ABSTRAKKeselamatan kapal sangat bergantung pada kekuatan akhir struktur dari kapal. Untuk memperkuat pelat kapal, digunakan penegar sebagai penopang atau penguat. Secara analitik, section modulus berpengaruh terhadap kekuatan akhir kapal, dan massa berpengaruh terhadap faktor ekonomis. Oleh sebab itu, penelitian ini bertujuan membahas pengaruh section modulus, massa, dan bentuk geometri penegar terhadap kekuatan akhir penegar tersebut dengan menggunakan metode elemen hingga.
