"Starting from a series of articles on dozing parliamentarians in the Japanese weekly Shūkan Hōseki, this paper elaborates on sleep—or more precisely, inemuri (napping; literally ‘to be asleep while present’)—during public, observable working situations. First, work ethics and the meanings of diligence are discussed by analysing sleeping behaviour and the reasons provided for it. They reveal that one's commitment to a job in general is judged by the time and effort spent on it rather than by the efficiency and concentration with which it is pursued. Inemuri can be interpreted as the result of exhaustion from devotion to work and sacrificed nocturnal sleep and thus even as a subtle method of showing commitment to work. Secondly, the conceptual meaning of inemuri and its social significance is deduced from its literal meaning. As long as it does not endanger the social situation at hand, inemuri is culturally accepted as a subordinate involvement or an away (Erving Goffman) in Japanese society. The degree of acceptance, however, is influenced by the power relations between the persons involved since those relations largely determine who defines the situation as one where sleeping is or is not acceptable."

"Many constitutions include provisions intended to limit the discretion of governments in economic policy. In times of financial crises, such provisions often come under pressure as a result of calls for exceptional responses to crisis situations. This volume assesses the ability of constitutional orders all over the world to cope with financial crises, and the demands for emergency powers that typically accompany them. Bringing together a variety of perspectives from legal scholars, economists, and political scientists, this volume traces the long-run implications of financial crises for constitutional order. In exploring the theoretical and practical problems raised by the constitutionalization of economic policy during times of severe crisis, this volume showcases an array of constitutional design options and the ways they channel governmental responses to emergency."

The COVID-19 pandemic that has been going on since the beginning of 2020 has led to the issuance of many new policies, such as requiring workers who initially work from office to work at home. In addition, there is a changing lifestyle that causes an increase in unpaid work for working women. These changes in work situations add to the double burden of women on a daily basis, so that women are more likely to be absent from work and experience symptoms of depression. This study aims to examine the effect of changes in women's work situations on women's productivity based on days absent and mental health based on the potential for symptoms of depression. The findings of this study explain that changes in the work situation in the form of a decrease in salary make women have the opportunity not to be absent from work. In addition, job change has the potential to increase women's depressive symptoms. Women who are not married and have not had children are also more prone to experiencing symptoms of depression."

Problem of symbolic power often we found in inter-individual relations. This causes the uniqueness of every individual is eliminated in the relation. This is because of our unclear understanding about love. Alain Badiou's thought attempts to conceptualize a clear conception of love that give priority to plurality in an inter-individual relation. This concept is based on the ontology of multiple multiplicities. With this conception of love, the relation will construct the autonomy of every individual who is involved, so that the problem of symbolic power can be solved."

"This volume explores the interconnection of social, political, technological and economic challenges that impact consumer relationships, new product launches and consumer interests. Featuring contributions presented at the 2019 Academy of Marketing Science (AMS) World Marketing Congress (WMC) held in Edinburgh, Scotland, the theme of this proceedings draws from the Scottish Enlightenment movement of the mid-Eighteenth Century, which centered on ideas of liberty, progress and the scientific method. The core values of this movement are being challenged by the rapidly changing, globally shifting and digitally connected world. The contributions presented in this volume reflect and reframe the roles of marketers and marketing in incorporating and advancing the ideas of the Scottish Enlightenment within contemporary marketing theory and practice.
