermudah menarasikan, menganalisis dan mengklasifikasikan film mana saja yang mengandung kritik di dalamnya. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah menarasikan kritik sosial yang dilakukan kelompok Warkop melalui rekonstruksi dan interpretasi dari audio visual suatu film. Hasil dari penelitian dengan narasi dan interpretasi terhadap film komedi Warkop adalah bagaimana sebuah film komedi yang dianggap sebagai hiburan ternyata dapat digunakan sebagai kritik terhadap pemerintah maupun masyarakat yang dapat dilakukan secara halus maupun secara tajam.

This study is discussed about social critics by Warkop group through their comedy films in 1980-1987. Comedy film is chosen to enlighten documentation process through audiovisual media in communicating or narrating historical event. In addition, the critics in comedy films have no reputation in disrupting national stability. Historical methods which consist of heuristic stage, critics, interpretation, and historiography are used in this study. Historiography related to humor classification is used to make a narrative, analyzed and classified all films easier which contain critics.

By aiming this study, I will make social critics in narrative from audio visual in Warkop group films through reconstruction and interpretative. As result, this study which used narrative and interpretative about comedy films by Warkop group is how a comedy films could be reputed as an entertainment only turned out into critic and acridity to both the government and society."
