"The book is addressed to investigators with some knowledge of and familiarity with research methodswho are keen to learn more about the grounded theory method [GTM]. The method is located against general research issues, such as the nature of doctoral and other research, discussions on epistemology and ontology, and the initial motivations for undertaking a specific research project. The key features of GTM are discussed and exemplified using numerous examples taken from several of the authors many successful PhD students. The focus is on distinguishing the core and essential features of the method, from those that can be regarded as accidental. The authors concept of Methodological Sensitivity is introduced to explain how insightful research is often dependent on researchers adapting one or more methods to their specific project and context. The grounded theory method is illustrated through several examples taken from PhD theses supervised by the author; also the derivation of a grounded theory is drawn from more than 100 published GTM papers. The book includes chapters devoted to discussions of the concept of abduction and abductive logic, now seen as central to GTM, set against an overview of different forms of reasoning-i.e. induction and deduction. Other chapters include personal accounts of GTM-in-use by four successful PhD candidates and a guide that summarizes ways in which issues around GTM can be taken into account and addressed both by researchers (not only PhD students) and by assessors and evaluators (PhD examiners, journal editors, reviewers, and those refereeing research proposals)."

"The objective of this paper is to focus on the methodological
aspect in studying young people's sexuality. Due to the extreme sensitivity
in studying this issue, an eclectic approaches to data gathering which
include survey, in-depth interviews, focus group discussions, media
clippings and daily _,field note is used. Five sexual indices developed from
the 1994/'95 Sexuality and Marriage Values Survey is elaborated and
discussed. The index score produced from the sexual indices for sexual
behavior are categorized into three groups: low, medium and high.
Respondents who have a high score are assumed to be more liberal than
respondents with a low score. The paper also discussed the advantages,
disadvantages and how to make focus group and in-depth interview work in
such a conservative cultural setting. Finally, the paper speculate; in trying
to understanding sexuality referred to by researchers as ?ego-threatening ',
?sensitive', and 'taboo topics' by using the eclectic approaches to data
gathering.

Breastfeeding is an activity in which infants receiving breast milk directly from the breast or expressed milk. Research conducted in the Village of Tanah Baru, District Beji, Depok 2015 used a qualitative approach with methods RAP (Rapid Assessment Procedure).
Results of this study showed that the consumption of breastfeeding mothers who breastfeed predominantly are generally higher than breastfeeding mothers who breast feed partially, although both tend to decrease consumption during pregnancy than breastfeeding. Individual factors that differentiate between breastfeeding mothers who breast feed predominant and partial were age, knowledge, motivation, and state of health during breastfeeding. Meanwhile, the environmental factors that influence were prenatal care, lack of health personnel's role in conveying information, the importance of the role of the family, exposure to media and easy access to food.

"The new millennium has ushered in fresh challenges for educational training of the next generation of workers, global thinkers, and an informed citizenry in a rapidly changing cultural milieu. Methods and tools for exploring phenomena are increasing at rapid rates, especially methods designed to explore how individuals make sense of information and use it to solve problems. Methodological approaches that involve interviewing and probing for human understanding and problem solving have garnered significant attention in the fields of education and psychology. Think-aloud interviews and cognitive laboratory interviews are two related but distinct methodological approaches that can be used to explore human thinking for comprehension and problem solving. However, using these methods to yield accurate, reliable and defensible data to inform key educational goals for business, civics, economics, health, policy, and learning requires careful scrutiny of conditions for their application. For example, the techniques of think-aloud interviews are best applied when probing for processes associated with human problem solving, whereas cognitive laboratory interviews are best applied for human comprehension. In the present book, the two methodological approaches are presented and distinguished, including definitions of goals for application, interview instructions, probing procedures, and interpretation of data for claims about human cognition. Chapters are designed to provide the theoretical and empirical roots for the distinct approaches and examples used to demonstrate practical application. The book is designed to provide an easy-to-read introduction to understanding and practical use of these approaches for uncovering the mysteries of the human information-processing system."
