"ABSTRACT
Permasalahan utama dalam remanufacturing mesin diesel adalah tingginya ketidakpastian. Ada tujuh ketidakpastian yang mempengaruhi proses remanufacturing dan ketujuh faktor tersebut terbukti (salah satu atau beberapa faktor) menjadi akar permasalahan utama dalam kasus di PT XYZ, yaitu ketidakpastiak ketersedian suku cadang. Dua faktor utama penyebab hal itu adalah kedatangan core yang tidak sesuai dengan jumlah dan waktu yang diperlukan, dan ketidakpastian mengenai kualitas core yang akan diterima (return core). Untuk memecahkan kedua masalah tersebut, perusahaan harus menerapkan manajemen akuisisi core, antara lain berupa: 1) melakukan pembelian core dalam jumlah tertentu, 2) melakukan persedian suku cadang re-use dalam order sub komponen, 3) melakukan perubahan sistem ERP yang ada agar dapat mengakomodasi job order tunggal menjadi dapat mengakomodasi job order ganda.

ABSTRACT
The main problem of remanufacturing is its high level of uncertainty. There are seven factors of uncertainty that affect the process of remanufacturing and these factors are proven to be (one or several factors) the root cause of the main problem in the case of PT XYZ, which is uncertainty of availability of spare parts availability. Two main factors that cause it are the arrival of cores that are not in accordance with the amount and the time required, and the uncertainty about the quality of the return cores. To solve both problems, the company must implement core acquisition management such as: 1) make purchases cores in a certain amount, 2) to supply spare parts re-use in sub-component order, 3) to modify the existing ERP system so that it can accommodate multiple job order."

"End-of-life Vehicle
(ELV) recovery is a promising strategy to minimize the environmental impact of
automotives on environmental sustainability. This study aims to assess the
community?s knowledge from a socio-technical perspective on ELV. A survey was
conducted in Japan and Malaysia to assess public perception on ELV recovery.
The results showed that the communities in both countries have basic knowledge
and a reasonably good level of awareness on environmental issues and recovery
strategies such as recycling. However, there is a high level of uncertainty on
the concept of ELV reuse and remanufacturing, as more than 50% of respondents
were unsure of their willingness to participate in ELV initiatives. The
respondents agreed that the industry and government should take the necessary
steps to support the reuse strategy. The paper concludes with suggestions from
a socio-technical perspective, which aim to ensure an effective implementation
of ELV recovery through reuse and remanufacturing."

"In remanufacturing, companies take the product back from customers when the product reaches its end-of-life, so as to use as a feedstock for manufacturing of new products. Thereby, it reduces the risk of environmental degradation to be caused by these end-of-life products. The real efficiency in remanufacturing lies in the cost-effective use of reused components. In this paper, we formulate an optimization model based on famous Bass diffusion model to depict not only the quantity returned in the remanufacturing process, but also the amount of cost-saving a manufacturer does with efficient remanufacturing. The proposed approach can enable product designers and remanufacturers to quantify the total component reuse volume by considering the quantity returned, diffusion dynamics with coefficient of innovation and imitation and time to begin remanufacturing. Analytical reasoning & numerical illustration to validate the proposed optimization model and explanation of remanufacturing diffusion dynamics are provided."

"Permintaan akan produk remanufacturing pada saat ini menunjukkan peningkatan sangat tinggi. Hal tersebut mengharuskan perusahaan melakukan suatu metode pengontrolan dalam segala bidang agar dapat memenuhi setiap permintaan konsumen. Salah satu cara yang harus ditempuh adalah dengan mengoptimalkan sistem persediaan bahan baku. Metode yang sesuai untuk sistem persediaan spare parts pada penelitian ini adalah menggunakan fixed time period with safety stock.
Dari hasil pengolahan data menggunakan metode tersebut terbukti dapat menurunkan tingkat persediaan ke titik yang optimal yang berdampak ke penurunan inventory cost. Total saving cost yang diperoleh dari 7 periode penelitian adalah sebesar $ 321.333.
......Remanufacturing product request at the moment shows very high improvement. The high demand forces the company to do a controlling method in all area, so that can fulfill every consumer request. One way to go is to optimize the raw material inventory system. The method is suitable for spare parts inventory system in this research is fixed time period with safety stock.
Based on the result of data processing which applies the method is proven can reduce inventory level to optimal point affecting to decrease of inventory cost. Total saving cost obtained from 7 period is equal to $ 321.333."

Remanufaktur merupakan sebuah sistem manufaktur yang memiliki aspek
keberlanjutan baik dalam sisi lingkungan dan ekonomi. Namun sistem
remanufaktur hanya memiliki tingkat output sebesar 62% sehingga hal tersebut
dapat berakibat ketidakmampuan perusahaan dalam memenuhi permintaan
konsumen yang semakin terus bertambah. Oleh karena itu dibutuhkan suatu
strategi produksi yang tepat bagi sistem remanufaktur agar dapat meningkatkan
output produksi pada kondisi normal dan kondisi ketidakpastian eksternal. Salah
satu cara dalam melakukan pemilihan strategi produksi adalah dengan cara
metode pemodelan berbasis objek. Dari ketiga strategi produksi yang telah
disimulasikan, didapatkan peningkatan efisiensi pekerja sebagai strategi terbaik
yang mampu meningkatkan output produksi pada berbagai kondisi eksternal
sistem remanufaktur

Abstract
Remanufacturing is a manufacturing system that has sustainability in environment
and economic aspect. However, remanufacturing can only produce 62% of all
demand. So, it can affect company?s performance to fulfill consumer demand
which always increase continuously. Therefore, the remanufacturing company
need a good production strategy to increase production output in normal and
uncertainty external factor condition. Object oriented modelling is one of the
simulation methods that can be used to choose the best production strategy. Based
on three production strategy that have been simulated in this study, increasing
worker efficiency is the best strategy in remanufacturing system which can
improve production output in normal and uncertainty condition."
